Fuck the reviews. Watch the trailers and buy it if you think it is something you would like playing.

This is the first FPS SP campaign I am enjoying since I don't even know when. Old school health/armor/ammo pick ups. No bullshit "you can only carry two weapons" limitation. Great visuals and music and an absolutely stellar story and voice acting. The cutscenes are some of the best I have seen.

If the game can keep up this pace and quality till the end it will probably end up being one of my all time favorite games.

Well. If I put up tje the sound really loud then yes the guns sound loud, but it's unplayable like that because the other ambient sounds are way too loud then.

Wasn't calling you wrong by the way. I am interested to see what it sounds like on speakers and on headphones once it unlocks for me.

Yeah I don't really care what the reviews say. I will absolutely buy this game, it looks great. If anything I want to play it just because I've played, and for the most part enjoyed, all the other Wolf games. And because it's got some good FPS developers working on it.

I do hope it turns out to be good and liked by most that play it, Wolf hasn't really shined brightly for a while.

Just some quick impressions as I'm knackered and need to go to bed :p

Did the first three chapters and so far I really like it. Overall the weapons have sounded great so far, especially the assault rifle, but I must admit I'm disappointed with the double barrels sound. It just isn't good enough. Playing Rage only yesterday even showed it up.

The other thing that really sticks out is how laid back it is. It's not like COD where you feel 'PUSH ON! MOVE UP!', you can walk about the levels and do a bit of exploration and get into skirmishes along the way. The AI definitely isn't too bright but I've found it to be on the fun side of dim, especially if you're stealthing a level or at least trying to stealth until you take out a commander. I did get surprised at least once when I walked through a doorway and a fuckin Nazi was lying front down on the floor shooting at me :p Combat's been fun, nothing mindblowing but some nice blood and seeing Nazis go down like a sack of spuds is a blast. Overall I would say I prefer Wolf 09's combat so far but remember I'm a big Raven fan and like their style. Might be different for you.

Storywise I absolutely love how serious it, BJs voiceover has been great so far. The Nazis are real pieces of shit in this and really make you want to kill them. It's ludicrous in a serious way instead of campy and I really dig that.

Obviously it's far too early too judge it as a game overall but it's a damn solid shooter which I'm enjoying quite a bit. Still a long way to go but if there's some nice twists and turns and MachineGames vary things up along the way I reckon it'll be a solid purchase. We shall see!

Oh yes, at first I was like, 'Is that my Doom 2 double barreled shotabang, come to Papa'.

Then I fired it..

Played a few hours of the PS4 version and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Hearing early impressions i was getting worried but so far it's pretty solid imo and the shooting feels great.

This post has inspired me to walk into gamestop tomorrow and proudly say, "I'm here for my fucking pre-order!!!......please."

I know it's not a stealth game, but I prefer my FPS's when there is some stealth aspect (my favorite parts of Metro Last Light was when I could stealth around and get the jump on guys. Especially if I could try to stealth through them all). I don't mind if I mess up having to shoot through the rest, but I like the option to try to stealth my way through

So, for some one like me would you say this game might be a fun one? So far what I'm hearing sounds good (I also like a decent story and I see a few people here saying the story is pretty good). I also like your comment on how you can explore around (as some one who tends to gravitate towards RPG games, I naturally love exploring ;) ).

Fuck yes! I only beat the first level and these are literally my same thoughts. I am loving the shit out of this game and also the specs needed for this game are absolutely BS. I have everything maxed out and running at 1080p/60fps. i5-3550k, GTX 680 4gig, 16gig ram

I truly have not been this excited about a SP FPS Campaign in a very, very long time.

I have purposely not read much of anything (did see some of the not so positive feedback in this thread, and dismissing it right now) and just plan to go into the game with the one and only purpose of having fucking fun. Not just fun. Fucking fun.

So yeah, I even took off of work on Thursday & Friday just to extend my holiday weekend and make sure I had some time to play this.

Please tell me there's no quick save anywhere option in this. I know the feature has pretty much been eradicated by now but Wolf seems a little old school so I wouldn't be surprised if it was still in there.

The exploration part is one of the things I consider a pro as well. Just slowly taking your time and perhaps finding some neat details, a secret path or even a small puzzle... I like it.

No save option at all. Only auto save w/ checkpoints.

Well, that's a little disappointing, hopefully it auto saves decently often. I hate being forced to wait til it saves for me (especially if it isn't obvious when it saves). That means if I need to pick up and go soon I don't know if I have time to get to the next checkpoint or if I'm just going to end up having to lose more progress if I try to go any further. Plus when I'm ready to quit the game it means I'll feel compelled to try to get to the next checkpoint when maybe I'm ready to call it quits.

Not a dealkiller but honestly, I really don't like it when they don't let me save myself. Plus a lot of times it means you can't re play a chapter that you might have enjoyed and just want to play it without being punished (metro last light for example if you liked one chapter if you went back to it, it would erase all progress from future chapters).

First hour done, my roommate thought it was cool watching me, and I think the shooting's pretty great. Gore helps a lot, and there've already been a couple of open rooms and the enemies flanked me pretty good. Bout to mess around with some settings and see if I can't get vsync working. Thank God there's an FOV option on PC, too.

I'm not getting great performance with my computer. I have a GTX 760 2GB and an i5 2500k@4GHz, and I'm getting dips even with medium settings at 1920x1080.
Oh man, I'm glad I'm getting it on my PS4 then. I have basically the same rig but with a slightly weaker CPU.

How is the story (without spoilers please) for those who have played it?

I'm hoping Machine Games continues with the Starbreeze narrative goodness.

I can't wait!
