Watch Playstation's E3 conference in movie theaters

I waited too long while trying to decide. Now I am on the waiting list for Charlotte, NC. It's a 2.5 hr drive for me. Would I be crazy to drive that far when I may not even get in?

There are tickets 3.5 hours away from me but 3.5 hours! If I came back that night, I'd be getting home at 3am!

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?
Okay, so that initial spreadsheet got trolled pretty hard. I tried to copy as much of the info as I could into this new spreadsheet (quote my post to find the link). If you added your info before, I recommend you check to see if it's still there.

EDIT: If any of you puts this link out in the open, I will find you and give you several papercuts in unpleasant places.
Anybody made a spreadsheet for Texas yet?
Keep it in the email tags. But pick the tab that says Texas at the very bottom.

Personally? No way I would do that. All that driving and gas money for a show you can watch at home and might not even get into? Nah

Dude. Its just a confrence lol. Stay home and enjoy it on your big screen while you are chatting eith fellow gafers.

Ever been to a showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show in a theater? I'd imagine it's going to be like that lol.

Hopefully people are not talking over stage speakers. That would annoy the shit out of me.

I mean I imagine they'll let us at least chat, and I know everybody will tell each other to shush when a new trailer is playing.

Either ways going to the Houston Texas showing. I'll be sure to ask if any fellow Gaffers are there, my friend and I are both SonyGAF

One of my besties and I are doing it. Has anyone done one of these before? Is it like normal movie etiquette where you can't talk? Or would it be cool to talk and cheer?

If I don't go deaf due to the amount of screaming when The Last Guardian is shown I will be disappointed.

Cool! :) Anyone make a doc yet?

Quote this post to find the link to the spreadsheet.

My prediction is that the free gift is Vita TV plus a 1 year all you can eat subscription to their service for game rentals.

Keep in mind that they'll be giving away something like 10,000 to 20,000 gifts based on theatre numbers. It's unlikely to be something too spectacular. Of course you never know though.

I wonder if it'll actually be given to everyone or just a lucky few. Also wonder how whatever it is will be distributed.

Would really love it if it's a "check under your seat" situation... But that wouldn't really work for movie theater seats.

Oh no doubt. For the most part, people will be quiet trying to to hear the conference, but best believe jokes, crying, laughing, screaming, and anger will be huge parts of it. I can't wait. Even if Sony doesn't drop any megatons, the experience is worth it LOL.

It's definitely for everyone, but I think there will be separate prizes as well for trivia/raffles?

If it's small, stuff could fit under movie theater seats, but I bet they'll just hand em out at the end and call it.

But yeah, I doubt they'd hype it if it was standard swag, but it's not expensive stuff I bet. Meet in the middle!

Does the spreadsheet have a way to see how many are going to each theater? I'd love to see if there are more people in the Houston showing to try and group together in a side of the theater. Keep it GAF.

Give my confirmation number was in the 14k range you have to figure there are at least that many

Good point. I was in the 9000+ range when I got my email. Honestly, it's probably going to be like a cheesy certificate saying, "I SURVIVED THE SONY E3 CONFERENCE FEATURING CATBIRD" or some shit like that and a pass for a free year or PS+ which would be pretty cool.

It won't be that great of a gift since I assume Sony spent a lot of money to rent them out, probably be a month of plus.

True enough. They could do something like a raffle. Get a ticket when you enter.

I was back and forth as well but I decided to reserve anyway but if it was just for a chance to get in I wouldn't do it.

Welp, you already found it didn't you? There's only one theater in Houston doing the showing, so that should be rather easy.

yeah just found it. I put my friend and I in the list for the Houston showing. If there's only a few of us GAF'ers going it'd be nice to sit together, if it's a lot there's little chance lol.

I am about three hours from San Diego, but chose that over Los Angeles this morning. I can't stand driving anywhere near L.A.

Super excited. Will be fun to see a group of people lose their minds when a cool trailer goes up.

Quick question, I booked for Montreal showing of the Playstation conference, only to find out that I made an error and put the same name in contact and guest. So what I did is create an other booking with my name and my guests name. I sent an email to the email in the confirmation email to say to cancel my original booking. I'm guessing that there is nothing more than I can do right ? I mean that's the only way to contact them I guess. Hopefully they take notice so 2 other people can go.

The secret prize is a hug from Ellen Page.
May I have one of the 43 Ellen Page clones? I just wanna hang out for a bit.

Can you imagine how boring it would be if you didn't? I look forward to the cheering and booing and heckling and "Bring Jack Back" chanting. That's just me though. You can always re-watch it quietly at home but you only get one chance to watch live with a theater of people.

The thirst was real apparently. Glad we showing out though. I'm on the waiting list myself. If I get hype enough over the swag bag I'll go.
I was already thinking of taking time off just so people at the job wouldn't see me sneaking peeks at the video conferences. Being able to see it on the big screen would've been nice. Like people said, I doubt they would go this far, only to have a disappointing show. I'll probably still head out to see if anybody no-shows.
