Guerrilla: GG's new IP won't be at E3 - not ready to show yet

TheStruggler

Report me for trolling ND/TLoU2 threads
People forget that jaffe outright lied about showing something

Now im not saying they're lying but they arent just gonna outright confirm everything either

but didnt patcher spoil it during a gametrailers talk circle or whatever, he straight up said jaffe was lying and he'd be there. Patcher said he did it to get back at him for something

Pretty much all of GS announcements were XDEV announcements or SSM collaboration. Which is awesome. But, they still have dat first party war chest that they haven't shown us yet. The big names like MM, SSM and GG and more.

MM's last game, Tearway, was revealed at Gamescom 2012. So I wouldn't be surprised if they reveal their next game at Gamescom also.

I don't know why people are bummed here. Shadow Fall just came out and they're supporting it with DLC. Be realistic with your expectations.

It´s funny when people list the games that Sony is making for their platforms, everyone forgets Gravity Rush 2 for Vita, which will be one of the highlights of the show.

Phil-Modern-Family-Point-and-Thumbs-Up.gif

It's shame how often neglected that game is when talking about E3 line-ups. If Gravity Rush 2 makes an appearance during the conference then that will personally be considered a major highlight.

Wouldn't it more likely for it to show up at Gamescom or TGS? You know, since SCEE and SCEJ sort of actually care about the Vita

Man, I feel like I'm the only one who isn't particularly bothered by Sony's first party lineup. Third party games are far more important to me. On PS3, the only exclusive games I cared about were TLOU, Uncharted trilogy, and Heavy Rain. For the rest, I focused on third party games like Fallout, Skyrim, Red Dead, Assassin's Creed, Deus Ex, Mass Effect, Just Cause, etc.

Infamous and Resogun have already been exclusive treats this generation. I guess I just don't understand why people are so fixated with exclusives. There's so many amazing third party games to get excited about. And hey, they look and perform a bit better on PS4 too.

But at the same time, if Sony wants a quick and efficient way of appeasing the Vitabros at E3, then the first trailer proper for Gravity Rush 2 would just about do it. Plus it's go to be ready to show by now. If they wait until TGS, then it'll be an entire year without any updates on the game.

As expected.

Another big event. Another basically No show from SCE studios.

Hopefully they have something else worthwhile other then Project Beasts but given the last year of only showing 1 new big game a show I dont expect much

they will show nothing in this E3 then, just stuff we already saw 100 times and fucking third partys?

ffs hype meter is low as fuck.

Hope they dont go all indie BS and third party :S

This isn't so surprising. They've just shipped a game and thereafter probably just moved their second project into full production.

MM was surprising, something like Naughty Dog not showing at E3 would be super surprising, but this was very predictable.

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?
Fortunately, I place zero trust in the devs words when it comes to if they're showing games at E3. Simply because ignoring an asked question such as this is a pseudo-confirmation and answering it is a spoiler. The only thing that'll happen at E3, is what happens at E3.

Shu Yoshida will there be surprises at TGS no. Jpg

Phew, reading this thread you'd think Sony's going bankrupt tomorrow.

Well, Sony's got Watch Dogs and Destiny, what more do they need? :p

Fortunately, since it's the 20th anniversary of the PlayStation, Sony can spend lots of time reminiscing about games of yesteryear and showing old game footage. They can easily fill 90 mins of conference time with old stuff.

As most of the games are delayed till next year, E3 2015 should be a blast.

It seems nearly all of Sony's first party studios will be missing from E3 for the second year on the run, I hope some of them are just telling fibs.

They revealed 5 games at their PS4 reveal...that's why they only announced one at E3.

Not sure how anyone can think they won't have a great show based on what's been happening. The E3 theater event, 20th Anniversary of PlayStation, 30th Anniversary of Naughty Dog, 5 new trademarks, games that were announced last year that we haven't seen (and potential TLG re-introduction), and that list that was posted many times in this thread.

Bf is back in Sony's hands.
Wut? Was the deal Microsoft struck only for BF4 or something? Do we have a source somewhere saying that EA and Sony made a deal?

They'd have to care about the Vita to want to appease us first. We'll get our Indie game, maybe PS2 ports and announcements but that's about it

Conspiracy theory:
If your game not ready to show for E3, why do a AMA before E3 when you knew people will ask that question?

When is the last time E3 first party reveal have dev said "yeah we will show something new at E3"
We don't know about GG, SP. Evolution will show things at Feb or RAD will show game at E3 last year. We have zero idea ND working on TLOU until we first saw the trailer on VGA.

All these hype killing is part of the master plan.

Sony lost E3, all hope is lost

We've seen two teasers from The Order, a logo from Uncharted, leaked webm's from Project Beast and one trailer a piece from Rime, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, and Shadow of the Beast.

"Please stop showing the same games, Sony!"
i0UGYLxYPJmIU.png

I don't get the big deal, honestly. We know for a fact that Guerilla is working on a new IP for release in late 2015/early 2016. I'm sure they could give you an Uncharted VGX style trailer but what good does that do anyone? I'm tired of publishers announcing games too early as is.

Holy shit some of the doom and gloom going on.
It's amazing the contrast between Sony and MS E3 threads around here recently:

Sony: "None of their studios are showing up. Project Beast has already leaked. Sony's cocky now. It's over. I might just go ahead and sell my PS4 now. Sony lost E3 before it has started."

MS: "Dude, it's going to be megaton after megaton. RE7. ME4. Fallout 4. Shenmue 3. Red Dead 2. BLINX: The Return. Vanquish 2. All exclusive. Phil Spencer gonna hand out free X1s to everyone! MS is back, baby!"

Monday's going to be fun- one way or another. :p

I hope Project Beast isn't the only thing Sony has in store for us. I mean I know they probably have tons of stuff, but -for me at least- perception is that they won't show too much brand new stuff.

Well, considering last year Sony showed off a ton of new stuff (the order, indies, third party announcements), then I'm sure they wont disappoint this year. Project Beast and *hopefully* TLG PS4 will go a massive way to show this.

Too bad. But this is bad PR..these are the things that should have been clarified much earlier, not just before E3.

This could mean so many things

1. Sony has enough content for E3 that they are comfortable letting MM/GG show their work at Gamescom.

2. Sony is taking it easy ....which wouldn't make any fking sense

3. They have, like last year, 1-2 announcements that are on their own big enough to make it a memorable conference, in a positive sense.

I think logically, 1 and 3 are more likely.

Another observation I have made is these threads get filled with concern trolls lol I feel like there's a certain illogical narrative that's being pushed around. Not unlike last E3

A full demo of The Order, a premier of Uncharted and debuting Project Beast would make for a pretty big show already. They may not want some of their new IPs to get drowned out by those.

Yh 5 WHOLE MINS of INDIES....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVL6KCK4ES4

Seriously the downright disrespect to indie devs is sad at times. Just because there is an indie game announced for the PS4 every other day on the PSBlog doesn't equate the PS4 to being only indie4station. It isn't like your getting exclusives every month on any other console. All Sony are doing is providing a medium for indie devs to communicate with gamers. Is that a bad thing for them to do?

Hopefully Sony does deliver the goods at E3 so this perspective will end because it's damn right silly and tiring to hear.

I hope Project Beast isn't the only thing Sony has in store for us. I mean I know they probably have tons of stuff, but -for me at least- perception is that they won't show too much brand new stuff.

My gut tells me The Last Guardian will be there too. But I also have a bad feeling that it will be cross gen

Either way that would make a for a great show.

Well that's partially the source of my concerns. I don't really care about TLG.

I know I know..I'll show myself out.

The way I see it, the definition of Sony caring about the Vita at E3 would be to dedicate some time to it during the conference. Surely by showing an "indie game and PS2 ports", that demonstrates that they care, even if it's only a miniscule amount. What I'm saying is, they could take those 3 minutes used for what you mentioned, and air a sweet looking trailer for Gravity Rush 2 instead. It wouldn't be much, but those 3 minutes would go some way to lift the spirits of Vita owners around the world, considering GR is one of the most appreciated games on the system. And it's been part of the Instant Game Collection for well over a year now, earning it a fair amount of exposure in the process. I think Sony is savvy enough to be aware of this, and could go into E3 with such a mentality.

"How do we sidestep the Vita at our conference without ignoring it completely and subsequently having Vita owners claw our faces?"

"Show the first full-fledged trailer for Gravity Rush 2."

"Done!"

Wow! To see 3rd party games and games we already know on theathers will be amazing! Sigh..
I hope for at least The Last Guardian and Project Beast.

The AMA is a consolation prize.

I'm kind of thinking there will be some big Sony business related news, but maybe not necessarily about gaming.

See, I think the opposite. If they show those games and they are all 2015 release dates, why should I get pumped. I'll be excited for e3 2015

I'm expecting TLG too. A gameplay reveal of Arkham Knight, while not exclusive, will be a big deal too.

There are months in 2015 before E3. I expect at least The Order and Beast to be out before then.

It's ironic because it means it becomes more likely that people will be underwhelmed by MS with their ridiculous expectations, and will be pleasantly surprised by Sony with their underwhelming expectations.

Perhaps that was Sony's plan all along....

I love how you are so optimistic..I wish I could be the same. But I just can't after the last two E3s

Honestly tho, they can spend 10-15mins on the system. Vita TV, price drop/bundle etc news + GR2, Over My Dead Body 2 and Freedom Wars Trailers + mentions/footage reel for other games like DanganRonpa 2 and that would make for a great/solid vita showing

But I don't think the leadership at sony in the past or now gives a fuck about Vita, at least at SCEA

Phew, reading this thread you'd think Sony's going bankrupt tomorrow.

Its E3, the Superbowl of gaming in the words of Papa Jack, and they won't bring their big guns? Dafuq?

Sony can't rely on price & DRM to win E3 again. The last time they announced a 1st party PS4 title (15 studios from WWS) was Uncharted 4 and before that was PS Meeting.

So
bazqF.gif
Sony?

My guess is that first party met some sort of trouble during initial PS4 development that f**** everything over. Like why was DC delayed for an entire year when their last major title was in 2011?
