Guerrilla: GG's new IP won't be at E3 - not ready to show yet

God, the robot dinosaurs thing can't be as lame as the picture I have in my head.

I can tell you right now that I would never buy an Xbox if 90% of that ended up true, just to spite them. Grabbing exclusives by supporting third party titles that would never have been made otherwise is one thing - paying loads of cash to prevent games from going to the competition, though? Fuck that noise.

The "MS is locking up every 3rd party game" rumors get more outlandish every year. Certain folks here legitimately thought there was a chance of EA going completely Xbox exclusive last year. This is the week where logic goes out the window.

I didn't see it myself. But it's more of a debut (concept) trailer. Third person, lots of lush environments, redhead woman, robot dinosaurs (herds of them actually) and other really weird things, low-fi mixed with future high tech, some bows and swords even.

The real big debut of it is scheduled for next E3, so I don't know if they'd show this teaser next week, might wait for Gamescom given they're a Euro studio.

This sounds suspiciously similar to the amazing concept art from that GG artist. I really hope it's indicative of the game because those pieces were boss.

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?

Jeez man. That's the entire trailer =P. Thank god for 3rd Person. What's the point of a unique protagonist if you can't see her?

If it is not TLG I think the megaton hinted at would be FF7 remake. That would be such a disappointment for me though as I hate JRPG'S
A FFVII remake would be the biggest megaton ever, but I also can't imagine how it would be financially viable to have it be exclusive. Unless Sony is publishing it in the West like the original, and I can't see why SE would do that.

Only if it's a complete remake, from the ground up. If it's just a cleaned up 7 with voice acting, it's still not TLG level.

shucks that it was a concept vid

meaning we not sure if it would be possible to have massive herds of dinos with their updated engine on PS4 hardware while being open world

Good lord, Sony's press conference might be very barren. I guess they will want to have Ubisoft extend their Assassin's Creed demo to 20 minutes.

Well, they've been working on it for what, 2 years now? By now I'm sure any proof of concept video is long gone. I wouldn't underestimate what we're going to see from the PS4 in the next couple years.

Sony will most certainly be funding the remake if it is exclusive. I have a sneaky feeling that this is the megaton. The movie theater broadcast, PlayStation's anniversary etc just seem to hint at a game announcement that is a megaton from a nostalgic viewpoint. What better game to highlight PlayStation legacy than announcing the final fantasy remake.

It looks like I have to continue the never ending wait for TLG. I would take TLG over any FF game in a heartbeat.

Wait...wasn't there supposed to be something pertaining to Naughty Dogs 25 year anniversary at this presser?

I hope so

I expect we may not even see it at Gamescom

I wouldn't mind though... the last time GG took their time they made KZ2 and I never complained about the final outcome with that game :)

No, because there's going to be fucking nothing at the presser. It's going to be a 2 hour session of Cerny in the tub while the screens repeat a dubstep remix of "Please be excited" over b-roll footage of indies.

Wut? Was the deal Microsoft struck only for BF4 or something? Do we have a source somewhere saying that EA and Sony made a deal?
Apparently so. No direct confirmation until E3, but Sony has an exclusive beta.

Get out of here with your optimism. Sony's doomed, I tell ya! DOOOOOOOMED.
Just like 2014 has NO GAMZE and PS4 HAZ NO GAMZE! NEVER WILL!

ROFL seriously though, wasn't this hinted at, or am I going crazy from E3 fever?

Give me Agni's Philosophy over any other possible game SE could put out. I think I'm about 6 years past the point where an FFVII remake could excite me.
I'd love a FFVII remake, but I feel you. All these remakes/rehashes remind me of Hollywood, and I don't like it.

Give me a new Deus Ex running on the Agni's tech, and I'd be smitten.

Calling it now, FF7 remake with Morpheus support, helmed by SCEJ.

I highly doubt their 1.5-2 hour presser will be barren...

They can pad things out a good deal - especially when you consider indies, PS Now, Morpheus, the entire Vita platform, etc.

I don't know what the showstoppers or megatons are supposed to be anymore, though.

Uncharted is a big enough megaton for me. Megatons are rarely the same for everyone.

i would rather them wait, then show a game like Dying light make me drool and then delay it for 2 years. Or 90% of the other games that are shown as a teaser that never see the light of day

Makes me wonder if the cancelled SSM game (Stig's game) might have been intended to be a major piece (or even the centerpiece) of E3 2014 around this time last year.
Due to the cancellation, that was a major production that now leaves a gap.

Project Beast and Uncharted 4 (I mean, we're talking the Naughty Dog wizards' first PS4 game) should bring the hype, but I really feel like Sony needs a surprise re-reveal of TLG this year to close things out.

Despite all of the hyperbole and doom/gloom around here, I really think with or without TLG Sony will have a solid show that solidifies their message to people to "buy a PS4 THIS year" with superior multi-plats, indies, and first party games like Driveclub and TLOU:Re.
Showing off TLG again would just be a lot of fun, get the hardcore going nuts, and finally get people off Shu's ass about it.

This seems to be the most popular theory, and makes the most sense.

Do people even care about FF that much anymore? I think I'd rather see FF15 more than FF7.
I feel that way, FFXV is what I've wanted from the series since X, and a VII remake isn't even nearly as interesting. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't buy it, and wouldn't be shocked to see it, but ultimately I would have little faith in me enjoying it all that much.

XV is the Final Fantasy for the people who grew up playing those PS1 games, but have had generations of the US dominating game design and want something more action and exploration focused. I think it's actually a much better fit for the audience SE think wants FFVII again than the FFVII remake would be.

By definition, you're not supposed to know what the showstoppers or megatons are...

I don't think you are using that word correctly. The reception to a megaton can vary wildly, but in no universe is the next (and previously announced) iteration of a popular franchise a megaton. What you mean to say is that inclusion of Uncharted 4 is good enough for you. It's a big deal, but it doesn't have that element of awe. PB is a megaton, FXIII multi-plat is a megaton, TLG would be a megaton (sorta).

I think this conference will just be Uncharted 4, The Order, Project Beasts and The Last Guardian. That is still not a bad line up. On paper that sounds bad, but I bet each individual game will blow people away, for example Uncharted 4 isn't getting much hype, but I bet the Gameplay reveal will get GAF talking.

I disagree halo 5 and uncharted 4 are megatons.

You literally just proved my point. Beast isn't a megaton to me.
