2014 Microsoft E3 Conference

It was good, somewhat too many cross-platform games and games only ex Xbox/360 owners can get excited about.
As i said earlier though, ex owners are now probably crapping their pants with joy.
Halo collection seems like solid gold for a fan.

They showed games and kept the cloud bs out of the conference. Good for MS. Where were the megatons that all these so-called insiders hinted at? Nearly everything presented was well known, hinted at or leaked.

Eh. I like the whole show videogames only thing. But it was just all a bunch of the same shit we see, explosive action games with a small side reserved indie games.

Not that I should ever expect more.

Mediocre conference overall.

Sunset Overdrive looked nice, and Scalebound will probably be cool (but I need to see some game play first), but the rest was almost all multiplatform titles and stuff we already knew about. There weren't any bombs, and few games that really looked interesting.

I am sincerely surprised at how underwhelmed I am by this conference so far. Sunset Overdrive continues to be the most interesting thing I've seen and that's been known for a long time. Lots of multiplats, a Fable game I have zero interest in, a Halo collection that is mildly interesting but certainly not something I'd buy a console for, cg trailers for Phantom Dust and Scalebound (Neither of which are known enough that I can judge them as interesting or exciting based on that), and a cg trailer for Crackdown which I'm sure will be fun but is coming out at an unknown date.

Did they show 90 minutes of games? Definitely. I commend them for that. But I'm sad that Sunset Overdrive is still the only thing getting my blood moving. I was really hoping a new IP was going to get me really excited, but cg trailers for games with unknown dates aren't doing it. I feel like MS is in the right headspace, and I'm happy about that, but they didn't excite me.

That $400 I've got in Amazon credit is going to sit right where it is for now.

Really good conference for Microsoft. Actually put Xbox One on my radar. Good job MS.

lol Jack Tretton just gave the MS conference an "A" grade on Spike/GT

Much better than last year...I'm gonna go solid B. Halo looks cool, Sunset looks cool, Crackdown looks cool, and Scalebound looks cool. It was very safe, but solid.

They definitely avoided having any dull moments, but the only real megatons were the sheer quality of the Halo Collection and that the Platinum game was by Kamiya, I think.

The age of the third-party exclusive is pretty clearly over, and it's pretty interesting that Platinum feels like the main source of them at this point.

Not a bad press conference, just disappointing. Yes, games games games, but mostly multiplatform games and old IPs. But at least Scalebound was a good surprise.

To be honest, I thought AC unity was the best of the bunch, I am not usually a fan of Ubi games, but compared to all the crappy CGIs we have seen, roaming medieval Paris was gorgeous and funner.

in terms of exclusives there wasn't that much that excited me. looking forward to gameplay reveal of that platinum games game.

That was pretty disappointing. All the games I was interested in where multiplats, and there wasn't really anything exciting.

Pretty good conference. Crackdown + Halo stuff has me reconsidering my next gen purchase for sure. And of course, more solid Sunset Overdrive.

gotta give it to microsoft, for the very first time they actually sold me on the system. what an honest conference: zero froth, no suits, very down to earth and to the point – nothing but GAMES, a whole scope of them to boot. a legit treat, and a more than welcome surprise. i was ready to snooze through the blur of shooters, teal and mud but the variety of games (that looked GOOD no less) honestly took me by surprise

10/10 good job microsoft, keep it up
my highlights:

EVOLVE
Sunset Overdrive
DR3 DLC
Ori
INSIDE
Phantom Dust
PG nuthugger so Scalebound

Pacing was good; nothing really dragged on although I'm not a big fan of the long gameplay demos during the conference (maybe this is why I don't mind what Nintendo's been doing). Unfortunately I'm not really a fan of any of the games shown. I love shooters but there's too many (in my personal experience). I love Platinum Games, but I'm not a big Monster Hunter person (or even if it's not a Monster Hunter clone, it doesn't look appealing to me). Definitely don't care about Forza. Personally for me, 6 or 7 out of 10.

I may have not been interested in most of the games shown but the conference was extremely well paced. No bullshit, just game after game after game.

nothing exciting for me, most games were multiplatform and we already knew about. Inside looked interesting but not exclusive so not going to buy an X1 just for that.

They actually did pretty well considering the position they're in market-wise. Much better than last year's conference.

Scalebound was the only good game I saw.

Meh.. Microsoft did better than last year and the year before.

Rise of the Tomb Raider looks fun, but it will be on PC and PS4 definitely.

I dunno why there's so much hate, I really loved this year's showing for Xbox. I still haven't decided which current gen console I'll get, but I can't think of the last time I saw a pure games conference at E3 like that showing. Sure there weren't any "major" surprises (I put that in quotes because if you don't read the forums there were some surprises), but I thought it was a killer job. Plus bringing back some great gems! to those wondering about Gears, I'm thinking it's a safe bet to assume it's coming. Probably will be revealed between year's end and 2015 E3.

Well.... if you are an Halo fan, this conference was really good.
If you are a multi-console owner, this conference was average, imo.

Only " Ori" was really interesting for me.

Basically this, as a PS4 owner i couldn't help but think "this will run better on PS4" a lot during the conference.

Sunset Overdrive was cool, most of the 2015 and later stuff looks too early, like they decided to put a bunch of CGI stuff out of their asses to hook people on the promise of a bright future lineup. Most CG i've seen in a conference in almost 10 years.

I only saw the last 30 minutes but I really liked what I saw. Phantom Dust, Platinum's exclusive, Crackdown. Lots of interesting stuff, great conference
