Worst game I have played so far.

Metal Gear Rising. DMC (generally not the newest) makes this game look like a kitten.

And seriously one of the worst implementations of story through gameplay. The disconnect between story and gameplay was so phenomenal I had to install it because I couldn't take it anymore. If only Suda51 would have picked this title. If only.

This E3 has been pretty damn good for the PC. I'm only disappointed with the lack of more sports games for PC from EA(it's 2014 dammit), and the Japanese pubs are still not fully on board with Steam -- so out of touch with the west.

You don't like it because of the story integration?

I didn't as well. I remember the cinematics being too long and awful. I wished the levels were longer and had more enemies, but I don't know how the cinematics factored into the design and length of the levels, if they did at all, I'm just guessing they were aiming for a certain length, etc. I felt ill-prepared for the last boss due to lack of practice. I haven't gone for a second playthrough, but I intend to one of these days.

I'm all for cutscenes having as little presence as possible and while I can say the ones in Rising are short by Metal Gear standards that doesn't mean much. But the entire ending sequence was golden; God bless America.

You could really tell there was a rush to get things finished by the end chapters, but the game gives me the same rough charm feel of God Hand and had me going back in to replay it because there really wasn't much filler to speak of. Still haven't gotten the PC version but I might get it during the seal and play it a bunch more.

I absolutely loved the gameplay; the combat was glorious. I was hoping someone would mod an endless mode, but there wasn't any modding to speak of last I checked. I haven't thoroughly looked at the VR missions (I didn't manage to unlock many by the game's end; I didn't like this either), the ones I've played were short as well, with quick goals, and the turnaround wasn't fast enough for me to just keep repeating them.

I'm surprised Final Fantasy Type-0 wasn't announced for PC as well, I thought Square Japan had jumped fully onto the PC train.

That's the ONLY way I can buy it now, if I wanted to after the whole Vita fiasco.

Wow I'm trying to finally finish the Portal 1 achievements and holy shit these challenges are awful.

Might as well blame them on Kim Swift since they aren't in P2.

Yes. Yes they are. There's a reason I never did them -- playing through the main game was more than enough Portal for me. Trying to speedrun stuff? No thanks.

They've been releasing nothing but old ports :p

Sometimes this is a problem. Since Type-0 never made it to the west, it's not really an old port... :p

Go play VR mission 18 and come back after you've broken 36 controllers and haven't beaten it after 983651 attempts. :p

And finishing a VR mission isn't really the goal. Getting the gold is. ;)
There's a reason I've spent probably 150+ hours with the game across two platforms and gotten all the trophies/achievements twice (save the DLC on PS3, for some reason I could never get the motivation to go play it, even though I had actually bought it before it was free).

I would be sooooo happy if I could get a Madden on PC. I'd even buy it yearly! Ya, that serious.

I wouldn't recommend them either way, it's where the game really hits the dumps. Removes almost any fun you can have with freestyling combat in favour of requirements expecting extremely rigid approaches to playstyle. There are a couple of exceptions where it's pure challenging combat, but the rest are duds.

I just hop back into the main game and skip cutscenes when I want my chopping fix. I haven't played the Sam and Blade Wolf DLC either, so I guess I'll have to look forward to that when I get it on Steam.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
Back on topic: I think HL3 is being released 2015, announcement maybe in late 2014, would fall in line with HL2 being 10 years old.

We more or less know that L4D3 is further along, which places HL3 behind it, and the former hasn't been announced. HL3 is 2016 at the earliest.

The silver requirements are pretty doable by crudely following video guides fortunately without much practice. I can't imagine trying this stuff with a controller though.

What if... they're the same game?! O_O

Reminds me of this back-and-forth:

Im fairly certain Left for Dead 3 in the Valve leaks is actually the codename for Half-Life 3

There are separate groups for Half-Life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3. Valve isn't going to create red herrings in its internal project tracker.
For codenames? Sure why not? Most codename projects use the codenames internally through emails ans such.

Do you truly believe that Valve is using Half-Life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3 as internal codenames to refer to other games?

I know times are desperate, but come on. ;)

A lot of people played Portal on Xbox 360 back in the day, you realize that right? I wasn't saying I was.

Sure, they played it.
Doesn't change the fact that I throw up a little in my mouth everytime someone mentions playing a FPS game with a pad.
(Heh, I remember people griping about Quake having mouse controls, saying stuff like - it's way better to play with just the keyboard, the way God intended).

If it's anything like 2, then no.

I enjoyed Sniper Elite 2's rifle mechanics a lot. If they improved the stealth and made the levels less linear (really feels stupid to have A-B linear levels in a game all about long range marksmanship and infiltration) it could be a great series, IMO.

I did enjoy the sniping, but the terrible stealth ruined it for me. I remember killing every enemy in an area without being seen, but then two more spawned directly in front of me.

I never played it again after that.

The dlc for V2 and the footage they have shown of 3 is definitely moving away from the frustrating linearity of the main campaign in V2. I'm just hoping the stealth is fixed.

I sometimes play FPS games on PC with a 360 pad. How's that vomit taste?

So there's yet another new (to Steam) visual novel, called Infinite Game Works Ep. 0, on Steam. And it's about making games, and waifus, but mainly games.

It's $10.39/10.39€/£7.99 until June 17th.

It may or may not have a "quality" script since it's from the same devs as Fading Hearts.

Am I the only one (propably not) that first saw that as "infinite blade works?

watched an entire episode of south park during the ass creed 3 credits

decent ending, no one gives a shit about desmond so i appreciate ubi making it as underwhelming and uninteresting as possible

i liked ass creed 3, it's not a very good game or anything but you know, it entertained me

But the real question here is.
How was the episode of South Park?

And yeah AC3 isn't that great, imo it's the second weakest AC game.
