Some kind of sword(not the Master Sword) is in the hilt during the battle in the woods with the biotech spider. Have to look really hard lolWhat if the bow is the main weapon of this game and you don't even have a sword?
Perhaps it's a co-op partner? A friend of Link's who accompanies him on his quest, who is AI controlled if you don't have a second player.
If that's not Link it opens up the possibility of voice over for the main character. I'd prefer no voice though.
I have a financial interest in this being a girl (someone took me up on it). I feel pretty good about my bet.
I just think this was smart marketing. He's got people talking about it more.
At this point I just don't want them to make the timeline too messed up. Having Zelda save Prince Link would impact everything about the lore they've created. The game in isolation would hold together, but when people speak of the legends, they only speak of one story.
Could backfire though when people find out it's just regular ole male Link, only prettier.
I don't think the uproar will be that big. If at all. We're used to good ol' regular Link. If it is him (which is think it is) then it's business as usual. I personally don't want another character.
Maybe the ancient tribes? Before they were cursed by Hylia, and divided in the Gerudo and Twili people. The wrist wrappings remind me of the Gerudo tribe and by extension Ganondorf.

Just a little fan fic of mine, nothing special
Wasn't there a chart from Aonuma about things he wanted to change in Zelda and one of the things listed was "single player"? I'm with a lot of people here thinking this may be a co-op partner, and that would be awesome.
I'm fine with it being Link, but I'd love to see a playable Zelda, either as a temporary playable character, a permanent one who plays alongside Link, or an optional one you can choose instead of Link.
Beg to differ. Look at the new art style.
This is an interesting and alarming trend, and I'm hoping Polygon will be able to use this data to make a projection about how many female Links we'll have in the future.
Probably not relevant, but Aonuma did say that "playing by yourself" was one of the conventions they wanted to re-think.
where is the pie chart?
Nintendo is sexist confirmed.

In the Zelda games with male protagonist we've encountered about 38 sages.
In the Zelda games with female protagonist we've encountered 0 sages.
Thus, I believe that Zelda Wii U won't feature sages as non-playable characters relevant to the plot of the game.
This motherfucker is trolling us all.
If Nintendo announces that Link is a guy, which trend dictates he is, this thread is going to be filled with great quotes such as "I can't believe it's still being debated. THAT's A GIRL"
It can go either way. But which do you think is the most likely? That Nintendo and Japan, which have a big cultural thing on tradition, would change Link's sex? Or that people are over analyzing and making themselves believe what they want to believe. Wait for the confirmation before it becomes truthfact. And if the other way?
Can't wait for the screen caps of hundreds of posts, with big text underneath in bold impact, ''fucking told''.
That's a genuinely good point.WHAT IF IT'S ZELDA GUYS???
