Bloodborne leaked gameplay trailer (new leak, early footage)

I want a PS4 for The Order and this. My god, especially this. Sony is crushing my heart because I know that I can't resist Halo, but Bloodborne looks soooo good. Especially since I put nearly in 800 hours in DS1 and about 300 in DS2 and somewhere in between those two for Demon's. And that leaked gameplay.... ohhhhhhh.

But maaaaaaaan.

I know this is an extremely uppity/spoiled way of addressing your predicament, but... Just buy both systems :).

If only the solution to that was so simple. lol, it's alright, though. It's not even console wars, ain't nobody got time for that, though. It's just that I'll likely only be able to afford/get one console for a good while.

In the end, I may end up buying The Order and Bloodborne and try to play at someone's house who has a PS4, but if Bloodborne has multiplayer (I haven't been keeping up, because it hurts so much) I'm done for.

It does have multiplayer. If you're planning to invest 300-800 hours into Bloodborne, would playing it at someone else's house be that practical? Get a PS4, it is the one true answer.

But seriously, wait for more info on Bloodborne and Halo, either one can end up not appealing to you in the end.

Some weapon observations from the trailer, first the obvious:

He's blocking with his shotgun and axe! That looks so badass.

Halo collection is coming alot sooner than Bloodborne and The Order but sadly I doubt Sony will have a price drop until summer or fall of next year. We should get more info on Bloodborne at TGS and Gamescom though so wait until then at least.

I love Halo too much, though. Still managed to play Halo 4 to nearly max rank even though I didn't really enjoy that game, plus I've bought every game at launch since H3 and H2 was my first videogame ever. Sooo, kinda at an impasse there. It doesn't help that PS4 gets better multiplats, too.

I am actually disgustingly burnt out on Souls. DS2 has left a little bit of a sour taste in my mouth.

I love that Bloodborne is making a number of drastic changes.

I absolutely adore that the word 'soul' isn't in the title.

If you are using a console for multiplats then yeah PS4 is the best choice. If you can wait on the Halo collection I could see the XBO getting a price drop before Halo 5 releases since that is looking to be a Fall 2015 release. Sort of a rock and a hard place for you sadly.

Well the master chief collection does come out before bloodborne, so maybe you could buy an xbone for that and then see if you can temporarily trade your xbone for a ps4. If one of your friends owns a ps4 and doesn't really care about bloodborne but happens to be a massive halo fan, a swap could work out well for both of you. Other than that, you could just save up for both consoles... I know that isn't always realistic, but if you have the means and want both, go for it.

It won't make things any easier, but both games will be better if you play them at release. I imagine the community for the master chief collection will be huge around release and bloodborne will be more exciting around release as there is a communal sense of discovery whenever a souls game releases.

Top right corner.....lava area confirmed :D...or is that a light

Let me preface this by saying that I think DS2 can be a beautiful game, both artistically and technically, but man, this gif looks as if it could belong right at home in Drangleic and hence, looks pretty underwhelming as a PS4 title.

There is no doubt that, had they shown this trailer at E3, it would have been torn apart at some stage re: its graphics. Even I - someone who has nothing but love for the Souls games and believes that graphics are far from imperative here - would have raised a few eyebrows at its "dated" look.

Very glad that they've spruced it up something shocking.

Does anyone get the feeling that bloodborne is gonna be closer to character action than the free form adventure RPG that demon's souls and co were?

Not this again. Please read the old threads or better yet go watch Giant Bomb talking about the preview. It is DS under a new name with shields removed. To compensate for no ability to block damage 100% they added new dodge maneuvers. This is not DMC.

I'd go for the new game instead of paying for old ones you probably already have ;)

unless you're talking halo 5 of course :p

No there is block in some footage but it's with weapons only and probably only partially effective. More as a last resort thing.

Well, that's essentially the same thing. The gun is clearly there to 'stagger' the enemy so that you can continue the onslaught instead of pause, block, pause, attack. Less methodical and more instinctive.

My guess: Weapons will have different functions bound to R1/R2 like previous Souls games, but they won't necessarily be segregated into light attack and strong attack. The functions also probably change depending on which mode the weapon is currently in.

I would also be okay with off-hand weapons only only using one of the left shoulder buttons and turning the other into sprint and/or dodge. Yes, it would wreak havoc my muscle memory, but I like the idea of having dodge, movement, and camera control available at all times.

You poor, unfortunate soul.

Seriously though, you must be a truly die hard Halo fan if you are willing to pass up a game that you will likely sink hundreds of hours into, as well as the better multiplatform games for an entire generation. I don't know, Halo isn't what it used to be back in the day, but that's just my opinion. I am finding that what I have played of Destiny has been a better "Halo experience" than any actual Halo game in years for me.

If you were ever using shields/blocking as anything but a last resort in the souls games you were doing it wrong tbh, dodging takes less stamina and doesn't potentially cause staggering along with not having to worry about elemental damage, so blocking should've really only been for those situations where you've kinda fucked up and as a result have no time or room to dodge. Completely removing 100% damage reduction helps make this more obvious, it's what FROM should have done since the beginning.

i cant help but notice, this time the gear his wearing is like on fire instead of bloodied like in other videos

Just looks like it's was way too early to be shown. I think it's just unfinished shaders, same applies to the bright purple feathers particles like that will presumably be affected by shaders further into dev.

Holy crap, how did I miss this all last week? This is a million times better than the stupid CG trailer from the conference. The game isn't noteworthy for its graphics (although I think it looks great), it's the gameplay and art design that stand out, and this shows those off much better.

2015 might be the best year ever for videogames, if all the potentially great stuff on the way pans out (and isn't delayed).

About the graphics, they definitely received an upgrade since this gameplay trailer was made.

You could always get a PS4 for Bloodborne and then an XB1 when Halo 5 releases. Halo:MCC looks good but new games should take priority over remakes, I think.

I'd actually love for them to go back to the graphics seen in the leaked trailer if it means they can achieve 60fps. With the faster gameplay 60fps is all but a necessity now.

It doesn't seem like it's going to be notably faster, just more aggressive. I'm fine with 30, I just hope they really maintain that. It's so pretty though, I'm glad they're pushing it graphically.
