This is a HaloGAF OT. Not a Halo OT. It was explicitly laid out that a week after E3 we could initiate the revival of the community - we wouldn't use GAF voodoo to bring back Halo ourselves. The reason I went with a subtitle and not a number is to hammer home the fact that HaloGAF is back, and not just an extension of whatever survivors there were of the hiatus. It was also the first time the Halo community itself on GAF had to be suspended, even though fragmentation / compartmentalization in the past may have threatened community integrity by "splitting the playerbase."

The successor to this thread can just as easily go with OT21. I made this thread with the intention of informing people that not only Halo is back (with the MCC announcement information), but that HaloGAF is back, and actually put some specific rulings in the OP to try and avoid any more snafus and give Ghaleon / bishop / other GAF moderators an easier time overseeing the thread. New threads for new news, meaning Halo |OTs| will live on with specific game releases or "Master Threads" as is the case with the Master Chief Collection thread, while this community thread is specifically dumped in Community so that the community can have a sense of community. Y'know, because community.

Too busy actually playing halo all night. It was weird.

If it makes you feel any better, it wasn't some big orchestrated thing. I just got up early today and after the usual coffee / youtube wondered "hey, I wonder if anyone revived halogaf yet." Spent about 20 minutes typing up info and shrinking images, and then boom, OTA.

I still love Wahrer, but don't like this Sub-Zero fellow tho.

If Wahrer wasn't banned, he could actually use his updated logo. He was finally off the streets, off LSD and finally cleaning up his act. What a way to go, and so young, too.

So is Ghaleon actually back in action? I remember him bailing when 4 came out, but don't remember the specifics. I used Neogaf pretty sparingly once I stopped playing 4, but with the MCC coming out I'm back in full swing - although I was never really part of the Halogaf 'community' in any real sense, I still posted fairly frequently in the Halogaf OTs back in the day.

It's a bit weird having Halo discussion split between 3 threads though...

Multiplayer. Firefight is pretty fun, I usually play a few matches whenever I'm online (in games that offer it)

What is your favorite playlist?
Right now in halo 4, Capture the Flag. 5v5 works well on those maps. BTB is fun but the DMR and ordnances ruin it for me. All time? Probably ranked BTB in halo 3, squad slayer in reach, team objective/skirmish across the board. And unlimited slayer of course.

Multiplayer but I've had many a good time in Campaign and Firefight. Was a while before I got LIVE.

Invasion. My favorite type being objective whether it's BTB or Team.

I was heavily in the pro-Halo 4 defense force pre-launch and I haven't put in Halo 4 since... *checks waypoint*... August of last year. I had fun with the game at points (mainly BTB) but it has some issues that keep me from returning.

Can't wait to play Halo 2 online again.

I've been a fan since Christmas 2001 when two of my friends got an Xbox and Halo CE for Christmas. It wasn't until the next Christmas when I got my very own Xbox and Halo CE.
And yes, I have played all the Halo games except for Halo 2 Vista. Been playing online since Halo 2. Those were the days, indeed.

I love the outdoors. I spend most of my time up in the mountains of Utah, but when I'm home, I game. At the moment, BF4 on the Xbox One is my jam.

Oh, and I also play acoustic guitar in my spare time. Always need a guitar within reach!

As far as my Halo game goes, I'm not really good, but I'm not really bad either. I guess you can consider me borderline Casual, but whatever lol. I just love playing Halo. By the way, Custom games are gonna be bananas with the MCC!

EDIT: I think I should also mention I've been around HaloGAF since right before the Halo 3 OT got closed. I didn't post in that thread, but I was pretty active in each OT since the ODST OT.

Hopefully they can have a nice mix of arena and BTB sized maps. I love what vehicle battles can add to the gameplay and Halo 4 was a massive dissapointment in that regard (the maps themselves weren't much better aside from DLC). Was hoping the Mantis would be more akin to the Prototype suit from Legends. If they increase the player cap a bit too then that's just frosting on a delicious destructive cake.
