I've just been watching gameplay videos of the multiplayer on PS3. Very excited, I am going to eat that shit up. I haven't seen anything of the single player so I'm glad to be going in spoiler free for that. I gotta order a good gaming headset too so I can get that surround sound experience.

Man, I keep saying that this MP is the best I have ever played, and a lot here seem to think so. Everyone should give it a try

Note: there has been no purchases or auto renewals that would have emptied my PSN wallet.

I suggest you wait, but if looks and performance is something that you don't pay much attention to, play it.

If i were you, I'd try my best to wait. You're going to get a PS4 anyway, right? So you may as well just wait and play TLOU for the first time in 1080p 60fps glory (with extras).

I got my $10 refund today. I was surprised it went straight into my bank account and not as a PSN credit.

You never know if they are going to pull a "spend 50-60 and get 10 back" thing again. Only reason I am waiting for my PSN purchase as well. I don't get anything extra by pre-ordering early.

This game will sell at least 300K on its first weekend. If you'd like to bet profile pic & statement for a little bit of fun, we can see who ends being right. There's plenty of people who will buy TLOU that didn't have a PS3. My buddy is and I gave him my PS3 to finish the game, and I'm pretty certain his brother will when he buys a PS4 at the end of the year as well. There's no way this game doesn't sell 1 million copies, but I believe it has a decent chance of even selling 2 million.

You should expect them to look mostly the same, but without the telltale signs of pre-rendering. You can even see it already on the E3 trailer. It looks sharper, less blurry.

Cutscenes are still prerendered, just at 1080/60 instead of 720/30.

Avoid TLOUR threads/articles/videos and you will be fine. The wait will be hard, but the pay out will be oh so sweet.

I am pretty sure he read wrong but from my understanding you can determine if a game is realtime or pre-rendered by anylysing video. I think total biscuit recently made a video about why uncharted 4 trailer was real time.

Can't wait to try it out. From what I've seen so far (YouTube ps3 footage), this is probably going to be my best 3rd person mp shooter right next to Gears of War.

Looked very intense and highly team-based, which I like. Also, players don't seem to just die in 2 shots like in Cod, but have to really fight for their kill.

This. Also let's not forget how seamlessly the single player crafting and mechanics move over to the MP

I hope there's some kind of deal for existing owners so that we don't feel fleeced. Otherwise, I guess I just wait for it get to half price or so, either on sale or pre-owned or whatever. There are enough new full priced games coming out that a re-master at full price, even if it's TLOU isn't that enticing.

Naughty Dog has outright said that they're still prerendered. The engine likely still needs to play video at those points. It would have been a huge effort to change them to real time. They just rerendered them at 1080/60 for visual consistency.
