I don't understand how is this going to make July 2015. They haven't even started shooting.

I'm concerned about that, as well. Wikipedia says shooting should've started "mid-2014", basically around the time Wright left. I'd rather take a delay than to have a rushed product. If they set their schedule right, they could still finish it up in time, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Marvel delay it for at least a couple of months.

For the uninitiated like me, this doesn't really look like it should be taken seriously just based on name alone. It just sounds like a parody to me.

Gotcha. There was supposed to be a flashback to the Hank Pym era of Ant Man in the movie somewhere. But that may have died with the Edgar Wright version of the movie.

They claim the film actually begins in the ’60s, with a young Hank Pym as the first Ant-Man using his tech to battle communism as a spy. Pena’s character is introduced here so think Cuban Missile Crisis. Then of course, we skip forward to present where Scott Lang (Rudd) is introduced, along with another villain. Pena is seemingly still active as a villain in the modern era too from the sounds of it.

For that reason alone, Dredd and V for Vendetta are two of the best comic book movies ever. I forever will give props to Urban and Weaving.

Marvel is definitely better about it but Cap always loses his helmet 3 minutes into every fight and Iron man removes his helmet or pulls it back in for every dialogue scene. At least Marvel tries to put costumes in and not just put everyone in generic leather pants.
