i don't know what coherency you seek since it's obvious that the anime is intended for people already familliar with the game plot or with the previous anime.
With only so "few" episodes , the true end already adapted, there is no reason to make an anime if not to treat the new events from" golden"

I've seen so many people who don't understand what Golden is supposed to be, I don't think I've ever seen so many people collectively miss the point of a show in my life (not taking a shot at you Shard, just in general)

This was a big mistake on the staff's part, you see in the manga
Tsukiyama quickly and without notice cuts Kaneki's skin with his finger nail after he crushes the mug while in the anime they forgot "Ghouls can't be harmed by that weaksauce shit".
So basically what it all boils down to is that shitty adaptation is shitty.

yeah that's what I have heard, that there are a number of things skipped in the anime and the end result is what happened there... anime only watchers being confused by things that were explained in the manga but not in the anime @_@

I feel like with akame ga kill I might have to read the manga that is covering what is adapted on a weekly basis to figure out what was missed so it flows better :/

this show is just bad. I don't like to drop stuff so I'll keep watching but not expecting anything here.
is the manga somehow better?

Seriously, what is it with Japan and
brother/sister incest
?

Again, interesting visuals and an intriguing tale. Girl was pretty cute as well.

As an aside, I see that Toei was behind this series, but the posing, cuts and acting remind me of Shaft.

Baccano! 13

Somehow they managed to wrap up at least 5 different stories satisfactorily in 22 minutes. The time skip at the end with Isaac and Miria was great.

Baccano! Series

After the first few episodes I wasn't sure what to think of this series. There were so many time jumps and so many characters to follow. Everything was out of order and most of the time I had no idea what was going on. However, once I got used to the style of how everything was done it started to click and became much more enjoyable.

All of the characters were great. There were a lot of them but I felt a good amount of them got some character development and background which is impressive for such a short series. The way Czeslaw's character was handled right at the end was really well done and I was quite impressed with him. Isaac and Miria were the silly comic relief character but they never got annoying and were consistently funny. Ladd and Rail Tracer's ideologies and morals were very interesting in how they saw the world and others around them. If I could see more of any character it would be these two.

The music and animation were great. I liked the style they used for the character animation. The OP is great. Narrative wise, the style was very different. I'm not sure if this worked for the series' benefit or not but I quite enjoyed it.

I give the series an 8/10. I know there are OVAs that follow this series and I'll probably give them a watch eventually.

Watch the OVA! they go more into Claire/Rail Tracer. Also Grahm Specter.

Just watched the Toradora OVA which I didn't know existed until today and then rewatched some of the episodes. Dem feels man. I just looked up the author and saw that they have another series called Golden Time. Is that one worth watching and does it measure up to Toradora?

I really like it, but be aware there is a really stupid plot point that almost ruined the ending for me (and ruined the ending for many judging by the reactions people gave here).

The manga is significantly better, all the dumb actions inconsistencies are because the staff chose to gloss over the finer details, like with this episode where Kaneki stupidly chooses to go to the Ghoul Restaurant right after hearing about it.

Golden Time was abysmal, don't waste your time watching it.

Zankyou no Terror Episode 3:

Wanatabe is very clearly a fan of Law and Order and House MD as Shibasaki feels like he just stepped out of an American prime time drama. He presence has certainly made this a better episode, indeed this was all around a better episode with a better riddle and the first real hinting at the motives of Nine and Twelve. I do appreciate that they are trying hard to get me to care about Lisa, the direction and the sound design are top notch, but I still don't know why she is a character in this anime.

now now golden time was fine, it's wasn't as good as toradora (overall but it had more high parts and a lot more low parts... as far as I can recall i am slowly rewatching toradora), but it was still a fine watch overall, a good watch if you can rewrite episodes 6-18 (or so) into something more interesting in your head >.>;

I preferred it over Toradora, but some elements rubbed some people the wrong way.

The episodes that deal with Banri and Koko for Cocoa puffs being
a cute couple
are great. The episodes dealing with the gang just hanging out being friends are great.

Every episode there's drama added by a certain 2spooky plot device is stupid and brings down the show as a whole. If it wasn't for those scenes/episodes it would have been a better show than Toradora. But melodrama seems to be this author's preferred method of creating conflict.

I haven't seen 4 yet, but 3 definitely skipped around smaller details and with what the OP is implying, they will be skipping a bit overall. Just read the manga.

Golden Time is honestly a completely frustrating mess but Koko is so wonderfully cute and crazy thats its worth watching for her.

Golden Time is fine. The only real issue is that the MC's "quirk" that is the predominent source of all drama progresses into something kind of stupid.

I wish I knew this before I started The Second Raid. Though now I can't remember at all where I was in the show since I stopped when I learned this fact. I should get back into that show.

It's not at all a big deal. Fumoffu's content can be watched whenever, really. The scene where Tessa looks at this photo isn't very long, so you can watch it whenever. That tidbit is more just to cement the fact that it does take place prior. Nothing in Fumoffu will really be referenced in a major way in TSR. I like to watch it prior to TSR though because I think it does a good job fleshing out Sousuke and Kaname's relationship.

Heck I have introduced people to FMP on fumoffu before as it's so stand alone you just need a brief history of the characters to get it lol.

There are certain members of GAF who say that Fumoffu is all you need. These people are charlatans who are no doubt in cahoots with the ne'erdowells who insist you skip ZZ Gundam.

How serialized are we talking about here?
Person of Interest has a multi-season arc that is still on-going. It is a drastically different show now than it is when it first started.

Elementary seems to be having season arcs, the first being about Moriarty the second being about Mycroft.

I liked the first and second raid, but fumoffu is undoubtedly the best series with the best use of its characters.

fumoffu is one of the best comedies out there period. the overall quality might not be as high as some other comedies, but I am hard pressed to think of another show that I actually laughed out loud at (it's a rare thing for me to actually vocalize a laugh while watching a show, at best they usually get a heh)

There is no denying that fumoffu IS the best season ( as much as i liked how second raid was handled )

Of course if you can watch everything in order , that's the best option.

Gintama bro.

Will anime ever attempt to imitate successful western tv and make an episodic seinen crime noir detective show? Where the main character is a horrible human being but a damn good detective? And there's at least 2 failed marriages?

Gintama bro.

i've tried... and found the first 20 episode hella boring... maybe 1 or 2 funny moments in the entire 7 hours of watching...
I am gonna sit down and read the manga some day when I catch up on some others I read in hopes that I can get to some point where it gets better (and then pick up the anime from there) since it's so praised... but currently it being well regarded makes about as much sense to me as gangnam style being the most popular video on youtube.... I just don't get it at all and don't see why it's talked about at all.

The video camera addition and Marie's overall integration into the 'plot' insofar as it exists so far is pretty great. Art still janky though, some of those beach scenes had some pretty bad proportioning

It's really not funny or entertaining in the slightest

If you've read any person talking about the show you'd know that the first 20-25 episodes are extremely meh, but that the show later skyrockets and never stops. Watch at least 10 more. Trust everybody that has watched the show that it gets WAY better. If I had seen only the first 20 I'd have dropped the show. Plus there's like 200+ episodes. So 1/10th of the show is bad, which is a pretty good record.

Reason is they're still introducing characters, haven't given them much space for comedic roles yet.

I'll eventually continue.... I am leaning towards reading ranma 1/2 and then ah my goddess... so after those two maybe I will read some gintama and figure out where/if it becomes better as it's easier for me to commit my time to manga that I have problems focusing on then subtitled anime I have problems focusing on (if it was dubbed it would be a different story)

I like Ranma 1/2 as much as the next guy who watched it back in the days, but it doesn't compare comedy wise. I mean unless you're watching for the author's famous "will they won't they" romantic leads she loves to write about. Jesus christ change the formula.

First 20 or so episodes are pretty slow because its pretty much introducing all the characters. Then it hits its stride by giving you splendid character interactions. And then serious Arcs start appearing which are really great. The series is great at blending comedy, feels, and drama brilliantly. It takes time since its slow in the beginning, but once your hooked your hooked. And unlike most shonen it isn't about power levels and all that. It has a lot of dept and you'll appreciate that. So I'll just say continue the anime it will get good, trust me. Its a series that has made me cry.

So...basically from what I understand here,
these Scub Coral things are essentially Spiral life-forms, in the sense that this Great Wall thing they're involved with breaks all the laws of physics. And if they're allowed to awaken completley, they're gonna go Spiral Nemesis on everybody?

oh, I wasn't planning on reading ranma or ah my goddess for comedic sake, they are just on my list of things now that I have a tablet that I would like to see the full story and stop caring that they have never made a proper anime to tell the whole thing :/

most of the stuff I am reading now is just complete manga that had an anime and never got another season to finish it off... it's allowing me to hold off on catching up on stuff that recently had an anime season and may or may not get another one... as I prefer to not know the story when I watch an anime for the first time as I already get annoyed when anime stalls for time... it's way worse when I know exactly how they are stalling for time thanks to knowing how long certain events took lol.

again, I will watch it at some point, I am still working on getting my wife caught up on detective conan lol...

i remember gintama in anime ..i honnestly went it hoping to watch 12 eps and i stopped after ep 3 ( i was just THAT bored )..
Then much later i continued and went up to ep 12.
I thought that was better but still not it ..

Weeks later i went up to ep 25 and it was alright , and then after that i couldn't stop
Gintama has a massive increase in quality you'd wonder if the team that made the first 20 eps and the rest of the anime is different.

Gintama is one of those anime that need time..even characters i hated at the start ( sa-chan , shinpachi , katerine ) i now enjoy them. BUt damn if each of their start as characters wasn't rough.

On the edge of my seat, eyes glued to the screen— this show has captured my attention on a spiritual level. I'm 100% along for the ride on this one. It's fighting tooth and nail for the top spot of this season.

It's funny how it seems when questions are raised about something in an episode, it's addressed pretty rapidly in the following episode. I really think they've managed to establish a solid cat and mouse type scenario that pretty much has limitless potential in the direction it wants to go. I wonder if the majority of the series will be these sort of one-off type scenarios, or if from here or so on it'll be a procedural unfolding of a larger event.

Oh you'll eventually love elizabeth especially in Benizakura Arc. Its only a matter of time when you get back watching the anime.
