Small changes you'd like to see in Destiny

More gun variety -- absolutely loving this game, but the gun variety is painfully low. The primary guns also have a very similar look/feel. For a loot-based game, they really need to improve on this, though I suppose at this point in the development process it's simply too late.

I'm starting to question if destiny even is a loot based game. The more I play the beta the less it seems to have in common with games like borderlands. Very little loot drops, and even less if you exclude boring white items.

Let me shut off the HUD elements. I hate the damage numbers popping up. And it's more like Borderlands than it should be because you can't turn it off in Borderlands either.

1) More gun variety, adding custom sights, silencers, grips e.t.c for each variation of gun, even more colours of each so they look a little different. Heck even just different bullet effects (plasma/railguns e.t.c), even if the damage is roughly the same it would let me create custom guns

2) More variety in clothing, Most armours for warlock are minor colour swaps, i want capes, cloaks, hologram backpacks, massive horned helmets e.t.c

3) Ability to tweak my characters appearance from the tower, hairdresser or some other way if i want to add a new tatoo or change my hair / face

4) When selecting old russia / explore i want another map to allow me to choose what section i want to spawn from

5) Make grouping with randoms alot easier then having to open party chat.

6) Give me some custom ghost options, keep the voice, but let me choose other variety of ghosts/colours e.t.c e.t.c

7) Give the world some more story/lore, terminals, papers, anything that gives us a backstory of how russia turned to shit other then just "the darkness"

8) Toggle flashlight on/off and maybe even choose a flashlight colour.

9) Easier sharing of items, i often have the same armour and would love to just give it to a low level random for some glimmer or something

10) Move the SUPER IS CHARGED message so it doesnt stick out in the Middle of a firefight blocking my view.

-I would like a way to change at least the characters markings or hairstyle, for a price of course.
-toggle helmets at the Tower
-little side games to do at the tower
-increase ammo/loot drops

just minor stuff at this point

Probably already been posted but the ability to delete items from your vault would be nice. Having to transfer to character, then leave the vault to delete is kind of a pain when you have no slots left.

1. Make the vehicles hijackable
2. Make the tower bigger and give it more life
3. Give us more things to do at the tower i.e: gambling, picking up side missions, stuff like that
4. Let us voice chat with our teammates in the crucible
5. Give the warlock a better class item

Some of you guys think that the tower is the FULL tower..

You have no idea how big it's really going to be. There is a whole other section, and locked doors just like in Explore.

Shops and vendors that aren't even set up.

Yep, definitely a lot of locked areas on the map

Fireteams should be set to default PUBLIC.

I disagree, I just think 'Join Fireteam' option shouldn't be greyed out, but when someone goes to join you, you can accept/deny Join requests on the fly; unless you're on Public and anyone can join Freely.

Also, they shouldn't be booted back out to orbit. God, that pisses me off.

YES. "request Join, party is open to friends" should be default you see when you try to join somebody else.

Maybe this has been mentioned, and maybe its intentional, but the PvP maps have small dips, bumps, rises, drops, crevices, and surfaces jutting out that I get snagged on constantly. I hope at least some of that stuff gets smoothed over out of beta.

I hope Bungie is reading this and laughing because they've already included a lot of this in the game.

Loved the beta, but it drove me nuts having to bring up icons that indicate where I'm supposed to go by pressing a button. Just put that in the world!

your minimap has a white arrow pointing where to go

* Add auto party option that automatically places all players who choose this option into a party when they enter an instanced area within 30 seconds of the first player
* Reduce the overhead time needed to decipher engrams with one or more of the following
  • Have NPCs in the world that can decipher engrams
  • Have option to go directly to tower from world
  • Have option to go to single player instance of tower in order to load it quicker

The main things I would like to see are the ability to rotate/zoom anything you are previewing as well as your character during creation. Be nice to actually see the entirety of the Warlocks coat when you are previewing chest pieces for that class.

Also perhaps slightly higher/more consistent drop rates on secondary ammo. There are times when I'm swimming in it and times where I can't get it back to full for 5+ minutes. Mostly just little tweaks/ quality of life stuff for me.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I'd like to see adjustable transparency for the facial paint. I wanted the blue streaks under my eyes, but they're so opaque I can barely see my eyes in the tower.

I would really like an easier way to add a member to my fire team on the fly. An option within the system that lets you observe other players in your vicinity with an option to 'Add player to fireteam'. That way if I'm by myself and come across a few random people, we can link up together quickly instead of doing it from orbit.

What happened to the Halo announcer? Certainly a million times better than the one we have now.

Like several parts of Destiny, they had to pull out their derivative options when the Halo license was no longer theirs to use on a genre they love. Halo announcer just wouldn't look good for them. Thus, a less impressive version of the idea is present.

1. deus ex vehicles....too fucking overpowered and ballistic weaponry does little damage to them.

2. limited weapon variation

3. Same enemies except for that immortal buffed up cyclops that Bungie hid by the ledge.

4. warlocks needs something else to its arsenal. Kinda underpowered...

5. Blood!!! Fallen/Guardians bleed dont they??

Game was already rated T by the ESRB

My big problem with the co-op is the lack of notification when a teammate dies. A couple of times I've been fighting the scarab, not realizing both teammates are down.

I've played a fair share on Xbox One. It's OK but not amazing.

I would never consider buying the game at all unless the following conditions were met:

Increased FoV. The 65 or 70 FoV in the current build is atrocious. I'd much prefer 90. I hate feeling like I'm looking through a magnifying glass.

Much improved loading times. Waiting around between levels for a minute is too long.

The option to have worse visuals for 60fps. I know this is going to incite possible rage around here but 30fps just doesn't cut it and it greatly dampens my enjoyment of this game.

Also it feels like boss fights are a super grind fest. Might just be my experience.

Encourage teamwork with randoms. Game is built around the concept of running into randoms in a town your forced to enter constantly to get gear, and levels with global areas that intersect other players games. But there is little to nothing to encourage spontaneous party creation and teamwork. The town is a joke in this regard. Why are all these players loaded here? NPCs would actually foster more interaction because at least then you'd be encouraged to talk to them and maybe get quests

The public events are in the right track, but due to their one and done nature (not to mention bullet spongy bosses), these do not forge any relationships or teamwork besides showing up and also firing your gun. I still feel alone while participating in these events even if there are 7 other people there

Yeah, weapons could do with some more variety rather than just increased numbers. For example, a cluster bomblet rocket. Individual damage scaled as needed. Or flames from a fusion gun for area denial.

Yep, adding voice chat would be a big step forward.

FOV was also an annoyance for me. It seems so narrow and makes it easy to lose track of things. Got a bit accustomed but still feel like I got blinders.

- Ability to see the map at any time in the hub.

- Simplified control scheme for going to orbit, interacting with other players; having to press two buttons for one action is annoying.

PC gaming is that way ---->

Seriously, if you require 60fps and 90 degree field of views you're on the wrong fucking platform. And that's coming from someone with consoles and a PC. It's not going to happen. Sit further back if you're getting vertigo. I posted info on field of view in relation to viewing distance earlier in this thread.

Yes, options would be nice but we don't live in a fairy tale world of everyone getting exactly what they want. Decisions have to be made when making products. Give a FOV option and suddenly PvP isn't even for everyone. Make 90 default and suddenly 80% complain about image distortion and squinting to see enemies. Not to mention the huge performance impact. These things you are asking for are not easy switches to pull.

Really? Changing Destiny from 72 to 90 is pretty similar to changing from 70 to mid-high 80's when they went from Halo 3 to ODST... which in my experience was a change that was just about universally praised.

Jamie Griesemer said that Halo 1's "low" 70-degree FoV (for a 4:3 window) was chosen because people were playing at 480i on 20" screens, and they wanted things big enough to be comfortably visible. Now, with almost 7 times as many pixels in each frame, playing on bigger screens with wider ratios, people are going to complain about squinting at 90 degrees? Doubtful. Even the PS360 versions would still feel serviceable (they've already got double the spatial sampling of the original Xbox Halo games, and practical outdoor combat ranges aren't really much bigger.

This probably counts as a big change, but bonfire locations in the Explore space for fellow Guardians to hunker down, rest and meet-up. ( proximity chat is open in this space )

I put this suggestion at Bungie's feedback forum for Destiny alpha, but basically :

- established areas for bonfire
- item/ability for fireteams(only) to establish bonfire locations in space ( to prevent too many bonfire locations popping up in explorable space, they should be rare )
- anyone entering the bonfire space triggers proximity chat to allow voice chat
- bonfire locations are still under potential enemy threat, so there needs to be a rotation of those who rest and those who are on watch duty to add gameplay dynamic to the bonfire
- bonfire can potentially trigger public events that are basically a large-scale ambush that scales to the number of players in that space, so that every player need to get up and fight it off to survive.

  • Have a hardcore mode in story mode where the all of hud is off and enemy do more damge. In doing story in hardcore, reward users only with exclusive emblems and apperance but nothing that will effect stats.
  • Increase vault space.
  • Ability to chat while in the tower, maybe by clicking circle ?
  • Easier method of forming fireteams
  • Reddit had an interesting idea for having 16 emotes.
  • Have some kind of clan support where we fight against other clans
  • Add hardpoint and CTF in crucible
  • Have an Iron Banner option for all crucible modes

Loading times are not likely to improve much because what it's doing is actually matchmaking. That goes without saying for the crucible and strikes but it seems that many people forget that it has to find a suitable match for the tower, explore, and missions since you are playing with other randoms.

Barely related, but on the moon I encountered a few Fallen just sitting down and chilling by a bonfire.

I of course threw a grenade at them.

-Toggle helmets for the whole game.

-Sound cues for when you powers are ready to use.

-Better class item for the warlock.

-Something to know easier if you dropped an item, in the beta is was way to easy to miss an item, in bright areas even the green ones were hard to find and the white ones were just lost.

- I don't know if it was only me, but when I tried to look down/up when I jumped, an enemy was above me or even turning around It took way too long, even at the highest sensitivity, I was playing the beta on PS3.

-FOV option for consoles(I wish this for every game from now on), I love BL2 but just like it this game has the camera a bit close.

-Open communication for whole areas / close proximity chat, or at least let us switch it on/off if some people dislike it.

-Add something more noticeable for when a teammate dies, some red flashing arrows or something like that, I barely notice the "Last Guardian Standing" when there is total chaos.

- Let the vehicles be hijackable.

-Something more noticeable if there is an Overcharged player close to you, maybe show them in the radar as another color, and when you are watching them they have an aura around them.

i don't get why they have to reset my secondary and special ammo every time i change weapon... makes no sense.

every time i want to play an encounter in a certain way i have to loot for ammo first which pretty much equals to kill everyone in the area in some other way

-Ability to warp to fireteam leader when joint a game or separated

-navy point stays up after you toggle it on

-Better load times

-Make the enemies loot drops more visible

-Make orbit just an instant pop up menu you can select locations from

-I need a better navigation system. Pressing the touch pad to bring up a not-so-specific waypoint that makes me walk slow would be somewhat tolerable if there was a mini map, but there isn't. It gets really irritating in dark corridors trying to make sure I'm going the right way.

-a way to travel directly to the next area in a territory instead of going back to orbit. The loading times are killing me.

-an option to travel straight to the tower.

-as others have said, an indicator that my super is ready.

-raise max ammo capacity slightly with each level up, if that's not a feature already. I know you can get mods for weapons that do this but as soon as you find something better you're screwed out of the benefit.

-bigger variety of beacon missions in explore mode. I've done the same 4 so many times and it's strange there aren't more. I know there are more beacons, but the missions end up being essentially the same. You're almost better off just wandering around to reach enemy spawn spot.

However you keep the ammo in reserve
If you switch from an AR with 400 bullets leftover to a SR with 15 bullets
And empty the SR, if you switch back to the AR, you will have those 400 bullets you started with

Just some things that are small and realistically doable before launch:
-An icon on the hud for the dropped loot would be really helpful, like for example when you have to pick up mission related ghosts the hud tracks where it is.
-Slight hud tweaks (straight to tower shortcut, L1/R1 in menu tabs to be continuous and not stop on edges)
-Would love to have an option of having the ghost speech coming out of the ds4

There aren't many things I can say right now since they game is not out. I do hope we have the "Toggle helmet on/off" option.

One thing I'm worried about, since there appears to be a lot of loot farming in this game is how Bungie will handle nerfing things. If I spend hours farming for some weapon or armor and they suddenly nerf it into the ground, I'm going to be pretty pissed.

While I hope that Bungie is more confident in their product than the current Call of Duty staff, who change everything based on the whining of bad players, perhaps they could give people who are in possession of a nerfed item the option to exchange it for some other comparable item of their choice.

Loot games and a heavy nerfing policy don't appeal to me very much (singlehandedly ruined the Dark Souls post-PvE experience for me).
