I really can't wait for this game. I miss Halo, but there's no way I'm gonna buy another 360 just to play for three months, lol.

There aren't many good options to play Halo on the 360 anyways.

I can't ever get into a Halo 3 match with a good host.
Halo Reach has better netcode, but nobody plays the TU playlists.
And Halo 4 is Halo 4.

this sounds really weird.

First he says it's going to be fun, well thats an opinion.

Then he says 6-8 maps in the beta, which seems false to me. Games these days rarely ship with more than 10-12 maps at launch. I don't see us getting more than 3-4. And a forge map in the beta seems unlikely but would be nice to provide feedback on.

The whole "maps will be huge" line really worries me. Its universally agreed that H4 maps are already way too big. If they going to be larger in H5 that guarantees sprint returns and basically the game won't feel like Halo again. ( but at least we'll have MCC)

It all seems so far fetched but the thing is almost all of the stuff he has said has been true or close to the truth.

Whenever I get a chance to play Halo at a friend's house, I usually opt for Anniversary Slayer. The fast movement speed, fast kill times, and total lack of armor abilities make it really fun. The playlist population is rarely over 300 and the netcode can be spotty, but it's usually good enough.

Also, Frankie says ntkrnl's beta information is bologna:

Ntkrnl was wrong about a few things, but his beta info was completely wrong.

I am late to the party, haven't had chance to comment on the MCC Cinematic trailer or Nightfall trailer. Ohh man that Halo 2 anniversary trailer is too good. I don't know which music is used in the trailer though.

Nightfall give me Prometheus vibes. Production and characters look top notch, hopefully story holds up really well. I like the setting and timing of where it will take place. Super pumped to see it. I think this will be the first time, we will watch a character in a film and a year later we will get to be in his shoes. This opens up a whole new experience, can't wait. This has never been done before.

Its all about the objective games! I got really good playing in my best friends house, i even captured 2 of th 3 flags myself and returned them to base when it was us(2) vs (4). I loved it, they kept betraying eachother in the end to capture the flag and fighting over our flag that we were able to steal their flag 3 times and capture them.

Nothing like that got my heart pumping like that from a video game in ages.

BBY is Best Buy, for folks who don't speak in stock exchange codes. And dang, that'd be a cool bonus!

Yeah pretty much. Remember when he was talking about Halo 1-4 and everyone thought that's just stupid and makes no sense. Including people at IGN LOL. So I am a ntkrnl believer now :p

btw where the hell is MCC panel? Its been over 3 days now.

Was there really any new info at the panel, aside from the Zanzibar 'reveal'?

How much pre-order skulls are there? I know of Grunt Funeral, Pinata, Bandana and Bonded Pair so far. Are they being unlocked for everyone down the line as well? Still can't believe Johnson from ODST isn't free for everyone :/

I saw some random retailer mention a Halo XX skull, but no clue what that entails.

No but they went through one of the maps I think, like they did at RTX. And they were showing the latest build, and as someone pointed out, on top right corner you see some sort of ranking system. Either way, I really want to see the detailed 1hr panel with Q&A at the end.

These are all from Xbox channel, so its a fair comparison. Now the interesting thing is, look at the views of Halo Nighfall which was uploaded just 3 days ago and compare that with any other Halo video. Is this ridley scott effect? This is a good thing, I think we will see many more new fans joining the Halo universe, specially when something from Spielberg comes out next year.

Oh, okay.

I heard that Max Hoberman was there too? His talks about the development of Halo 2 are fascinating.

Interesting stuff. I bet it's a Comic-Con effect... a new TV show trailer from an established franchise probably reaches a larger audience/more news outlets than a cinematic trailer for a remaster. (or something along those lines)

Definitely interesting to see. Is Nightfall only available through MCC? I'm not solid on those details yet.

I can't preorder yet, waiting on Microsoft to implement the feature for digital titles :(.

Nice! I still cant decide if i'm going to go digital or not.

I went with physical because A. I just prefer having a box, and B. I wanted to get one of the preorder skulls, even if they are going to be available to everyone else some time after release.

I've bought a few retail games digitally on PS4 and Wii U and instantly regretted it, I want a box damn it! Though I don't really have a problem with owning games digitally on handhelds or PC, just consoles.
One thing does bother me about the physical version of TMCC though, and that is the box art. I like the idea of it but I bugs me that they have the Halo 4 helmet in the center. To me it would make a whole lot more sense to use the Halo 2 helmet.

Well, ntkrnl said the beta will be in December and we know that's happening. So I don't know why Frankie is lying outright.

Plans may have changed but I'm gonna go with the dude who leaked basically MS's entire game plan for the next year and a half

Also said it would be contained within Halo 2 Anniversary. Frankie.... you got some splainin' to do!

He got this wrong though

Let me reiterate some of the Halo stuff, as there is some confusion and I didn't lay all the cards down.

Two versions of H2A.

Collectors Edition with the Beta access, the Halo series (not the Blomkamp one)

War Collection with the above, as well as ports of Halo 3 & 4 for XB1.
"

Of course things might have changed and that could have been the original plan. Either way I really doubt we'd get a ton of maps in a beta, also as far as having forge maps in that doesn't mean that we will have forge. They might put some maps they made in forge in just to test them online to make sure their new additions function properly in matchmaking.

I would say it depends on how many maps the game ships with. They said last year that they have a bigger focus on MP. Whether the Beta has access to 6 - 8 maps definitely remains to be seen. I know I am hoping it does!

Yeah, I definitely prefer having the box. It is kind of weird that Halo 2 Chief isn't the focus of the box.

Go digital. It's sooooo convenient, and what is the MCC about if not convenience? Everything in one place. Just wonderful.

Not having to shuffle to my xbox to change disks does sound awesome.

Going physical for this one... gotta keep the collection of retail Halo games going.

Damn. I might have to go physical.

By the way anyone wanting top quality compression for stills or videos should check out the Xbox Media site

I nabbed the screenshots and the cinematic trailer teaser, much better than YT video IMO.

Is it slow for everyone? Because its impossible to stream that video, buffering every sec. and now I am downloading and its super slow.

I'm going digital up front and might pick up a physical copy for cheap later on so it can go next to the rest of the Halo cases.

This exact thing for me. I am going to be playing this game for a long long long time. Considering I still load up Halo 3 for fun. So saying Xbox go to "Halo" would be pretty awesome. And digital version are not going to go on sale for a long time. Though physical copies gets cheaper way faster than digital.

But if there is going to be a collectors or limited edition, then its a different conversation. I will buy that first and digital later.

Playing Destiny a bunch has made me want the MCC even more if that makes sense. I loved the PvE in Destiny but I seriously can't wait to play through all of the Halo games. As for multiplayer, the one I played the most was Halo 3 so I'm looking forward to checking out 1 and 2. I'm not great at Halo multiplayer but I always have fun (something that Destiny PvP is really lacking IMO).

why do you gotta? I see no reason to keep a stack of boxes on the shelf that are in no way unique. There are millions of each.
It's not that they are a rarity or something, it's that I'm a fan enough of the series that I like having all of the game cases lined up on my shelf in order.

It's a little thing but I like it and I guarantee I'm not the only one.

I'm hoping for a collector's edition like the ODST one. 100 bucks with a special Halo controller.

I'm kinda shocked that there is no special edition of any kind announced. This game is likely going to be the Xbox1 top seller this year. Probably don't want to step on the toes of the many Halo 5 special editions in the works.
