Unfortunately that's the one thing that's off to me. Game's supposed to look smokey and grimey. It's just something that SD conveyed better. Ah well.

I will probably only play it once since I have played RE1 and REmake a zillion times but for PS4? definitely worth buying.

Well, considering they're retouching the pre-rendered backgrounds, I guess the 720p versions might end up scaling pretty well to larger screens too.

Only if you're in a country where the set age of consent and social norms are for the age of consent being 18. Remember, Japan has the 'With Approval' consent age-range of 13-18 so there's a little more of a blurred line there and heck, in Europe the majority of consent-ages are in the 14-16 bracket (with legal protections from significantly older persons in a number of countries).
It is unfortunate that Capcom seems to not be adding much to this "remastered" version of an incredible game.
Having said that, I love this game too much to not play it again with a so-so fresh coat of paint. I think a physical version can help them though! Here's hoping it sells enough to encourage them to make more proper Resident Evil games.

Technically, it should. I believe any game that gets a physical release is required to have a Platinum trophy, even if it's in Japan only. Similar situation to Okami HD.

Why did not Resident Evil HD have platinum trophy? Same goes for Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes. It has physical release in all territories.

To get 100% in the game it takes about 20-25 hours. I've played a ton of games that take less time to get a platinum.

While it will be the sad truth, given this will be digital only, those two games also had massive marketing campaigns behind them that dwarf most AAA mainstream efforts.
If REmake had that much push behind it, I wouldn't be surprised if it became a best seller in the franchise.
I'm getting used to the cleaner look, but I'll prefer the dusty look that implied musty smells.

I've beaten it probably 10-12 times, and I still don't think I can pull that off with any degree of success.
Then again I generally run with Jill on my casual plays.

REmake is one of the easier games to knife run actually. It ends up not being that much different than a speed run when playing as Chris.
