THe UK cons I've been to that happen to have someone selling figs have a ridiculous mark up. Even if you paid the highest shipping, were caught by customs and dealt with a postal service that wasn't the RM for a higher handling see, the overall cost of the figure would still be less.

That's pretty much the reason after I got my first 3 figures 3 years ago from MCM I've never brought a fig from a con again. Not only that but oftentimes the vendors are selling bootlegs without realising.

Greetings, FigureGAF! Thought I'd christen the account by making my first post here
even though I've been registered for almost 2 years
. Been collecting figures since 2005, although I've been cutting down the number of scaled figure purchases pretty substantially over the past year. Nendoroids are still fair game, though. Because they're adorable.

I look forward to resisting all your future enabling. :p

She's Mikuzukin like Akazukin which is the Japanese name for Little Red Riding Hood.

I know this because reasons.

Hopefully that reason is Akazukin Chacha.

Mikuzukin is easy to resist for me. Although it's a pretty costume design which will likely look great due to the size, it doesn't have the 'wow' factor that comes with some of the recent Racing Miku, for example.

Just got my first figma, Chie Satonaka, I wish I had figures like this when I was kid.

It. Begins.

I don't think I could handle it if were figures were around when I was a kid to the extent they are now. I'd have had no money to buy them for one thing! I guess it would make everyone a little more selective with parent-begging for Birthdays/Christmas, but it would still be tough...

Wasn't she originally May or June?
September release coincides with the OVA release so it makes sense.

I have to admit, I'm really seeing the advantages of the wait-for-bomba method. Next year is going to be different. :D

It's just safer all-around. You don't get caught up in pre-order hype, and you don't have to suffer the sting of seeing your fig for 30% less than what you paid a week after you receive it from overseas.

Are these figures still available then though, do you not risk missing out on them because you have no pre-order?

After only a few months collecting figures I think most people already have a pretty good sense about what figures will rise in price after release and drop.

Preorder only what you can't live without or if you know that they won't drop in price. Things like Nendoroids don't drop in price quickly. The more expensive the figure, the more likely it is to drop in price, but this is obviously not universally true. Also, figures in a "line" (Alter Tales figures, Nendoroid Snow Miku, likely the new Seven Deadly Sins figures) will not drop quickly as they are part of a series or figures. Some of these figures actually go up in price.

You do run the risk of missing out completely. You also run the risk of not entirely missing out but having the figure go up in price. However, many figures don't go far too from their MSRP in either direction, so patience can usually pay off in many cases for figures that aren't very limited production runs.

Anyone know the odds of this one being available after release. I don't want to buy it in Europe because it's 150EUR everywhere, not to mention the added shipping cost of 10,-. Just ridiculous.

Akemi Homura - 1/8 - Haregi ver.

I don't think the price is going to go down on this one. It's a limited production from Aniplex of a very popular franchise. You may be able to find it after release but I bet this one will hold its value. At least this is my rationale for having devil Homura preordered (I passed on this one you're considering).

Found out what happened to my Miku Nendoroid, it was waiting for me to pay customs on it and it had had its tracking number changed.

Is there anywhere other than goodsmile directly to buy their Nendoroids and stuff? Preferably that ships from the EU.

BiJ and NY. They do write lower prices on their invoices

Snow Miku is exclusive, so outside cons where GSC goes or aftermarket, no. For other nendoroids, unless you order from Japan you'll have inflated prices and late availabilities.
