New Bloodborne gameplay trailer

Well, it's no a Souls game. There aren't even shields in this game. It was never going to be Demon's Souls 2.

Yeah well before this game was revealed there were Demon's Souls 2 rumors and this game killed any hope of that.

Thats fine, 1 less person to invade me.

Excuse me? You think I'm not buying this? Lol come on dude be serious. I can be disappointed with the way something turned out and still be excited for it.

Yep. Sounds like some Warhammer: Space Marine shit where the only way to stay alive is to fight like a madman :)
Code:

I think it's a lot more nuanced than that. It's encouraging you to attack straight after, but you have to be careful not to take more damage, and not fight like a madman.

It's basically forcing the player to think in a fast(er) paced strategic manner. Awesome if it works as well as I hope it does.

Miyazaki was not there.

This is Sony X From i expect everything to be up to par.

I'm glad Sony is helping develop this. From makes solid games but their technical side is pretty miserable. If I have to run through one more fucking poison swamp at single FPS...

Holy sheet that looks nuts. The visuals look a little rough though (some shimmering aliasing and whatnot) but it's still in development so it'll likely improve. The atmosphere and vibe though sooo good ... makes me hope there's a Headless Horseman boss with that full harvest moon. Please From ? This is the perfect game to have one.

Fair enough, you just sounded a little too salty.

Really hope they don't butcher the lighting and graphics engine again. Remember Dark Souls 2, guys?
They just had to compromise because of weak last generation consoles. You'd think they'd finally be able to deliver on PS4. Then again, that's exactly what we thought before DS2 PC came out. :(

I'm a bit late commenting, but holy freakin' hell that was amazing. Day ONE!!!

I was going to hold off on purchasing a PS4 since not many games are currently released that interest me, but if Bloodborne will indeed be released within six months, I might purchase that Destiny PS4 Bundle after all [purely for the white PS4, will likely sell Destiny itself]]. Unless...

What are the odds that Sony will do a Bloodborne-themed PS4 Bundle? Given the amount of hype surrounding the game [and rightfully so], a Red/Black PS4 [with custom Bloodborne artwork] would be incredible.

The Souls games aren't stupidly difficult. You're just bad.
Let me guess. You're awesome at games.

Anyways, I played enough of Dark Souls to know that it's a game that forces you to play cautiously. You can't be reckless. Rushing in is punished because the enemies do a lot of damage and if you're not well equipped, you'll die. I know the ins and out of most of the systems. I just don't happen to think it's that fun. The game doesn't have to relentlessly keep stacking the odds against you to give you a sense of accomplishment. I can see how some might like that sort of masochistic design, but I can think it's bullshit too.

What's peoples beef with new types of challenges? If it were just more of the same we knew from the souls game, then the fear of the unknown and the satisfaction of overcoming challenges would just diminish over every game. It does not matter how much i liked the past souls games, i am going to be enthralled by the new styles of game play i am going to experience. So what if the shotgun replaces the shield as the defensive option,it brings a whole new dynamic to learn from. The heart of the souls series for me is exploring new territory i was not familiar with before and forcing myself to take action to conquer those fears.

Those gun sounds are to die for. Snap, crack, boom...they've nailed the fun of gunplay and I haven't even played this yet.

And that field of moon-glow foliage, with the castle looming a ways away! Soon there'll be caverns of ice in this pleasure dome.

No, I actually suck at games. You are just bad. *shrug*

I've been watching Kay play through the three Souls games. She sucked at it in the beginning. But she got better, and now she's great.

This is sounding less and less like both Demon's and Dark Souls. Not really happy about that. So much for Demon's Souls 2 =(.

Imagine an Uncharted fan disappointed that The Last of Us was some silly Zombie game. This could be fantastic.

It hasn't turned into anything yet. It's a sidestep to their design approach and there's no real reason to despair about the change in direction. Honestly, we probably won't know until we sit down with and really sink some time into it. If anything, I think Miyazaki and co. deserve the benefit of the doubt at this point

Damn looks amazing and I'm loving the gameplay details we are getting.
The focus on a more aggressive playstile and that "regain system" sound great.

That might be because it's not a Souls game? It's a new Ip.
It's also an action RPG so of course it will have elements from the souls franchise but it's still a new IP.

There'd be little point in having 2 idential Ip's at the same time. That'd be like Dice announcing a Ps4 exclusive IP called "battleground" which is an online shooter set in modern times with big 64 player online battles and a focus on squad and vehicles.

If you want a souls game just wait for Dark Souls 3. They'll probably start working on it as soon as they are finished with Bloodborne

BTW Sony said it releases in the next 6 months... January or February release??? Sounds too good to be true with 1886 also in February.

So like OG Xbox Ninja Gaiden then :)

Lol... maybe? Probably not quite as ehhh, ninja gaiden ish.

I have to think back to some of my 2 handed dex weapon/dodging runs of Dark Souls. You need to be super careful, but at the same time you also want the fight to be over as fast as possible because you don't want to have to keep dodging forever.

Yeah, there's no way, that'd be insane. The Order, Bloodborne, Evolve, The Witcher 3 and Dying Light all in February? That's a better lineup than any month this year.

Yet it's from the talented people who worked on those games getting to stretch just enough to do something familiar yet also different. I'm excited about that.
