This game has ruined me.

The ghost appears with creepy music after midnight and the bells. Once the ghost music stops completely, walk 10 steps (Count them) and STOP at the tenth. You WILL get the first giggle.
He's awful, lol. All he does is blame bad game design, when the fact is, he's impatient. He rushes past the clues, ignores the triggers because he's constantly zooming the camera all over the fucking place.

Just did it. But with a slight modification.
Second loop after loading.
Waited for the bell right where I came in.
10 steps. Stopped. Baby laughed.
Went to the phone. Started saying hello a couple of times. Nothing. Was coughing. Nothing. Was coughing with the mic between my teeth. Nothing. Put on some music on the phone and put it on the mic. Nothing.
All frustrated went to start the third loop (stopped the music and coughing and everything) and on my way there R3'd the hell message, because, what the hell, right?
Got a second laugh. Waited a bit. Vibration. Third laugh. Phone rang. Voi-fucking-la!

I look at these more as triggers, and there being x amount that work and this being a vague method of accomplishing it. But that might be off base.
The problem is how many random times I got a giggle and not being able to tell what I did with it. That makes the 10 steps smart, since it doesn't automatically happen just by waiting through the Lisa noises, it's something that would keep happening without a player being sure why until they focus on something specific.
The main reason I think that is it would be the only way I can see people having completed this in different ways without there being a clear reason why. We know 2 of the methods now, but I would bet there are a handful more.
Though if there is a pattern, I think it would be something like:
Related to the stop, wait, 10 steps
During the inert waiting, I stopped moving
Never moving a step, his hand in mine
I waited for it to pass.

The guy watching my stream was certain that the trick is to go through the door, walk 10 steps, STOP and wait.
That is what happened to me, but like with everything else it could be random.

Was wondering if "slide your index finger across my hand" was related to the touch pad, but nobody seems to have done that and gotten it to work.

I tried using the touchpad in many ways. Sliding my finger across it, drawing letters and numbers. Nothing happened.

I was stuck on the last part of this for hours and was getting so frustrated, and the mic thing did the trick for me as well. Just in case it helps with figuring out the specifics, when I finally plugged in my mic I just stood next to the phone and never moved. I would just say "hello" once in a while and after a few minutes I got the second laugh in the middle of the haunting noise.
Well, like everything else here, it would have some pretty specific place to do it. Don't really have any ideas that would actually make sense though.

Edit: holy shit some of the chat is becoming crazy towards Kojima and people not supporting Fraser. Mentioning sending anthrax to kojima and raping another user's mother for disagreeing with Fraser.

Another instance of this. Everyone who's posted seems to have said hello during the haunting noise - I couldn't get it to work while it was silent.
Can we safely say that this is a requirement?

I'd definitely be interested in a first person Silent Hill. I think it's scarier and was used to great effect in the demo. It's not a deal breaker either way for me though.

So I got the telephone to ring about 7 or 8 times, found a pattern that worked 100% of the time still dont know exactly why.
For sure mic on, I had done this for 8 hours with no mic and never got anywhere. With mic on I finished it 7 times in like an hour. I even turned the mic on and off inbetween loops, every time mic off nothing, mic goes on I get the second giggle somewhere.
THERE IS NO NEED TO SPEAK, MAKE NOISES, NOTHING. Just have the mic on.
Ok there are two giggles, let us not refer to them as 1st and 2nd cause there is no set order to them. Instead there is the 10 step giggle and the waiting at a lisa spot giggle. 10 step giggle is super easy, after the bell walk ten steps from the phone or radio back down the hallway, stop and stare at phone or radio. Works 100% of the time.
The next giggle seems to happen during a haunting most of the time (though I got it between hauntings once). Basically some spot where Lisa haunts will trigger a baby if you stand still at that spot during a haunting. What spot that is is still a mystery, believe me we tried every theory, we think maybe it was where lisa was last spotted but I think that is too inconsistent.
Basically the spots are:
1. The loop entrance
2. The phone
3. The mirror
4. The radio
And perhaps the basement, outside the bathroom and near the photo though that seems far less common than the four above.
It doesnt matter if you got the 10 steps giggle before or after, sometimes during a haunt stand at one of these spots, wait. If it doesnt happen go to the next spot and wait. Keep doing it you will get the giggle.

That sucks. A friend is planning to play this for the first time. I was hoping to laugh at his girlish screams over Twitch.

Yes perhaps there is a 3rd or 4th way to do this but you only need two giggles for it to end.

Running a test to see how long it takes to get the second set of giggles.
For my test I am in the bathroom looking at the fetus, repeatedly saying hello/help into the mic every 5-10 seconds while the music/sounds play.
Currently over 15 minutes.

I must be on 5 now, still nothing.
When I had the mic on I got an extremely quick giggle when I was just staring at the phone. I said nothing and it just happened. Then I did the 10 step for the second, came back and it vibrated. Took about 2 minutes, all within one cycle of Lisa noises.

This worked for me! After getting the first giggle, I tried standing at the radio haunting spot and no dice, then tried it at the entrance and when the second haunting happened, I got the laugh. Thanks a ton, the demo is beaten now! I also had the mic on, but I want to see if it works without the mic.
