Instead of making another one of these interactive movie games, I'd rather have Quantic Dream produce something with more interesting gameplay mechanics.
I'd say it's about damn time for a new OMIKRON game.
I find it funny that people still believe this line of garbage. So this is the reason why Sony doen't want a PS4 backward compatible, to release again all its first party titles :
The next game will probably have some more gameplay mechanics going from the rumours, but you shouldn't expect another Omikron. They found their type of game, have success with it and are sticking to it most likely.Instead of making another one of these interactive movie games, I'd rather have Quantic Dream produce something with more interesting gameplay mechanics.

Tomb Raider sold for less when it got a remaster at full price. Don't think this will stop any publisher.Considering the game sells NEW for 19EUR (29EUR for the steelbook LE + bonus stuff) and as low as £10 in UK, it'd have to be priced 24.99EUR/$29/£19.99 at the most.
Dunno, I don't see it happening
It's probably aimed at the 360 people, considering Sony's internal statistic apparently showing a lot of people owning a PS4 who never owned a PS3. Beyond also got caught up in the transition period.Don't really see the point honestly. I myself would see no reason to buy it again, it's not a game that gives good reason to replay it. I'm sure many owners feel similar so the sales ceiling is already pretty low.
Yes, there's the whole "PS4 can't emulate Ps3 because cell is missing", but:
-if they want, they could ship PS4 with a cell chip
The cell is not the only thing the PS4 would need to emulate, you have the split memory system, as well as the nvidia GPU. All of that is radically different than the PS4 architecture.Yes, there's the whole "PS4 can't emulate Ps3 because cell is missing", but:
-if they want, they could ship PS4 with a cell chip
-even on PS3 PS2 software emulation was impossible, then each PS2 title on the store comes with an emulator attached, basically
I think that don't allowing PS3 compatibility was more a financial plan, that a technical issue.
I don't really see how the game would benefit.
I don't think so, just because if PS3 backward compatibility was a fact, maybe a lot of people just would sell their PS3, paying PS4 the same price of 400$ with PS3 discount. But, at the same time, Sony can sall all Ps3 titles to new PS4 users.
Ask Square Enix when they remade Tomb Raider. It sold decently, but not great. They remade it to generate more sales. It kinda worked, cause next gen owners are hungry. Beyond sold decently as well (1.5m+ now), so it's the same strategy at work. Almost 2m is not "no one". Quite a few people bought it.I thought Beyond didn't sell well... why would they remake something no one bought? I don't know if that's the case though
Probably quite a bit. A lot of textures would need to be upgraded, the tearing fixed and a lot of glitches to be ironed out. The game can be quite broken at certain moments. Not sure if they want to touch that codebase again lolHow much effort would it take to port Heavy Rain and make it presentable?
God I hope not.
None of David Cage's trilogy of dumb deserve a re-release.
Once was already too much.
If it's not on PS4 I think it could be a plus game soon.I think it will happen, it's the reason I still haven't bought it.

It was 1.5m in March. So 5 months after release. 1m after 2.5 months. That's about the same as Heavy Rain which made $100m for Sony. Console exclusives selling that much are profitable sooner cause Sony doesn't need to pay license fees (~12% of every copy). It was also much less expensive obviously. Overall it's highly likely Beyond made a decent profit.1.5m in 8 months isn't that good but it could be because it was a console exclusive. I believe it wouldn't be worth the money to remaster B2S like they did with The Last of Us (which within 3 weeks of launch sold for 3.4 Million .)
Tomb Raider sold 3.4 mil in its first month which was quite a bit more than Beyond but it was multiplat.
My whole point is the series didn't do well enough financially to entice Sony into remaking it. You could be right that it would do alright because next gen owners are lacking in games but I just don't think it will happen.
You do realize Sony tried this with the PS3 already (basically having a Ps2 built in)? People didn't want and it didn't work out so well.
I'd prioritize other games before it. Beyond was incredibly disappointing, and I don't think it sold very well.
That would be great. Heavy Rain with upgraded graphics in particular.
Like Last of Us, looks good enough on PS3. I really don't see the point. But if they can get a few more sales, why not I guess.
so there's a chance now?

Heavy Rain would be better, and would gain more from the upgrade. No more screen tearing, etc.
Beyond looked pretty great as is... but it wasn't that good of an experience.
I hope it turns out to be a Quantick Dream pack or something.
I didn't like Beyond enough to buy it again, but if they pack Heavy Rain with it it might be worth getting at some point. They could also put some sneak peak of their new project as an extra
