Specific detail mishaps are the things that prove most leaks fake. You could prove every single leak true if you ignore all of the inaccuracies.

The leak came out before the magazine released showing the new room in Tomodachi Life.

So yeah, if the leak's a fake, that's one hell of a good guess, picking to show a room in Tomodachi Life that turns out to be real in a magazine that came out later.

And, as I've said, look on the creases on the bottom of the shirt even though it's mostly entirely leveled. When looking at the actual animation in the trailer, there's a lot of air space at the end of the shirt, something that mirrors Ness' official Melee render, implying his shirt is, for the most of the part, tucked in during the animation. There is no render or model of Ness that has his shirt tucked out and ending with a blue stripe, so once more, this leak wouldn't have that excuse.

Oh god I'm going full frontal on over analyzing things.

Because if you're focusing so much on getting the renders to look perfect, it's easy to overlook little details like that. For example: remember when you were doing your math homework, and you came across a difficult, complex problem? You thought about it for a while, you pored over your notes, you made sure you followed all the steps - and you got the wrong answer because you made a simple error in arithmetic, forgetting to carry the one. Afterward, you look back and think, "how could I have messed up on something so obvious?" You were so careful to get the big stuff perfect that you completely ignored that simple little thing.

I think that might have happened with this leak. It would explain stuff like Yoshi being in the middle of the Mario franchise on the CSS.

The stripes aren't sacred. They can change. Melee's intro proves it.

First image = 6 stripes with maybe a thin 7th blue stripe. Not 8 with a thin yellow stripe at the end.

Most shots of Ness could be him with an arguably tucked in shirt, there could be a 9th stripe in those other pictures tucked even further down (almost looks like it in the in-game Melee one). Like the "proof" picture, I'm going off what is shown.

Also re-reading this reply is making me contemplate what the hell I'm doing with my life.
This is fun though

The shirt in the screenshot mirrors the render where Ness looks like this.

The trophy without the highlighting makes it more clearer that there is no hidden stripe in that trophy.

The point isn't the amount of stripes, the point is it's an even number of them which in turn always have it end with the opposite color of the one it started in.

Even if they aren't always there, I really hope the playable model in Smash 4 has 'em. I've never noticed before, but that's a really cool detail to keep. That extra half stripe has so much charm.

Given the prominent shadow in the leak render indicating a roll, it could very well be the case there, as well. And again, the seam in the FMV.

I don't see any inconsistency.

This, along with the Famitsu image of Tomodachi Life, once again tips the believability in favor of it being real.

This post is directly pulling its information from the Ninka/Vaanrose leak thread on Smashboards. The quoted text is the actual information from the leak, but the preceding list was baseless speculation by the OP of the original Smashboards thread who was combining the Ninka/Vaanrose leak with two others that were not related.

The leak is definitely seeming pretty darn real, but Snake being DLC is just hard to believe. I can't imagine that Konami would be too thrilled about that.
