Ah yes, the remakes (SSU for Super Star and Nightmare in Dream Land for Adventure). I have my own squabbles with them but they're some of Nintendo's best remakes, imo.
And that's why I don't have a roommate.

I'd actually suggest against NMiDL, at least for the first playthrough. For a number of reasons, but what it did to Butter Building is tragic.
SSU forcing the B/A scheme instead of superior Y/B is criminal but the game still holds up well and plays fantastically and all the extra content is worth the price of admission.

There's the first Gematsu leak (Villager, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Little Mac, Mii, Pac-Man). I can't think of any others.

Since Dark Pit probably won't have his own trailer, it might be feasible he's just revealed randomly one day.
But I guess that's another question, if Dark Pit is a character, why wasn't he revealed with Palutena? He was in the trailer, they could have ended with him joining the fight.
Unless her trailer was done well before he was added to the roster, but Robin's was not and they added Lucina last minute.

We'll get all the reveals before October.
Game is due September 13th in Japan.
I highly recommend not to do this.

Hey guys, so as I mentioned last night, we actually have two characters tied for 17th in tonight's reveal. I might reveal the first one soon so there a bit separated.

Butter Building was indeed tragic and there are some weird aesthetic choices but I can't get enough of the music/SE and I love the mini-games. Adventure is ultimately superior, though.
My only real problems with SSU were, again, some background aesthetics (Jesus, what's up with Peanut Plains?!?) and the button thing you mentioned, There's also weaker sound, but you can't go wrong with all that extra content.
The full roster will likely be known within the next 2 weeks, as the Japanese release date for the 3DS version is September 9th.
Many people were saying that we would be getting a Smash Direct in August, but that seems fairly unlikely at this point.

What was wrong with the remake of Butter Building? I've only played Nightmare, so I don't have the original to compare it to, but I remember it being a fine level in is own right.
The original Gematsu leak is the only verifiable one. The second one fell apart midway. Chances are that was the only ever legitimate leak due to the most daring suggestions being part of the original leak and all of them going through, but the guy probably had outdated information along the way.

Kirby's Adventure had some really cool pseudo-3D parallax scrolling segments for that world, which were replaced in NIDL by, uh, waiting in a room for the door open.
While their removal is understandable since apparently the GBA didn't have the tech to pull it off, it's still weird since they took the time to create brand new rooms for other levels.

Sakurai probably wants to keep some surprises. I imagine if Dark Pit is a Lucina level clone then he will leave it as a surprise for the players. He teased it in a trailer but the character itself is on the same level as Wolf or ROB to where he could keep the character secret and let the player discover it.
Never thought I'd see this statement made.

You know, I was thinking to myself earlier: Ray 01/MK III would have been an excellent fighter choice for this game. Custom Robo is a series built around the concept of customizable robot fighters -- it's in the title. Setting aside the series' performance, just on content alone, with the emphasis on custom moves this game, if there was at any point Ray was a serious candidate I would think it would be now. Sadly, I know it likely won't happen considering the series has never been that large and is in limbo alongside a host of other Nintendo IP. I'd give anything to have a digitally/cybernet-designed arena.

Alternatively, it could be something simple where the Ice Climbers finally climb the mountain and celebrate in a dreamy "skipping through a field of flowers" sort of scenario only for ducks to fly out majestically... and one or two get zapped. Cue Duck Hunter picking them up, etc. etc.

Some 4chan anon tried to take credit for part of the leak and give context for it which made it sound all the more suspicious.
Of course since it's an anon on 4chan, pretty much everyone didn't even believe he had anything to do with it to begin with.

it's been shown the Stage Select Screen has a photo of a pic from the Tomodachi Life stage that was only shown to the public today on Famitsu leaks.
That was already touched on. The quoted material is from the original leaker, but the stuff outside of the quotations is made-up BS. Plus you have to factor in the DLC that was explicitly mentioned by the guy who released the pictures in the first place.
