The original leak with the ESRB stuff (likely ESRB footage as it's missing the 3DS hardware itself) is likely real. The DLC comment from the same person could be real, because he leaked the photos and may have heard from his ESRB friend about the DLC (Nintendo may have also shown off the DLC for ratings). But all this "smash mods say the leaker made stuff up but trust us plz" is just bullshit, and isn't even worth discussing.

Why would they put him between the clone and third party bunch though? Those two are bunched at the end for a reason, so it makes no sense for Shulk to be there. As for G&W, why is he not nearer to the bottom of the selection screen? Has his importance skyrocketed?

It's the kind of weird, nonsensical crap that makes me think this is even more real, to be honest. No-one making a fake leak would fuck up the small stuff like improper character placement. Only, well, only Sakurai would. And even if it didn't, there's a billion and one other signs saying "this is real" to the point where wonky character placement as a valid point against this whole thing being real is just funny to me.

Trust me, we'll be playing this game in a couple of months, laughing at how stupid this character select screen is.

Heath, I'mma do you a huge favor and strongly recommend you check out both Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 4 (Specifically the GCN version). Those are the two best games for the GameCube. I'm not exaggerating.

Resident Evil franchise isn't my type of games so I would pass on that but I will trying my best to find Metroid Prime Trilogy and give it a shot.

He posted a picture that detailed that composition on the major Smashboards thread last night and deleted it later. I saw it myself, though. He has the original pictures, along with several others, but is not leaking them anymore.

Several Smashboards mods claim to be in touch with contacts that have confirmed what we have seen is not the final roster, but there is no intended character DLC at this time.

Believe what you will.

I'd be okay with sacrificing Lucas, IC, and Snake for Ridley, Impa and Mach Rider.

Lucas would be a bummer but maybe Ness can get his moves via costumization (not the same I know). I'm guessing the 3ds can't handle the Ice Climbers for some reason sadly. Snake is an obvious cut (he probably needs to be revealed before launch...hope he does).

still losing unique playstyles and hvaing potentially 3-4 clones is a bummer, even if I like the design/character of each clone.

The only thing I don't like about those leaks being real is that stupid DLC thing, why would they remove veterans and put it behind a paywall? That would be really shitty.
Other than that I'd have no problem seeing those roster additions being true.

Just because we've never seen something like that doesn't mean it's fake.

Using 'Jigglypuff' on a japanese roster makes it fake. Having levels does not. That is not something that will prove it fake until the game comes out. For all we know, there is a mode where levels come into play.

Amiibos have levels, but whose to say you can't level up a similar custom character WITHOUT amiibos? What if amiibos are simply the mechanism for transferring those custom characters? We won't know until sakurai confirms it, or the game comes out and denies it.

The Klonoa 'leak' was brought down by a simple Japanese mistake. Plenty of leaks can be brought down by simple errors.

The argument right above you says more than that. There is a ton of stuff that lends to this being credible, so much so that it's more reasonable that this is simply showing something we're not aware of then an overlooked mistake on an elaborately detailed leak.

Yeah, sure... The levels with the human players also have a different font than the levels CPU players get as their difficulty. Keep believing that they would stumble on such an easy thing to do right while even details like glitches almost nobody had noticed before were correctly taken. Doesn't prove it's real, just that the guy behind put way too much effort in it to make a mistake right there. The levels don't prove anything.

And about the customization thing: It's not just an argument by the leaker. It can be seen on the screenshots, the screw-wrench icon which indicates customization says "Off". It was also already said that Miis are custom characters.
