Same here, literally everyone of my friends and colleagues owns at least a stationery PC. Most of them also have a 360 or PS3 and some of them a PS4 or Wuu. Don't know anyone with a One..

Well take that as you want as it's anecdotal evidence but from the 23 closer friends I have that do game on a regular and active basis around 18 have atleast mid-range gaming PCs.

People see the X1 as an inferior PS4 and haven´t forgotten about all the pre-180s ....the WiiU at least has a lot of Nintendo exclusives and is relatively cheap by now (which helps a tiny bit).

Based on my anecdotal evidence its more that the majority public didn't hear of the 180s.

Yep, the hype is real. I know a few people who simply got a PS4 to play better looking versions of Fifa. It's crazy.

PS4 > Wii U + Xbone

Over 50% market share.

I'm starting to agree with this, the Wii U is shaping up to be a great second console. The  Xbox may outsell it in the U.S. but I think it won't be enough to overcome the difference of the Wii U selling better in Europe and Japan. The PS4 isn't the only console benefiting from Microsoft's miss steps.

Edit: also the Wii U has a great and unique gaming catalog.

It's a price comparison website and the data is based on trends of demand/price on their website.
So their data is valid but who the hell knows how accurate this is for real demand for overall germany.

But we also have sales for 2014:
PS4: 290,000
XB1: 70,000
~4:1

If Sony doesn't rest on their laurels, they could really take 60-65% of the market share for next gen. Not resting of course would be to lower the price of the PS4 to 350$ this November and have a LBP3 400$ bundle on top of it, esp since they're already making money off the thing.

The only thing we can discuss is...of course anecdotal evidence, but I was surprised even my parents and some relatives knew about Kinect (coupled with the whole NSA spy stuff ).

They haven´t played a game since.....Mario Party 2 on the N64.

In Germany you could buy a Xbox One PLUS Kinect PLUS Titanfall for 399 euro, the same price as a barebones PS4 - and that was at a time when the PS4 was out of stock everywhere.

PS4 still sells out sometines if there is a good offer. It still has a lot of Hype here in Germany, everyone of my friends either has a PS4 or is gonna buy on at christmas/destiny.

MS fucked up, the NSA scandal is still haunting them here.

I remember a few good laughs following a few bargain blogs - they kept listing amazing XOne deals like kruis described. But a few months ago the real hot deals were PS4s without any added value for normal retail price. Those were sold out in minutes.

These days, there are a few good deals for the PS4 as well, thankfully.

Says demand is 6x, not installed base. WiiU sold well at launch then fell off a cliff, so current demand could be 6:1 in favour of PS4 right now
