Nintendo reveals the "New Nintendo 3DS" and "New Nintendo 3DS LL"

But anyways, this little quarter-step up in specs is kind of annoying. Even with this little step-up, they can barely run Xenoblade Chronicles at any kind of decent framerate. By the time they release it outside of the JP region you can consider this to be completely obsolete spec-wise (since it won't even be this calendar year). It would almost just be better to release a full upgrade next year with some more substantial changes.

Huh? The 16 gig one is only 15 bucks on amazon, and with a 3DS you only really need 16 gigs, I've had my 16 gig card for like 2 years and it isn't even 1/4th full.

Well making a tablet that would feel like a console would be an improvement. I hate tablet gaming for one reason, no joysticks and real button. The concept i tough with the ipad mini would imo put them in the tablet market when retaining their IP. When i will have some free time, ill do some pictures of what i tought.
The only people that are upset about this are the ones that have to spend "more money" that had no qualms spending more money to buy the thing and a (totally non-essential) XL in the first place. It's technology, it'll have been four years since the OG 3DS came out, it offers a substantial improvement at a pretty reasonable cost...

If it's just the CPU that's upgraded no, AA has zero CPU costs but a high GPU and memory cost

Improved 3D and battery life alone would make me upgrade. All the other additions just make the deal even sweeter.

Gameboy: 4 models
Gameboy Advance: 3 models
Nintendo DS: 4 models
Nintendo 3DS: 3 models (soon to be 5)

They just ignored userbase here releasing this "new revision". It doesnt matter. A lot of the future games will be released for this new revision. And they wont care. Well have to get rid of our 3ds if we want to play other games. And if they have some kind of sense, theyll release an add on like the circle pad which will add more bulk

Quite happy with the redesign on the original. I wanted to move up to the XL because the original was more on the small side but the XL seemed too big. Happy to see that they bumped up the size a bit on the new resigned original.

Woke up and saw this news. Not sure why Nintendo is even bothering with this. It's a DSi level stop gap until the next handheld launches in a year or so.

Especially with the fact that Nintendo made a huge deal out of Pokemon and 2DS to kids and budget mindful players, I really don't think they are that willing to shoot themselves in the foot that badly.

Yeah that would be kinda silly and really hurt business to do something like that out of nowhere. I think SD and Micro SD for the new 3DS will work exactly how it does now.
I actually think the stick looks like it'll be decent for what it needs to be, which is change the camera angle up a bit every once in awhile. Atleast it's not gonna be as bulky as the old Circle Pad Pros

It's much more likely a "Nintendo is fucking stupid sometimes" reason. If it could play GBA games as we have seen with the Ambassador 3DS, snes games shouldn't have been a problem.
I really doubt any dev or Nintendo is going to ignore the 3ds audience by making meaningful games exclusive
All I could really do was laugh at the sheer amount of entitlement bleeding from your post. I think it's hilarious that ANYONE is shocked and/or upset at the fact that Nintendo of all companies is releasing a handheld revision that nobody is forcing you to buy.
