21 euros for Code of Princess... So torn.
It's weird... I would've bought it day one at full price if it came out in stores, yet I can't pull the trigger on this digital only release. Maybe I'm just salty because US got such a fancy special edition and we EU skanks got screwed. T_T

Edit: Hmm, some of those Zelda discounts look a bit off. 37% off ALttP should be £3.49-ish, not £4.49

I guess this explains why Link was not included in the SSB sale (Metroid am cry). Still a bit weak considering it has been £19.99 in the past.

Hell has Frozen over!!! I only really want the latter (and will have to delete Mario & Luigi Dream Team Bros for it) but almost want to buy Code of Princess to show support. That is an almost though as I think Kid Icarus took that money and SD card space...

The Japanese publisher preferred to self-publish here (making physical hard to do without setting up offices and other costly things), makes me wonder why the Japanese publisher didn't self publish in America as well. I guess that would mean funding translation though...
I still think CoP price was a mistake and this sale does not resolve that.

They didn't prefer anything, they simply didn't have any other choice. No publisher was interested, as they clearly stated they were looking for one before they announced it'd be an eShop only release.

Anyway, just the TFF Curtain Call demo for me this week :)

My bad. Makes me wonder just how bad the retail market is for 3DS games as that is the only thing a publisher can bring to the table.

Thanks for this! I knew that OOT3D had a sale before but I didn't know it was better tan this one so I'll wait for another (better) sale in the future.

But ALTTP and Minish Cap are mine! (and maybe the Oracle games too)

I've got a couple tips for you to maximize your enjoyment of the game. Only use one screen as your main screen. Don't pay attention to the TV (unless you've switched displays), the zooming out is impossible to follow and is really for spectators to shout out tips. You don't need the kitty tips as the player. You should also know your double jump is an effective and stronger weapon than your regular blaster, and that your double jump is increased with increased health. It's really an incredible game so I hope these tips are helpful to you. Also, a patch is coming that might address some of your issues!
 
Pretty great week for me. Curtain Call demo alone makes me excited, then we have Sayonara UmiharaKawase on sale and the 2 gbc Zelda games will be on sale on my birthday. I'll be sure to grab them!

Nintendo definitely is getting better with sales but they still have work to do. It's encouraging to see their bigger games on sales for a bit more than 10%. That wasn't the case not too long ago.
 
It really boggles the mind that it's even possible for NoA to not have the infrastructure for cross-platform promotions, while NoE does. How does such a technological difference between regions even happen?!

Well NoE didn't know that NoA was doing Wii U to Wii U license transfers so I guess anything is possible at Nintendo.
 
Cool, Gargoyle's Quest 2 is out in EU. This should mean the US will get it soon, & we'll be one game closer to Demon's Crest.

Most likely this isn't a technical issue at all but just different policies. The systems are in place, as we've seen over and over again, it's just NCL, NoA and NoE being ass-backwards about doing what every other company with an account system does.

Even the NoE crossbuy system only works one way, so there may be technical difficulties.
 
Is Telsagrad going to be hard as Scram Kitty? I was toned down for that one because I've read that it is very hard.
I had the same fear for Unepic but somene told me to stay calm, that it's not the Dark sould of 2D games...

To be fair, it's a pretty nice game, and unlike games like Etrian Odyssey / Senran Kagura, it doesn't really have a cult following / dedicated fans (it's a brand new IP, which probably won't ever get another game. Retail release would've been pretty ugly.

Probably due to NNID not available at launch on the 3DS, and them not even being mandatory (only for free stuff, surprisingly).
 
I feel sort of bad for the Dahku guys. Chubbins was actually quite good and Soon Shrine was a fun little game for $2. I don't fully agree with their stance that the eShop will turn into an App-store like platform. It will never be quite that flooded and the quality difference between something like Shut the Box and The Fall are immediately noticeable.

Honestly, some of it sounded like sour grapes. They barely did anything to promote their games, to get the word out what made them different from the IOS versions and to get people interested in playing.

Just making and releasing a game is only like 30% to 45% of the process, the rest is marketing your games, your studios and your ideas. I see games like Armillo as a success because not only was it a solid game, the studio had/has a good marketing plan and was very proactive in getting the word out to a lot of places and letting people play the game.

Shovel Knight is another great example. They may be one of the best indie marketing stories in a while.

I kinda feel what they are saying. When games like The Letter are top sellers, and I mean top sellers, there is a bit of annoyance when other games such as Chubbins don't do as well as they hope. Esp if Nintendo doesn't try that much to feature them that much. Now there are higher profile indies then like me, who literally has no exposure. I can guarantee you games like IQ Test & The Letter have both done easily 10x the sales as mine and more so.

Granted, some of that is my fault. I created a game that is really hard to market, due to the name & art style that leaves people little confused due to the abstract nature of it all. That and Tower Defense being a niche genre in general it seems.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my sales, but I am slightly jealous :P
 
Uuuhhh, wasn't Street Fighter 2010 suppose to be coming out today? Unless the 9/1 date was a typo & they meant the 4th.

Yeah, as much as its fun to laugh at The Letter, the fact that people started to buy it as a joke and it ended up selling well...

If this becomes a trend, it really wont be good for the eshop
