Resident Evil Revelations 2 (PS4/PS3/XB1/360/PC) - Early 2015

Is there a document or something somewhere that talks about the original plan for Resident Evil 5? I see some people talking about it on the previous page.

All I remember was that Excella was originally a secretary for TriCell and eventually met her demise against one of the game's tyrants, lol.

There were several early plans for RE5. The one people talking about is probably from the storyboards included in The Art of RE5 artbook. Though it includes other ideas too..

This week Famitsu has an article about the game.

PC.

The scale and limitations of the game make more sense when playing on 3DS, but PC version is a lot better to play.

It is more impressive, digestable (the episodic nature gives the handheld roots away) and I think you´ll glance over the flaws and simplistic combat and encounter design more easily on the 3DS.

But if you can´t stand playing on a handheld, the console/ PC version is quite pretty.

So you basically can´t go wrong.
Thanks!

PC.

Mouse control for headshotting reliably. Pew pew.
Whoo-hoo-hoo, hold your horses friend! Mouse control in Resident Evil? What is this madness?
I've not played RE5 or RE6 on PC, so I don't know

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
This sounds like such a better game than what we got. Even the character design is better. Chris and Sheva look sleeker and the design they have for Excella is much more appealing than the one in the final game.

She doesn't look like the Kardashian reject we got at all, here. Makes me wonder what really forced their hand into going the co-op route, and why the character designs became more westernized.

Noooooo there should be co-op via raid mode at least. Be pretty disappointing if that mode doesn't return in this (unless they replace it with something similar or merc mode). Would be nice if they take a lot of the more old style roots that were on the ship gameplay even further through.

Ok that I could do with :D

If co-op Raid Mode returns with classic locales and characters, it'll be worth the entry price for that alone.

I'm playing Revelations right now in the hope of getting some idea of where 2 is going (man, I forgot how much I hate the low-health screen jam), and I am confident it'll at least it'll be entirely superior to the first title- a decent handheld game, but a lousy console one.

Me and Soma are playing Raid mode right now and I agree.
Rev2 being console first and foremost alone should help out a lot.
Really hope the Raid mode if we get that instead of Mercs is more fleshed out.
It's decent but doesn't hold a candle to mercs. There needs to be more variables associated with level and character. Since it really just delves into higher level higher weapon.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of having levels and random loot.

Also I hope Rev2 will have some of RE6 mechanics. I miss sliding and rolling around :(

PS4 too? So this is essentially our RE7, right?
I don't think so. RE7 is probably in development too.

Really not sure why this isn't coming to Wii U. Played the first one on wii u and enjoyed it. With the right release date it could sell well on the system. I enjoyed the way they used the game pad even if the analog controls were terrible.

If it was new gen only, I could understand, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

Will get on ps4.

So, looking at the trailer and going based on what News Bot has hinted at, could the three main characters be Claire, Barry, and Rachael?

Rachel's definitely not one of the three. Always possible she'll show up in addition though.

The Resident Evil Facebook page posted two (deleted one and replaced it though) concept arts for the game. I took a screenshot of the deleted one but unfortunately didn't save its high-res version. Looking pretty good.

3DS, it was clearly made for it and it shows. The other versions are less impressive and also control worse for some reason.

I'm still surprised how few people have played Revelations. It's such a great great game. And I agree that playing it on the 3DS is the way to go. The console versions just felt flat in comparison. I'm not sure why.

So i was thinking about the island, remember some time ago some rumors indicated that a new resident evil called " Enhanced veronica"?

What if this is all a remaster for that game or a continuation of that series? Revelations isnt part of resident evil main story and veronica was also kind of a side story, what do you guys think?

Loved the first Revelations, but no Wii U or 3DS kills this for me. Thanks for nothing, Capcom.

I feel the same.

I am not a great fan of the series, but I bought it and really enjoyed the first game on 3DS and liked even more on Wii U.

it is pretty sad see this kind of action, I know that business are business , but RE : Remake Remaster, USF IV and now this not be released for a
Nintendo platform , it is more than enough reason to not expect nothing from Capcom any more.
It seems that Monster Hunter is the only thing that is left.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
I'm hoping for Claire,Barry and Rebecca.
Split campaigns too, no co-op shit.

Open world Resident Evil would be pretty sweet.

Just imagine how PS2 owners felt, but it sucks nonetheless.

The ship portions of Revelations were very reminiscent of RE1 and 2 - I LOVED them. The other stuff wasn't my cup of tea. However, if this game delivers more stuff like the ship and stays a bit more true to the survival horror of RE, I will be buying this so hard.

Those concept sketches look rad.

The first one is the 1st floor of the original prison art.
Seems it's made up of hard edges -> it's in-game.
There's an industrial complex and a stationed fisher's boat near the right.

From capcom unity: Allison court tweeted she had no idea there was a new Resident Evil being made and says she hasn't been contacted (@acourtroom).
I'm kinda bummed (chilhood memories :/) .

Actually looking close at both of them, they both seem to be 3D.

Going to copy bump this.

Hopefully she is just covering it up because we don't actually know if Claire is in the game or not yet. Whenever someone says "I honestly don't" it probably means they aren't being honest.

the original gameplay trailers for resident evil 5 looked amazing.
sadly i still believe that gamers and the press themselves destroyed that game, so many sites and gamers complained about racism after the first gameplay trailer.
I still think capcom were shocked at all the bad press and changed the whole games story and design to include sheva so it was seemingly less racist.
If you want to see what could have been just look for re5 beta, there was a whole concept art book about the thrown out ideas.

No Chris or Jill? Awesome. As much I like them, it would be nice to have a RE with a whole new cast of rookies, unprepared for the upcoming ordeals.

Will be more something like Billy Coen and Barry Burton meeting somewhere out of total irony and then teaming up.

I'd buy that.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Takes Place On A Much Larger Stage Than The First Game

Capcom officially announced Resident Evil: Revelations 2, which will be developed by the core staff from the previous game. Series producer Machisaka Kawata and director Yasuhiro Anba talked more about the game in an interview in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine.

Several people shown in the trailer appeared to have some sort of bracelet or wrist device, that started out with green lights when things were calm but started turning red along with an ominous mood.

“It’s the most important key item,” says Kawata. “It will also become a key part of the game’s story.”

“While putting together content for the trailer, I’d normally say ‘huh, but this is a spoiler!’ and stop it, but this time, I decided to bear with it and give it out as a big service,” adds Anba with a laugh.

Famitsu notes that it looks like we’ll have to re-watch the trailer to get more hints on what’s going on. They also ask what’s with the little girl who appears to be pointing at something or someone at the end of the trailer.

“You’ve pointed out a part that’s difficult for us to talk about right now,” responds Kawata with a laugh. “Personally speaking, that’s an image that I really like, and I’ll leave it at that for now.”

He continues,”the concept teaser trailer not only contains mysteries for Resident Evil: Revelations 2, but also pays an homage to the series. Please have fun thinking about different possibilities.”

The above image is a look at the creepy island that Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will take place.

“The first Resident Evil takes place in a mansion, and with Revelations taking place on a cruise liner, so you have many stages that were set in closed locations, but Revelations 2 will take place on a lonely island located somewhere in the distant sea. We’d like to make it into something we can call ‘Resident Evil Island’,” says Anba.

“The place is much wider than the cruise liner, so there’s plenty more we can set up than what we had in the previous game,” adds Kawata.

With the other image shown that depicts what appears to be some sort of jail, it looks like the island could be something similar to Alcatraz Island, but Kawata says that it’s not completely a prison island, and there will also be other facilities as well.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be released in early 2015 for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
