Resident Evil Revelations 2 (PS4/PS3/XB1/360/PC) - Early 2015

I didn't really mind that aspect though. I mean, it was actually kind of fun to be a bit more properly "armed" ala Chris's scenario in RE6, as opposed to the "lets send a single person into a hot zone with a pistol" aspect of RE4.

Sure, it was fun, but people are worried that the going-in guns blazing scenario is becoming the series norm. Some RE6 levels were straight up large scale military missions and that's such a far cry from a single isolated mansion out in the woods.

True, which is why I wish we could have two series. I like the "going in guns blazing scenario". I also like the "single isolated incident" style as well. I don't want to have to choose between one or the other, lol.

I actually like the mainline "shootbang" action style.

I honestly don't understand why there isn't room for both the classic slower survival horror and the newer "action horror" RE6 had glimpses of sheer brilliance with its combat system. I'd hate for progress to get binned like that.

I agree, there is no need to not have both. Or have a true hybrid, Revelations 1 was not a good mix.

Action RE can be amazing, obviously look at RE4. I still think RE5 is one of the best coop shooters ever made. And RE6 had a great combat system. I am fine with RE7 being action if it is designed well, which is where the series has been getting worse and worse at.

When should we expect next weeks famitsu?
We'll probably get some leaks between monday and wednesday.

And when exactly is TGS?

I agree. I really want both. Has there ever been a series where it varies by game? If not, RE would probably be the first. If REV 2 is a Survival Horror, I'm sure no one would have a problem with RE7 being action. It's just, SH RE has been ignored for so long, if it could get some catering this time around, 7 could be action/dramatic horror, no qualms about it.

The series fits with both tbh. I can't imagine an altogether scale back or either without losing some of RE's identity. I really hope we get some Survival Horror this time. We're long overdue it.

Pls let this game have Raid haha

What the hell? You must not play a lot of RE games cause they are used all the time. Off the top of my head the only games that don't have either one or the other is RE6 and RE4.
I played as many as I could, missed Zero, Remake, Gun Survivor 2, and the Wii games for different reasons.

But seriously fighting a Hunter/Licker in the first REs is totally different you can't compare it to when we got heavy guns all around.

That's what I was predicting. Plus in Resident Evil Degeneration there is a drug to help combat the T-Virus while it's progressing, so might play a role here.

Details on 3 big titles at TGS 2014. Don't know about the cover, text is too small for me to read. lol
It looks like the special stage events they do every year to present their games and the other thing is the usual "magazine" they give for free, other years they had a dvd with trailers too.
Ah, ok. I was confused by the name and the girl on the cover. Looks like a fashion magazine or something.

Updates, let's go.

I remember Yasuhiro Anpo being the main programmer of PS1 RE1 and RE5 director.

If horror is to be expected, it's to be in the vein of RE5 (visceral/gore instead of atmospheric) and it'll be quite actiony I can bet. Just like how the zombies in RE6 ressembled those of outbreak (same director).

The only things left in the teaser that might be of interest are those:

That's definitely a reference to claire. In one shot she's seen next to a child(sherry throwback) then on her own "pointing a gun".

We had already found out that there'll be a ship part before the island (the gala is on a ship).
Other theory is since those people are wearing bracelets they might have received them by the people organizing the gala, so the logo on the wine and handkerchiefs might hint at who the bad guys are (I thought it was the Tricell logo at first).

The only unknown is who the little girl is and who she's pointing at.

So the "big Capcom game" in the next Famitsu issue is simply RE:R 2?
