So I've been playing the game for around 6 hours now and thought I'd drop my early impressions before I go to sleep

Positives

- it is a beautiful game, from the menu's to the skyboxes.

- The audio is amazing and really gives the game an atmosphere.

- The sparrow is my favourite vehicle ever. Zoom Zoom!

- Peter Dinklage is a cool dude, screw the haters.

- Open ended maps allow for self-set challenges like running through ??? levelled enemies.

- A lot of the content seems challenging.

- Co-Op invited or not adds to the experience and does indeed make the game more enjoyable.

- No connection issues besides the odd bit of a laggy squadmate.

Negatives

- The BIGGEST one, which many people have already said.. The mission design is horribly dull so far.

Go here, run through that place, backtrack, Press X to Ghost, defend Ghost.. done you have 5 seconds before you're forced to the menu.

- The beta was an exact replica of the main game. Bit nitpicky but I was hoping there would be a bit more stuff added for the main game.

- So far I rarely run into rabdom people, and it's only ever one or two people. I was hoping there would be a few more people always nearby.

- Loading times kinda suck.

- The tower feels kinda small, I wish you could see some of this amazing last city everyone harps on about to get more of a feel for it.

- Exploration still feels pretty. The world is pretty barren with very little to find besides the odd chest or hidey hole.

I haven't got all that far into the game yet, and I have only had a couple PvP matches, so this is all based on my experience so far.
the load times suck, was worried about the mission stuff, think i'll wait till its cheap

These negatives are exactly what turned me off from the beta and baffled me with the hype. I just couldnt get into it.

I actually on the other hand, sort of liked the PvP, despite it seeming too unbalanced with all the unlocking of leveling, but hated the beta/alpha mode. Hoping to see some solid gameplay for CTF and to check out the other modes.

Midnight release at our Gamestop was pretty cool. We had a gametruck stop by and host a Halo 1 tourney, got last place but it's no biggie haha

Drove by my local Gamestop on the way from home and they had about 30 people, Best Buy had ZERO people. During Halo 4 at these same locations there were about 300 at GS and about 100 or so at Best Buy.

I know we can't take anything from that, but just appears that for a game available on 4 platforms, lines are no where near what they have been for other major launches.

I snipped your post, but this part right here...the Tower is the same size as in alpha/beta huh? Pls tell me I'm wrong but I already know it is :(

Were people not expecting a disc-based game to have to load? Particularly if you're not running off an SSD?

I have an SSD and it loads a little longer than my all-digital beta. Might spring for a digital copy to eliminate loading times once cash flows are higher.

Just an hour til it finally unlocks. Planning on focusing on the story missions and just trying to make progress in general. I'll probably check out new places as I go, but not gonna spend a lot of time exploring just yet, I want to hit that cap so I can start getting the stuff that matters haha.

Anyone with similar plans want to join up to make things go more smoothly?

Many more digital these days.

time has stopped...hurry up 3 am.

Sleeping disorders suck, but right now I'm not upset at only getting 2 hours of sleep a night.

Except the wait.

So it sounds like PSN is having some issues? I'm setting up a brand new PS4, keep getting the error: "Cannot connect to the server within the time limit. (NW-31456-9)"

When I googled that error code, I found a few links talking about port forwarding. I set up my router to forward:
80
443
1935
3478-3480

Is that all that is needed? Anyone have a link to exactly which need to be forwarded?

People are always on the fence when the mission structure goes into lengthy cutscenes and large amounts of details. I never count the first couple hours of character building as anything other than a place holder for learning how to play the game.
