Square Enix reveals TGS 2014 booth map

Between Shinobi's hints at the beginning of the thread, and Kagari's backwards FFXIII post (versus XIII),".

interesting.. i didn't think of it that way, backwards = opposing = versus

shinobi + kagari not denying it is enough to get me hype
i won't be TOO disappointed even if it is not there

While I'd like to believe, how many times have someone from Square stated to look forward to new info "later this year" and nothing ever became of such ramblings? I recall some good years those hopes had people anticipating TGS and Jump Festa only for nothing transpiring and the guilty parties promising such things slinking back into the shadows at Square Enix.

I am not saying the entire world and battle system wasn't new, just that there was a lot of items and designs from 1.0 that had not been implemented yet that were resurrected for ARR (i.e the Titan weapons). Very few items actually were 'new' IIRC.
Not exactly. Perhaps from equipment and objects such as trees, tables, chairs, and so on were reused.

However, barring the major cities, the zones in the world were essentially planned and built from scratch, and populated with objects that either existed from 1.0 or modeled new. The cities themselves received tweaks, most likely so that they could render without killing the PS3. In comparison to 13-2, ARR reused less.

Just to clarify, I didn't mean anything specific by "very", simply that it's Japanese. I think Vita owners will be happy.
So what you're saying is Shenmue Life 3 is vita exclusive and will be debuted with a playable demo at TGS?

Seriously tho, i'm curious as to what SE has to show on their projects. They usually tease well in advanced for games. It'll be interesting to see if they learned some tact, and actually go for a genuine surprise this go around.

I'm sorry , can i ask you a question? some #TGS things you teased will reveal through weekly Famitsu, TGS show floor or the conf like SCEJA's Pre-TGS?

By now fans of this franchise and their zany adventures in threads surrounding said franchise are giving me far more entertainment than the franchise itself. I can't tell whether that is an indication of how much the franchise has jumped the shark as far as I'm concerned, or whether this is some weird ongoing meta-game which is part of the franchise - which would require me to pay begrudging respect and monetary recuperation to SquEnix.

So confusing. Oh well. I'm excited
for the inevitable meltdowns and hype chain reactions

Guys, where do you end up if you go backwards from Final Fantasy XIII?

XII HD on Vita, it's the only explanation.
I like this guess. It makes me happy.
It allows Square Enix to continue their mantra of delays and recycling past games but it's giving me something that I want too.

Seriously, they got two massive games in development already. I also don't see how successful any release on the Vita will be.

Clearly you missed FFX/X-2 HD's Vita sales numbers.

In Japan at least, it was roughly a 60:40 split between PS3:Vita. Which is very respectable.

SE knows they have a market there.

lmao. I feel like this announcement is going to be the Type-0 announcement in reverse. Super salty console gamers, and really really happy VitaGAF.

I guess this makes sense in a general sense. PS4 and Vita both get an HD remaster of a recently fan-favorite FF game:

PS4: Final Fantasy Type-0 HD
PSVita: Final Fantasy XII HD

It should hypothetically make everyone happy. But this is SaltyGAF, so it's just gonna make people upset, lol.

Of course it is, but it's dead everywhere else unless they make and HD version on consoles.

If that's the case, it's a whole different discussion.
While I agree with you that it would suck to have another Type-0 PSP situation where awesome games come out on platforms that aren't viable outside Japan, not every game has to be developed with a massive worldwide release in mind.

I already sense the meltdowns.. My spidey sense is tingling

"Please understand". XD, I'm looking forward what's going to be shown... what are the chances of a FFXV PS4 bundle being made once the game gets closer for release?
In Japan? Extremely likely.
... Not open world? No world map?

Fml? :(
She's laughing at the open world comment, because Nomura never said that, and we have a tendency to stretch the truth... like a lot. He mentioned world map, but that's about it.

Right. Not sure how it got distorted over time.
