Prison School 139

I'm surprised at how logical Kiyoshi was able to be under such circumstances.

No fondling will occur, Kiyoshi will resist but President will appear and misunderstand the situation, making a mess out of the situation.

Everyone has to choose the worst girl in their opinion.

no cheating though.
incoming EbaGAF

I can't see how anyone would have any other opinion regarding that.

Prison School 139

One for the ages, up there with Andreconomics and True Ass Men chapters.
I would post a panel but I'm pretty sure almost anything from this would get me banned.
Is there no peak of this work of art?

That is fucking hysterical.

If that happened to me, I would surely go "Wut?" one minute and laughing my ass off the next.

And I have the strangest feeling that whoever is translating this is having fun with it.

I know I would.

Seems like Nyamu-Nyamu is fitting right in!

I trust Prison School will one day grant us the meaning of life.

I think kanzaki is worse...

Ahh good chapter as always for Prison school but it always makes me so sad. The authors tried several attempts at serious seinen story (no fanservice or any of that bullshit), and yet this, this is the one that wins awards and sells well. It's sort of an eh moment.

Are you saying something rife with fanservice cannot be considered a masterpiece work of art? Away with that filth!

i thought they already did that with the
"i heart w.t" shirts
lol

That was but the first step towards enlightenment!

Well there are some Seinen that sell well with no bullshit fanservice like Tokyo Ghoul and Kingdom for example. In fact they sell a lot more.

But yeah what can you do fanservice sells, which is why Me and the Devils Blues didn't sell well whom is from the same Author of Prison School.

You have some explaining to do Costi-kun.

I think the angle to look at here is that the author manage to pick up the idea of fanservice and transcend it into something of amazing worth.

Me and the Devil Blues came back though. And it's no good comparing the two, Devil Blues is the clear standout from the author.

Time to read manga again. Danganronpa 2 gave me so much despair.

Prison School 139

Great chapter lol. Fondling is serious business.

Aunt Tits 139

Minamoto father is a pimp lol.

Does it make me a good or a bad person that I prefer Prison School to Devil Blues?

I should get back to playing that.
Aunt Tits 139

Minamoto father is a pimp lol.

At this point I'm expecting Minamoto to go after his "half-sister" that he didn't existed (but his aunt did).

Yeah, BB's amazing escape from the princess's barmy army would have a bit more impact if he wasn't, uh, dead in the present. At least the extensive flashback sequence is finally finished and we can get on with... whatever was happening before.

Also I've watched the Suzuka anime. I'd rather remove my frontal lobe, fry it in butter and eat it before a live studio audience than read the manga.

Aqua v2 (end)

The floating island was pretty amazing. There were some concrete explanations, but considering the magnitude of the subject matter the worldbuilding is still religiously subtle. It feels so good.
My favorite chapter is still 7 though.

My v1 post was already somewhat my full impressions for the manga so I won't repeat myself, but man. To be honest I always thought detail is the kind of thing you need to specify, because it puts the readers inside there, so this manga really changed my perspective.

Apparently v2 has an extra chapter with different MCs, but it's not translated...? If I could I'd go buy the volume right now to read that. I guess I could read it raw.
Still don't know what to do considering the Aria anime. All I know about it is that it has a freaking amazing soundtrack, is the entire manga adapted or what? Is it good? Anyone knows how it works?

Those action manga though and those are popular in their own right (hell it's probably the most popular genre). I'm not saying manga without fanservice don't do well, but I'm of the opinion he was likely hoping his more serious manga would recognised at least equally as his later over-the-top fanservice manga, that isn't supposed to be remotely taken seriously.

You can tell by reading Devil blues he put a lot of effort into it.

Count me out on Suzuka because I already read it.

Very true. Seinen or Shounen, they have always been quite a big draw.

Short Cuts c31-50

If I look past the absurdity it's a pretty fun commentary and satire on society and kogals. Wish there were more variety in the types of gals though.

A little repetitive and some parts need you to be an expert in Japanese culture to appreciate the joke.

What Did You Eat Yesterday? vol 1
If only this wasn't a cooking manga then I would have enjoyed it much more. Inserting cooking lessons every chapter is just too tedious to go through. I don't need to read instructions on how to make whatever Japanese meal you are preparing, if I cared I wouldn't be reading a manga, I would be making the thing myself.

However, outside of the dull cooking manuals sections, there is a good story here. Follows the lawyer Shiro and his boyfriend and deals with their lives in modern day Japanese society and the troubles of some of their friends and the lawyer's clients. Mostly episodic adventures lighthearted in nature, but some can get pretty serious like issues covering domestic abuse or dealing with how your parents accept your sexuality. It's also really nice to have more manga of Fumi Yoshinaga's translated.

Aqua/Aria are among my most favorite series. I'm really happy to see you like it that much.

The extra chapter from volume 2 contains a character only introduced later in Aria. So even if you'd want to seek it, I suggest to wait until you've at least read the third volume of Aria.

The anime is good and it adapts the entirety of the manga plus some anime-original episodes. It also adds a new character, though she doesn't appear much. Although I generally prefer manga versions to everything due to pacing, I say watch the Aria anime anyway because, yes, the soundtrack is amazing.

Edit:
Looking around, apparently the scans of Aqua volume 2 is actually missing two chapters? My physical book has "Navigation 09: A Hero is Born" and "Special Navigation: Cold and Pudding". What's up with that?
