It's a paid digital demo. You get a free voucher for it if you buy one of their remasters, implying you are expected to pay for it one way or the other.

Knowing tendencies of Square to fuck up, they will probably launch in Japan first, with rest of the world getting the game in Q1 2016.
I can already see this being the same deal as Doom 4 alpha giveaway for Wolfenstein:TNO preorders. 2 year wait.

It's a bonus for people buying one of their games. It's not a paid demo unless they release it separately on PSN & XBLA and make people pay for it.

Paid demo or not, I am happy to see a date for Type 0 and some news regarding XV. I think the inclusion of a demo with this game will help to make it more effective as a means of converting more of their audience to current gen. This move is refreshingly logical for a company that has by their own admission severely harmed their main franchise.

And what would make you think the would? There's no presedence in their past to make such silly pessimistic comments. FFXIII-2, Lightning Returns, KHDDD,Theatrhythms, Type-0's PSP version and whatnot have had free demos so there's really nothing in their past that would point out to them trying to make people pay for just a demo. Bravey Default even had one of the largest demos I've ever played. Dissidia 012 had that Prologus thing, but IIRC that actually had a scenario that wasn't a part of the actual game.
It being included with Type-0 HD will probably be as far as they'll go with trying to make a bit of money out of a FFXV demo, as they know that a thing like FFXV demo will help sell Type-0 HD as well.
This doesn't happen to me. Stop projecting.

The "then" part of your post hasn't been shown to be true yet. The game has been in development long enough that I fully expect the things they show today and the demo to be great. The question marks will be on the final product as a whole.

Exactly. Getting excited for an upcoming game is one of the best parts of the experience! And waiting for UPS/Fedex/etc to arrive is also pretty exciting.
After that, it's all downhill, though. Unless the game is actually great, of course.Yes because they announced it too early. Broke embargo or whatever.

I'm not sure whether the excitement for this demo is because it means that the project is coming along or because people get to experience something in the meantime. Demos do nothing for me, especially since they can change so much, I just prefer to wait for the final product.

The logical implication of this statement is that the demo will not be free for other players. You could certainly choose to ignore this phrasing and assume that they included the word "some" without thinking about it, but that seems a bit unlikely. Maybe not 100% though?

The wording of the announcement, which I linked in my previous post. We can both go on thinking whatever and one of us will probably end up right, but the wording of that announcement strongly suggests there will be a paid demo.
I'm having flashbacks to e3 2013 right now where people were sure FFXV and KH3 were PS4 exclusives because they didn't pay attention to the language of the announcements.
But we'll see.
