I guess the only HD towns Squeenix can do are sub-HD towns.
Ah yeah that's definitely not 1080p... disappointing.

If all goes according to plan, just over a year left, for a Holiday 2015 Japan release. But this is SE, so... yea, you never know.It definitely wasn't 1080p based off the Gamersyde footage, I know that...
Still years left of development at least right?
So is this game a road trip?

Idk if they've actually redesigned Stella. Square has a history of making their characters look very different in prerendered scenes from the game models. Best example is is FFX. Characters look very japanese in the prerendered scenes while the look more noumura-like in game.

That's gorgeous looking.
The fights looked a little bit.. slow? Laboured maybe?
Gameplay is my biggest worry here, really hope they nail it though.
Nomura no longer being the director might be huge for its quality.
No joke. The first FF was a medieval world with lost technology and a flying castle inhabited by robots. Hell, even games like FFVII were worlds where cyberpunk cities existed in a world where a feudal Japanese Wutai, picturesque alpine fairy tale-looking villages(Nibelheim, Kalm), futuristic fun park(Gold Saucer) and small farms where people raise and ride Chocobos. It's a world where airplanes, airships, trains, cars and trucks are all common modes of transportation, and dragons, evil jokers riding decks of cards and beastriders wielding croquette mallets roam the countryside. FFVIII, where fashion dipped from everywhere from modern(Rinoa) to cowboy(Irvine) to 1920s inspired(Edea), and towns/cities of great futuristic sheen(Esthar) and quaint 19th century Western style(Winhill), and schools could fly!For people that keep bringing it up, go back and play older Final Fantasy games.
The inconsistencies have long been part of FF world design staple.
Going back over the trailer and noticing all those old school touches(Golbins, Garulas, what looks like an Adamantoise, the prelude theme, etc.) really just brings a smile to my face. It's like Square for once new what buttons to press to make fans excited again.
Latest Stella is the best Stella.
How did everyone miss this? Hype eradicated.

Well damn. Gotta have some space for all that.It was pretty elaborate. Decca, additional mono center, two midway-omnis, two overheads, two far outriggers, and THEN the spot mics.
Not the best angle to check out where the mics were, unfortunately. Sorry.
Maybe is the Xbone version.....
lol?
Not to mention the world... One moment you're in a Renacentist Palace, the next you're in what seems to be a modern city, an suddenly you step into some kind of construction site... The setting is really weird with all that mix. Everything looks inconsistent and random. I believe it's the first time that someting like this happens with FF.
Sorry pal, Goblins and Garulas aren't "old school" and have been in almost every Final Fantasy game.
Finally someone said it.
People sure are overreacting to this.
I didn't like FFXV from the beginning due to the character design. It's by far the laziest in any FF to the date. 4 dudes all dressed in black, I've seen them in at least 3 trailers and I still can't say who's everyone. They are so generic.
And the main character, here we go, another emo/tough dude mix. Just like Cloud or Squall, but without their charm, since his design is terrible. Those pants... and the fact he's using a full arsenal instead of some iconic weapon like the Buster Sword or the Gunblade (or whatever it was called in english).

But I'm no fool, the gameplay and the visuals are looking better with every new trailer they show. I played XIII, XIII-2 and XIII-3, so I'm totally playing this. But I wish the design wasn't so damn stupid. A little colour in my characters and a consistent world is all I want, Square.
I'll be optimistic with this one and think it'll be a good game until proven otherwise. But really, it's a step back from FFXIII in a lot of things.
Maybe is the Xbone version.....
lol?
forreal, give it a couple of days and everyone is gonna start shitting on it
Thank you for my new wallpaper. This one?

Well, the "plan" is at least Japan by the end of 2015. I kind of expected them to announce that today. But maybe they don't want to commit to anything yet... cause, well you know. About Nomura leaving... well, let's just say that history tends to repeat itself more than some realize.
This is starting to get silly.
Have you people ACTUALLY played a Final Fantasy title before? Listen to yourself. Complaining about a mix of styles and art design inconsistencies...in a Final Fantasy?
Tell me about how much the transition from Midgar to Kalm turned you off.
Surprised there isn't a photo of a preorder receipt from 2006 like Duke Nukem Forever.Do we get a bonus for having it preordered for over 2 years?

I don't think so. Maybe some interviews with Tabata from Japanese magazines. Maybe.
Ok watching the trailer again (That damned music eeeek) it just hits all of the right notes. Reminds me a lot of VIII's style but much improved. Also anyone saying the graphics look worse than they did at E3 needs their eyes checked...... this looks a complete generation beyond the last trailer they showed and almost looks like a completely different engine. The combat looks very solid and seems to have a very good collision model as there are times in the trailer where enemies react to being hit in areas during what appears to be actual combat.

QFT. It looks so good compared to the rereveal trailer that I'm almost afraid there'll be downgrades when they iron out the frame rate.
I'll agree that the character designs are generic. But if you think this is the first time there have been inconsistent and wacky world design choices, you have clearly never played a Final Fantasy game. Almost every single game has had inconsistent settings. Not to mention the world... Called that shit.
They should really try for a worldwide release, but I know better than that, so I won't get my hopes up.
GUYS the trailer is for the demo, not the whole game. the demo focuses on the early part of the game so that's why the trailer didn't really show much except the same road-trip parts.

10,000% agreed.
What I'm really hopeful about is that they keep the story simplistic. No overly convoluted shit but rather a strong focus on the core cast.
