My point being this seems like a seperate compartmentalized beta site. Sure they probabaly could, sounds easy on paper. But still doesnt make sense why they would. Unles they would have advertized about doing it this way ahead of time, or mentioned it in the emails. Just seems it would be a bit pointless and more complex to go that route. And personally I haven't seen MS or Sony do anything like that before with achievments/trophys. But I dont know.

edit: Well now I see the line in the US email about "your skill and dedication being recognized". though that would likely just be marketing talk, and not really mean anything. Maybe its sending these out based on other criteria, like signing up on the beta site previously, etc.
I'm pretty sure it's how the Minecraft discount worked. Ps3 trophy data before august 28th.

Plat demon souls. Played the network test for ds2. Got in. North America by the way. I don't see where to accept it though? It does say downloading it is accepting it but that there is a yes button.

Got mine today (US) but only have a link to the agreement text. No link to actualy confirm participation on the alpha.

BUT they ask to pay attention on the e-mail inbox in the next weeks... So looks good so far.

Just plat on Demon's souls. And 1000/1000 on DS1 and 2.

Now I regret not finishing that Platinum on Demon's Souls back in the day... Oh well.

Very cool way to handle invitations, though.

Dear developer,
You have been selected to play test your own game and as an added bonus you are not allowed to release a huge day-one patch fixing all the bus you have missed.
Sincerely, gamers.

Wait, it's a code to access?

Huh.

If that's the case, if anyone has a code and doesn't want to/can't use it, I'd like to have it. No biggie, though.

So what's the benefit of not any having player feedback whatsoever?

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but:
I think it's safe to stop talking about who platted which games because that has nothing to do with it. I think you have to have signed up for a Playstation beta before to get the e-mail.
There are people who platted all of them but didn't get in and people who have never played any of them and got an e-mail. So it's not related. Having been in a previous Playstation beta program is a much, much more likely reason for invites.

Beat both DeS and DaS one, didn't get a platinum either (stupid Pure Bladestone..). Barely touched DaS II and still got an invite yesterday morning.

I didn't get an email, but I do think it's pretty cool that many that did get the email appeared to put a lot of time into previous games in the series...

Sure, not every person that platinum'd those games got invited, but it does appear to be based on some people with experience with the past games...

It keeps people who aren't familiar to the series from shiting up message boards with complaints of it being too hard or the mechanics aren't user friendly....

I mean they can't invite everyone, but at least those they did, appear to enjoy the series and put a lot of time into it, and that I think is a neat little reward...

And there are those that didn't play previous titles, but it looks like many did.
