Better than the first episode. We're introduced to Marie Antoinette (whose giggling may or may not become incredibly annoying in the future) as well as a slew of other characters including French!Zorro. The setup for this episode was better than the first, and was complimented with better pacing, which was the first episode's major problem. Judging by that ending narration, the stage is slowly being set for something rather big...

Well this episode was fucking hilarious. Marie Antoinette crosses hairs with a dubious woman named Madame du Barry, who apparently cheated her way into power from off of the streets and into the king's lap. What occurs through the episode is basically a "MY DRESS IS FRILLIER THAN YOURS!" campaign between the two and it is amazing. It definitely give me Dear Brother vibes, and I'm really hoping there's more of it. Mean Girls ain't got nothin' on this.

Momo Kyun Sword 12 + Final Thoughts
I knew exactly what I was getting going into this. A fanservicey, slightly self-aware take on Japanese folklore with some quasi-magical girl elements. And in that regard, the show delivered exactly what I was looking for in the first place to the best of its ability. Sure, it feels like a lost show from the 90s, but for the niche of people it's aiming for, I left satisfied. There was some drama and seriousness at points, but not so much that the fun atmosphere went away. Even Momo and Onihime's rivalry at the end is ultimately one of two sisters who are trying to one-up the other instead of a quest for blood. The various forms were pretty cool, and I know there are more "seasons" of the web novel out there, though I can't see this getting a S2, as much as I'd welcome one.
Onihime was a great character all around, too. Lightly tsundere, brown girl, and passionate in what she does. The idol stuff was a little too on the nose about acknowledging its nature, such is the modern age. Idols are making their way into all sorts of anime.

overall these were pretty good episodes... and i guess a decent ending as I don't really have any motivation to continue the story despite liking these last few episodes.
The series as a whole was a decent watch... it was a nice ride for the first few eps, then it was a long trudge up a hill for the middle and then finally it was a nice free fall from the top of the hill until the end.

This is definitely a underdog story. One where the dog is kicked while it's down all the time. On one hand this show tries to show the bad sides of the idol business and on the other hand it's made to cash in on it isn't it? But at least it tries to show more of the darker sides than some of the other idol shows.
It had a lot of drama stuff in it, it works a few times, but for the most part it's just too much of it. Ok, we get it, the way the I-1 Club is run is bad, no need to show it in episode after episode. It did manage to draw me in at the end though.
Sometimes the look of the show is reminiscent of The Eccentric Family, probably because of the more muted colors? I dunno. But there are plenty of animation problems, so much that even I, who doesn't usually notice this stuff, managed to see some. At least it had 2d dancing (except for som 3d for the I-1 Club stuff), even if there weren't exactly a lot of dancing in it.
Of the songs I liked the first OP the best. Second best was the Chrono Trigger rip-off used in the sad scenes
