I was hoping to land all raid gear for my shards. If that's possible.
Why not upgrade your current raid item, though?

So today I leveled up my Cryptarch to like Rank 42 and got the usual package at the Post Master. It contained two Legendary Engrams, chest armor and special weapon to be precise.
I went ahead and equipped the Blessing of Gifted emblem and decrypted the two, expecting Blues.
I did not get Blues, I got a Legendary Hunter Chest Piece, and a Legendary Shotgun. #believe

Anyone looking to do a raid run at the moment?
ADVICE NEEDED:
So I got two legendary armors from the cryptarch, both for different classes. I'm keeping them since if and when I create a new character I'm all set with at least one armor piece for them.
But now that it'll be much easier to get legendary items, should I just go ahead and dismantle the two pieces into the Ascendant Shards I need for my current character? Or should I still hold on to them?

You know.. when I got Lucky Raspberry from a Legendary Engram I kinda felt like I'd got the worst of the bunch as far as Hunter exotics go. I planned to have Mask of the Third Man for PvP with the extra bladedancer buff. I also planned to have the Crest of the Alpha Lupi for PvE with its quicker revives but..
The Lucky Raspberry is doing solidly. It allows me to carry extra heavy ammo. So instead of 4 or 5 rockets I get 7 for example. Which is awesome in any game mode. I also have an upped arc grenade which makes short work of enemy waves in PvE (of which there are many). And on top of that, I spawn with grenade energy, which is crazy in PvP. I'm not sure if it needs replacing anymore. Maybe with the other chest piece for PvE at least. It's a shame it looks so average
Edit: I just noticed it's part of the arcbolt upgrade.

Yeah, like that one guy I was arguing with saying 'But he's 2 shotting!' and I pretty much proved him wrong by well, showing him the same video. So quick to jump the gun on a highlight video. If I bothered to record myself, I could come up with 5-10 matches of pvp where I'm 2k points ahead of everyone.

Man, with the Suros Regime I feel like a god in rumble.
I have the same issue (mine is fully upgraded). I can't see stat differences and enemies don't seem to combust. It's a little annoying, but at least the weapon is still OP.

Does anyone have a link to a good post 20 guide? Ive seen a few pop up on reddit but the comments section turns into a bunch of arguments for and against a lot of the stuff in the guide so it just ends up being confusing.
Right now I am level 23 just from finishing the story and playing crucible. I haven't had a purple of yellow drop ever, only rares. Right now I am getting 1 rare every 2-3 crucible matches but very rarely does it end up being an upgrade. I have a feeling I am going to have to end up grinding patrol missions which unforutnately bores me to tears. I attempted one of the queens missions(level 24) but couldn't complete it, was veryyyy slow progress and in the end kept dying in the darkness zone.

So, I did the last story mission and the last strike (Dust Palace).
So the final boss is
The level itself was cool, though.
The Dust Palace boss was the first one in a strike that I've enjoyed. Forced lots of map movement, and required team firing to take down the boss and his henchmen. Really great fight and I wish more were like it, rather than a giant bullet sponge standing in the middle.
So the final boss is
an amorphous blob of Darkness that we don't even fight - just three reskins of other bosses. Very, very lame. The whole "the Darkness is receding and the Traveler is filled with light" stuff is so cliche I can't believe Bungie let it out the door.

Duuuuuuuuuude tell me about it. I mean.. I suppose you would need to get the item first to get the skin which would be a pain with exotics but still, the extra customisation would be nice.
I can see why they'd never implement it for weapons, at least in PvP, so people know what they're up against. But armour appearance wouldn't be game changing, and we might get a bit more variety in style.

That's a good idea I might keep an eye on skins from now on and do the same. A buddy of mine who rolled a Hunter recently had some cool looking greens and blues I'd probably want. Some of the early hunter helmets looked kickass!

For some reason I get really irritated when I get an invite from some random person that added me to their friends list with the only comment being "Play Destiny!"..Why are people so damn lazy that they can't take 10 seconds to type out what they're doing/want to do rather than assuming what they're doing is more important than what I'm doing..I've had half a dozen this week where I get an invite and go to orbit with them..to find they're doing the Summoning pits or some other low level Strike on normal (usually as level 20+)..no mics so I can't even get a conversation going and if I do stick around..no "thanks for helping" message.
Do level 24 strikes, make sure to upgrade your items fully. If you're on PS4 I'd be glad to help you out with the queen's missions, I'm level 27. Though it may not be possible right now with poopy PSN

Wouldn't the 24 strikes be just as hard, if not harder then the queens missions? Or do you mean just rely on whoever it matches me with to carry.
it's called transmog in wow and diablo and it's disappointing that it's not at least on bungies radar for this game. i'd love to change some of my armor pieces around.

I wish I wasn't on my phone right now otherwise I'd post some of my "it" gifs.Endgame is grinding rep and marks to buy legendaries. Keep doing dailies and weeklies to get upgrade material for those legendaries. Get lucky or use strange coins to buy exotics.
Pretty much it.
