Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I have to say the new weeklong format with just a search list isn't really more readable...

True, but it's miles ahead of what we used to have, in my opinion.

One thing of note is that the deals are sorted in such a way that the top rated games are at the top of the list, then the ones with mixed reviews, then the negatively reviewed games. The real winner here is that the list doesn't randomize itself every time you load it (like the old one did).

I like the new search design. I just wish it were possible to increase the amount of results per page, and for some reason you can't change the release date order to ascending, which is a tad annoying when browsing for upcoming games.

I'm the type of turd that will pass on DA:O ultimate edition just because there isn't controller support. I played the main game on the PS3 and wouldn't mind playing the expansion, but i aint got time for kb+m

Damn, I didn't even know it was out already.

Also I wish Steam was smart enough not to recommand me Dragon Age. I already have the Ultimate Edition, I really don't need the regular one too. Come on Valve.

I'm sort of interested in Shadowrun Online.
On the other hand, there's been almost zero buzz about it since it was announced...

Not sure if it's been posted here or not, but I've been playing The Sacred Tears TRUE, and the developers/publishers comments interested me and I thought it might interest some here.

sales are well below expectations. The major issue seems to be Steam's new update, which has DRASTICALLY affected visibility on the store top page - whereas under the old system STT would have been listed under 'New Release' on the top page over the entire weekend, it hasn't been on the top page at all. To find the the listing you have to dig into the 'Popular New Games' or 'All New Games' list off the top page to find it. Add to that the fact that Valve didn't announce the release through Twitter, etc. and we have a fairly disastrous start.

Pretty much all we can do now is keep plugging the game off-Steam and hope that word of mouth helps improve sales over time. In the meantime, a good number of positive reviews on Steam will be a huge help.

I think stuff like that is going to take a while (if it's ever done). I've been recommended the AC4 standalone version of Freedom Cry even though I've bought it as DLC, and been recommended the standalone Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall expansion, despite having it as DLC for the main game too.

wanted a gigabyte 970 instead of asus but beggars cant be choosers here (im lucky I can even get that one). Hell I was going to stick my 580 in there until recently >_>

It looks like the Gigabyte ones can overclock slightly more, but the Asus ones are supposed to be super silent.

I'm leaning toward the Asus one, personally, since the EVGA looks like they cheaped out and I've never owned anything Gigabyte, whereas my past few builds have held ASUS parts.

Made it 2 games in today's discovery queue before it tried to push US only F2P crap again.
Jesus fucking christ, Valve, seriously? It's been a week.

EVGA being weird with its HSF placement is annoying as it's the brand to go for if you're importing (like I will be) due to the global warranty policy. Knowing my luck, if I were to purchase a different brand, the card would due inside its warranty period and I'd be up for shipping costs.

Instructions for participants:
I am giving away a Steam key. To enter this giveaway, send a PM to ModBot with any subject line. In the body, copy and paste the entire line from the message below containing the game you want to enter for. Confused? Watch this GIF tutorial or ask for help.

ModBot Basics:
- I really appreciate thank you messages, but please send them to me (rickyson1, not ModBot!) via PM instead of in thread.
- Do not trade keys you win off-site to enrich yourself. Don't try to claim games you have no interest in collecting or playing. Don't claim games to give them to friends off-site.
- If the key is already taken you will not receive a reply. Replies may take a minute or two.

Yeah, so wish Obscure Collection was at least 50% off, argh...

Question- is there any way to check out Steam Specials with bigger tabs for each game, maybe ten a page? I think I'm going blind trying to see what's actually in my library...

Why would I go to the discovery queue to be force fed a list of generic suggestions ("this game was recommended because it's popular") when I can browse specific genres and limit my searches based on my own criteria, including setting, single vs multi, best sellers, on sale, newly released, average review score, price, or even specific search terms (e.g. "Dungeon")?

Brace yourself SteamGAF UPlay login from tomorrow is seamless

Do you still have to launch two clients? At least the Ubi engineers are making progress, now just allow Steam Achievements (seriously, that one is pretty ridiculous considering Rocksmith uses uPlay and has them) and fix the client thing and it's all good. I wish their programmers were more communicative.

Like everyone else I would rather they just use Steamworks for the Steam release, and keep uPlay it's own thing, but if we're stuck with it, at least make improvements to keep the experience seamless.
