The relationship between games and accounts is fine IMO. The problem is portability between systems, the account itself while being fine is restricted to one system when it ought to be more flexible.

Yeah the single digit character makes sense for 3DS but hopefully not the same implementation on Wii U

Just go to Wii U settings, and on the last but one setting on this menu, go to software update.

So was this update accompanied by a maintenance, taking the servers down or something, because trying to get online on either Wii U and 3DS ask me to sign the new online Nintendo Network Agreement, but the Error 102-2932 on Wii U, is not letting me do it, also on 3DS I get the Error 022-2932 when trying to sign it there. And of course you cannot sign them over the internet on the Miiverse site, only on the consoles.

Anyone else getting those errors?

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. The Wii has no clue what the gamepad is, and the message you're seeing is from the gamepad itself, which has it's own software.

Makes me wonder if Nintendo can release a firmware update for the pad to act as a classic controller or something.

I doubt it but I didn't think that Nintendo would add off-screen play for Wii games.

No and to save you the trouble it won't be region-free in the next firmware update or in any firmware update.

Same. I presume it is to do with Ninty servers. Ninty operational says the Wii U servers are in question status at the moment.
