there has been one person in the history of stating anything related to frame counting that i believe when it comes to it

and that's justin wong re: marvel 2. there's a point in the neo vs clockwork money match where he's commentating and points out the exact frames to do certain things several times

it's hilarious cuz he spends some time pointing out some punish framewise that neo eventually does and it's like mindblowing that he can see exactly what frames to look for when acting

That stuff comes from experience, years of it in fact. FChamp talks about this stuff too, he talks about frame counting mid match in SF4 and in UMVC3. FChamp doesn't just count frames he even counts damage in real time, he has done so on his stream (as in he will calculate the amount of chip he would have to do with Dorm to kill a character with using certain moves to maximize efficiency).

However... being able to "count frames" does not make one a better person.

saltiest salt: complaining on twitter that your opponent used joke characters to beat you in tournament

Hax is immortalized forever for this.

For further context, he called the number 4 (Marth) and number 7 (Captain Falcon) characters jokes because Mango (two time EVO champ) used them instead of his main (Fox) because he felt off with the main today.

this one is a beauty too..

My God, you'd think people come to GAF to learn and rid themselves of such willful ignorance. :lol

2D fighting games have to use meter management to try and create some depth to the system since the characters have barely any moves and cannot manoeuvre in the 3D plane. There: I said it.

As an above-average person, who can count frames, this looks exactly the same game but a teeny bit prettier. More like an HD port using the old textures but running with more AA and effects. Gameplay? Exactly the same. I even own 5DR, 6 and TTT2. And I've dabbled in Revolution. I have two sticks. This looks the same. I can't imagine what a casual observer thinks but it can't be better than that.

I just read that entire post and in it he mentions "I have two sticks".

Ok now I am thinking this is a troll post. It has to be.

I love it when I run into people who thinks they actually know fighting games.
For instance I ran into some moron once who bragged about how good he is at fighting games based on him applying his real life martial arts skills into fighters. He was talking about things like spacing, knowing when and not to attack and how fast moves should be. But then I played him and all he did was mash and was ten times worse than Yams could ever be.
It amazes me how serious he was too. All I could think about to myself was how someone like this could exist.

Is this when I get to tell people that at one point I had the Mystic Eye of Frame Perception?
goddamn I was chuuni as hell when I was younger

I'm about 94.6% confident that he's trolling (in both that post and the entire VFDC thread oneida linked).

That frame data counting post reminds me of the poster who said he could count polygons on a model. :x

Oh right, haven't posted my 3ds FC yet here

0130-1854-0382

Tell me if you wanna add me, altho I won't be able to play until later at night

I added you. Mine's 5241-2199-5344

At the rate framerates and resolutions are going, you'll probably be able to count pixels and frames on XB1 games by the end of the generation

Added the FCs of everyone that posted here so far. Mine is 4828 5479 7054. I haven't played online yet though, I'm deep in that custom move grind.

Did you add me?

I can't stand the custom move grind. Thank the Three Fates that I have two months to do it before the Wii U version. I prefer Smash Run over classic as the method. I have found the key is OP powers. Like the rotating swords.

Man, I don't even like Smash Run, tbh. I don't find it much fun.

Summoned Swords proving to be OP in yet another game. Alternatively, Smash has gone full Marvel.

On topic: I don't think I ever got your FC. Honestly, I really can't stand FCs. Why I can't just click and add people to my friend list is beyond me. Hell, Wii U allows that much.

It is in my GAF profile.

It isn't fun at all, but Classic posses me off. Too many slots without red icons. Then if you die, you lose treasure. I can do all of 9.0 up to the final boss, but I die to him and lose like 3 treasures. Makes me rage.

I wish I could count frames though.
I remember when every other fighting game review had to have a sentence like: "disclaimer: I'm not one of those people who counts frames." And it was like, clearly not, because you're so confused about frame data that you think people actually count frames. Only the people making the frame data do that!

Counting frames is easy, just look at the clock. Take however many seconds has passed by and multiply by however many frames your game plays at (usually 60 a second I think). Easy! /kappa

If I stop time in Jojo's and do a combo, does that mean all my moves are 0 frames? kappa
