New gen is getting GTA v in a month. This is geared at milking sales out of the 100 million 360/ps3 owners out there.
The IOS port of 1 already added in proper 16:9 support and improved textures so it wouldn't be the biggest job for them neither. Not really sure what Remedy's involvement would be though. Maybe its a new Max Payne developed by Remedy

Bought that for $2.99 and played it for a bit on an Android phone I had with a physical keyboard.
It was a fun novelty, but it made me hungry for a Vita version all the more.
Why? You just go to the store, find the game and purchase it. It downloads and then you play it. You can even never connect the xbox to the internet again and it will work offline.

You've been able to play San Andreas in any resolution, on almost any PC in the past 7 years. San Andreas has been on 6 platforms. Missing out on playing an old, muddy looking game at 1080p on a PS4/Xbone isn't a big deal, not at all.
This could get a release on current gen consoles, but if it doesn't, so what? Does every single piece of videogame software need to be ported to current gen consoles?

Ah, that's a shame about VC. But when you think about it.... GTA:SA was released on October 26th 2004, and it is now October 23rd 2014.... It is almost the ten year anniversary of San Andreas.
Are they planning a stealth anniversary release for the game? That would make sense if they launched a special edition of the game in another three days from now.
EDIT: Oh I guess everyone has caught onto the 10th anniversary thing.. but with the new beta password locked in Steam and the 360 version, maybe they are planning a larger release?

I'm down with this. I only played a bit of SA on the 360 but it was the OG Xbox version and I didn't stick with it so would like another go at it. Back log be am cry.
They probably felt they couldn't get away with a bare bones port for X1/ps4, especially with the high quality of TLOU Remastered and MCC. Whereas last gen gamers won't complain with a simple up res ps2 game.
Even if comes to PS3 (the only last gen console i own) not sure if I'll buy. If it came to vita though, that's when I'd get excited.

PC version has higher resolution and a ton of mods so I doubt it. Unless you're way into achievements.
