Toby returning as Spidey would be the worst thing. He was not a good Parker/Spidey.

Toby returning as Spidey would be the best thing. He was a very good Parker/Spidey.

It's why they're waiting so long to announce S-M's involvement in the MCU. It's all Toby or nothing.

BLACK PANTHER!!!!!!

This captures my feelings on this whole event. I got in late and watched the live blog about 10-15 minutes before it was over, and that gif was me the entire time as I scrolled through once announcement to the next.

edit: just realized that I am 20 pgs behind and probably never gonna get to this point in the tread if I read it all....

That's... a lot of movies. Coming from someone who isn't a comic book geek/nerd/diehard, it feels like fatigue is going to set in at some point in this phase.

Which plan? You mean a third announced Spider-Man film and a Sinister Six movie? Not a pretty big plan at all.

(No, the female lead spin-off movie and the Venom movie arent announced, they are rumored...)

they had to rewrite most of asm2 while shooting, since the higher ups came up with the sinister six/asm3 stuff pretty late. it was nevver planed from the beginning.

No. Garfield is superior.

Plus Tobey is too old to be Parker now anyway. Dude turns 40 next year. He's 6 years older than Cap.

This also means Dunst would have to be back as MJ. Do you really want that back?!

I'm not defensive at all. I'm just stating the truth.

see Xia we have people saying this while the Hulk movie and Thor movies exist. Also, Marvel gave a movie to Scott Derrickson. The director of such classics as The Day the Earth Stood Still, Hellraiser Inferno, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and Deliver Us from Evil.

Scott's a nice guy but he makes shit movies.

Nah you're just as bad as the extreme fanboys. I don't see the harm in casual fanboys poking a little jab at each other.

i doubt they don't care

otherwise they would have tried to downsize his comic events, but they've done the opposite. plus they did try to get oscorp tower in avengers 1, but sony didn't have the cgi done/ready

but who knows, i guess. they're probably desperately trying to get toby on board

I'm sure Marvel can't wait to announce a 40 year old spiderman lol

I mean, I'm sure Marvel would like to have Spiderman, he's a hugely popular character (which is probably why they can't afford to give him the FF treatment in the comics) but I think at this point Avengers can make billions without Spiderman. Reasonably how much is Spiderman worth to Marvel outside of mostly good will with diehard comic fans? I don't think the more casual audience is missing him all that much. Marvel doesn't need Spiderman and can afford to just wait out until the situation and circumstances are perfect for them.

This is such bullshit.

Seriously, you fan boys are hilarious. DC has a plan. Marvel has a plan. Neither of them are making it up as they go along. What you just said shows you don't understand the logistics of filmmaking. The amount of work that goes into these movies can't possibly be done by just "making it up".
Yeah. Good post Kaep. Not to mention the fact that biases are clouding peoples opinion. Labeling every movie besides Marvel ones as shit before they exist? Because.. of the studio?? If there is a good writer/director any of these movies can be good, and the opposite.

I love superhero movies and get hyped for them, but I've said it before, MCU has a lot of sub par flicks. As does Fox, Sony, and DC. The majority of superhero flicks in general just aren't that great.

Oh and Capt 3 will be the best movie out all these announced today.

Nah you're just as bad as the extreme fanboys. I don't see the harm in casual fanboys poking a little jab at each other.

There's a difference between a jab and people making shit up about crap they don't understand.

Nah.

They can Benjamin Button him!

And sure, I'll take it. If it means we get Rosemary Harris back too
You're such a mark.
YOU'RE THE MARK, MARK

I'm just clowning around lol

I agree...there are two of them since iron man...iron man 2 and thor...the rest are excellent

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Only big news here is that Guardians of the Galaxy is 3 years away.

Time to freeze myself since I can't care about any of the others announced since 1) No Ironman and 2) No X-men.

• Avengers: Infinity War Part 2(Dis) - 5/3/19
• Justice League Part II(WB) - 6/14/19

5 weeks between them.

Man, DC might have a problem here. I think they had an idea that Cap 3 was going to be Civil War, that's why they bumped their movie up a bit.

1) Cap 3 has Downey in it as second lead. It is Civil War. They're gonna fucking fight.

2) Fox

• The Fantastic Four (Fox) - 8/7

• Deadpool (Fox) - 2/12
• Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (WB) - 3/25
• Captain America: Civil War (Dis) - 5/6
• X-Men: Apocalypse (Fox) - 5/27

• Untitled Wolverine(Fox) - 3/3/17
• Guardians of the Galaxy 2(Dis) - 5/5/17
• Wonder Woman (WB) - 6/23/17
• The Fantastic Four 2(Fox) - 7/14/17

2018
• The Flash(WB) - 3/23/18
• Avengers: Infinity War Part 1(Dis) - 5/4/18
• The Amazing Spider-Man 3(Sony) - 2018
• Captain Marvel(Dis) - 7/6/18
• Untitled Fox / Marvel(Fox) - 7/13/18

• Inhumans(Dis) - 11/2/18

2019

• Justice League Part II(WB) - 6/14/19
• Cyborg(WB) - 4/3/20
• Green Lantern(WB) - 6/19/20

There seems to be a decent amount of breathing room there between WB/DC's and Disney/Marvel's films. The closest one I think is Captain Marvel and Aquaman. Now Fox and Marvel or Sony and Marvel could be a real problem. X-men is likely to cut the legs off of Captain America with it being so close. I say that only because the last two films in those series were both really good so one isn't going to clearly out due the other.

no he wasn't. The Sony films have failed to do justice to the character.

Thor 2 is "excellent"? Iron Man 3 is "excellent"? Cap 1.. I won't get into the other ones, but there is no way these are good movies.

It seems like DC/Marvel are staying away from each other. Probably smart.

After my excitement has subsided, I'm kind of starting to play Devil's Advocate on this. One of the main reasons why the MCU has been so successful has been because the movies are SO GOOD. There's been 1-2 missteps (Incredible Hulk, arguably Iron Man 2), but basically everything has been top-notch, even GOTG which I thought could be the first real MCU bomb. (got proven seriously wrong on that one...)

But now, Marvel is blowing their absolute load with Phase 3, which will feature a whopping 9 MOVIES (10 if you count Ant-Man, which has apparently been folded into phase 2) and a whopping 2-3 films a YEAR. As excited as I am about this, I'm a little worried that Marvel Studios might be overwhelmed here, and 1-2 of the movies might end up being complete stinkers, which unfortunately could hurt other films in the franchise as well. Fortunately, Marvel Studios has done a good job with making good movies first and then working them into the MCU second, so I hope that continues. But Marvel might be relying on too many new characters (four of which have never been in a film before) which might alienate moviegoers. I know it's hard to believe, but Marvel isn't making these movies for us comic fans...it was the general public that made Avengers the #3 movie of all time, and that's who Marvel needs to focus on. I just worry they may be going too far, too fast.

I got swept up in Thor 2, but it's only decent. I liked Iron Man 3. That was a movie that got a huge bump because Downey and Avengers. It was basically Lethal Weapon.

Marvel just announced a film where their two biggest characters are at war with each other, in case you actually thought DC should be ignored. Food for thought.
Coincidentally (or maybe intentionally), Captain America is in many ways Marvel's Super Man (iconic character who stands for truth, justice, and the American way) while Iron Man has a lot of parallels with Batman (no super powers, rich guy who fights with gadgets). I also expect both movies to end with them as partners once again (or in BvS's case, for the first time).

Edit: Thor 2 was significantly better than Thor 1. I'd call it a pretty good movie that lacks a bit of focus and a strong villain. Iron Man 3 was very good, but again the villain was a bit lacking.

Ironman 3 is one of the best movies in all of the MCU...thor 2 is fine but yes not excellent

Well, like I said would love to be proven wrong on this event, and I was.

An impressive slate of movies.

And even a casting announcement, we weren't predicting.

Thor 2 was better than Thor 1. Iron Man 3 was better than Iron Man 2. Cap 1 had a great first half.

There's no MCU movie I would call "garbage," except possibly Thor 1, but I haven't seen that in a while. I've seen garbage movies, and Marvel Studios don't make em.

Any validity this had as a concern went out the window with GOTG. It doesn't matter if people know a character anymore, if Marvel makes good movies people will give them their money.

Iron Man 2 is probably Marvel's worst movie, with The Incredible Hulk being only slightly better. They're both very mediocre but not outright bad.

I thought Winter Soldier was complete garbage.

Don't know why people dislike Iron Man 3 so much, that's one of the few Marvel films I've enjoyed

Eh, even Thor 1 isn't garbage. Catwoman/Elektra/Daredevil/Xmen 3 are garbage

Thor 1 is, at worst, average.

Agreed...but i don't consider Incredible Hulk as part of MCC most of the time...

nothing is quite as bad as iron man 2 though
