Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
Can we open a thread about the "Twitter" updates, considering that he will do that 2/3 times a week?
We did that for Smash and even for Splatoon.

Btw, about the character models, at least they are better than AC Unity ones

LOL

Yeah, splatoon has one now, I think we should have one for XBX, even tho it maybe will get updated 2-3 times a week.

I dunno, maybe it'll be better to wait and see if there's going to be substantial news and info? He could just be repeating and expanding on stuff that is already known, or taking about minor stuff. I don't really feel strongly either way, but it might be a better than having an ongoing thread here talking about Utah being inspired by Xenoblade. :p

let's wait and see if they will actually update 2/3 times a week, maybe also with screens, as the Splatoon twitter account?

Yeah I think if there's a handful of bite-sized updates of decent interest in a week or two, and we know it's going to be regular, having a thread for it would be useful. The Splatoon stuff shows that Nintendo is aware that social media can be useful in delivering updates which might not be worth designing into a webpage update or maintaining a blog for, and can probably reach more people. Too bad they only figured this out in 2014. :p

Nice to see that there's gonna be constant info updates, or at least once a month thing.

Mostly curious as how the internet features are gonna work.

Takahashi says that from now on he'll try to tweet 2-3 times a week to provide information and stuff about the game. Today he's talking about how Xenoblade X started out in development. After Xenoblade wrapped up, Yamagami wanted the team to try doing more scifi stuff, and they took up the challenge. Since it was going to be for the WiiU, they experimented with evolving the concept with more seamless maps and online features. That experimentation formed the basis of what would become Xenoblade X.

Its about damn time ! Looking forward to it.

This is all been happening pretty recently - it seems like there's been a directive in the past month or two to post regular updates via social media (and not just miiverse). I'm super happy - every time this thread gets bumped I get disappointed at the lack of news.

It would be good to escape the desperate comparisons.

I wasn't necessarily thinking dynamic as in down to the last degree. Every weather pattern like hot days, thunderstorms or cold days(snow not required) would probably have it's own temperature setting that would appear on the display. Was thinking that the display could tell you some of the upcoming weather in advance as in "It's gonna rain in 10 hours" or "Tomorrow's gonna be a hot day". Stuff that would make monsters that appear in certain conditions (should they return) a little bit easier to find.

Ah yea that would make more sense. I wonder how this will all work since you can't just forward time from the menu anymore and you have to go to those weather stations.

Somebody get streets ahead in here

Streets is busy and can't translate everything all the time. There are enough JP speakers on here that could help out instead!

I want any form of online to stay as far away from this game as possible.
I don't want Xenoblade to be anything but a single player offline experience.

Maybe don't reflect your worst fears onto something you know barely anything about yet and wait until you do?

What a hell of an amazing start to the week! For me and especially for Nintendo!

Curious to see what they'll talk about next.

Nothing. Takahashi said he'd start tweeting regularly with updates. That's all.

How is that nothing? New tidbits are great to hear. Especially on a regular basis. Feels like a damn dream that I'm now getting BOTH FFXV AND Xenoblade Chronicles X news on a regular basis!

Because we knew that before. Only thing new is the intended frequency of updates. Not very exciting in itself.

Based on those comments it seems like Sakurai's POTD approach with Smash Bros has influenced Takashi as well as the Splatoon devs to some degree.

Can't wait to see some of the things he tweets about.

We knew he would be on Twitter before.

That's why I asked. I don't get it.

Well in the E3 demo, you could change the time of the day, so it seems this feature is making a return from Xenoblade.

Right, but no longer from the menu. You have to find a designated "rest area" in order to change time now...

An amendment to duckrolls summary, specifically this part.

After Xenoblade wrapped up, Yamagami wanted the team to try doing more scifi stuff, and they took up the challenge.

Yamagami didn't ask the team to try a sci-fi game, it was Takahashi that went to him and his team asking if they could create a game with Xenoblade as its base, but with a more sci-fi feel, and Yamagami gave the go ahead.

It's really good news actually. More info on these games is what we need.

??? In what Avatar? If so Avatar was way behind the trend...Final Fantasy and Japanese media in general did those kind of environments 10-15 years before Avatar...In fact when I watched Avatar all I could think of was how much inspiration he took from Japanese creative media. Which was fine, but there was very little original in the film at all. A miss-mash of popular influences.

ahh but James Cameron has been in the works since the early 90's and in his head even earlier

I'd agree with opening a thread for these twits once they start coming up.

We'll need someone to keep translating them though =P
duckroll pls

Anyway, hopefully they'll post screenshots along with these little pieces of information.

Splatoon twitter has more followers. I think its great that people are interested in both games. I want both games to succeed.

Splatoon's was created first though, wasn't it?

Either way, I don't think it's weird that the majority of people don't care for little tidbits every now and then about a game.

I also don't think many Japanese players are super excited for X, considering Xenoblade's sales on the Wii.

difference is: splatoon twitter is posting pics.

pics = more followers

As much as Xenoblade Chronicles did a really good job at capturing some of Takahashi's big ideas because of how screwed over Gears and Saga were, it really is nice to see some of the cool stuff from Xenogears like the mechs and sci-fi setting come back.

Well apparently Xenoblade was Takahashi's SMALL idea.

The music that plays in the official site is absolutely fantastic. Not Blumenkranz fantastic, but still fantastic. Can't wait to listen to the full OST. ^_^

Xenoblade got a really good reception though. I heard people who played it really liked it.

Xenoblade's account had more followers until recently; but Splatoon has been posting more frequently and is posting mostly pics, which has given them the advantage.

Kinda, I guess. The way you posted still made it seems as if even that is nothing, when it still counts for something. ;)

I think it's neat that Takahashi himself is leaving messages directly. I've known before about other Nintendo producers/directors like Aonuma, but for some reason I got the impression that Takahashi was some reclusive mastermind or something after reading the Iwata Asks for Xenoblade :p So to me it feels kind of momentus to see that he's the one tweeting these first few tweets for the account, haha

Changing a little the subject, is there any one massive video with every trailer and video for Xenoblade X? Or do I have to look for them one by one?

I wanted to either download or bookmark it to watch all the stuff every now and then.
