Well I got Far Cry 4 for £33 anyway so would have saved £9.

Shocked a season pass has been cancelled though. At least it seemingly has. Seems just the China AC game will remain.

Has this ever happened before? Aside from that I think it is the right decision as fixing the performance of the game so that it at least delivers on some of its promise is the right thing to do. Whatever reputation the series had is going to be / has been tarnished if Unity is not at least decent.

Speaking for myself, I don't mind picking up Unity on sale in the future if the issues are mostly fixed and performance on the PC side of things is improved. I love historical action / adventure games and Assassin's Creed really satisfies that itch. I don't want the series to go away but that seems a real possibility if Ubisoft keeps stumbling.

You asked why they needed this game out this year. It's a graphic showcase on a rising install base with people wanting current gen exclusive games.

They wanted this game out by Thanksgiving so they get the most out of the situation. Rogue doesn't have the "wow" factor a new engine game would have.

"wow" factor, whatever, releasing a upgraded rogue that ran well & looked good in place of an unfinished 'graphic showcase' would've spared them a shitload of criticism & headaches...

i know they wanted a game out for the holidays. my point is they already had one. & it would've sold just fine...

If Halo 5 doesn't come out, Microsoft can't force me to choose between Forza 6 or Crackdown 3. That's what you paid for, and if you don't get it, you get your fucking money back.

I'm sure people that love AC but have no interest in other Ubisoft games will be furious.

because the season pass content is coming out so your analogy doesn't hold up. The proper analogy is if you buy Halo 5 and Microsoft later makes it some or all of it available for free to other people

They are delivering ALL the content in the Season Pass to SP holders still (Dead Kings, AC: China), this is just an added bonus.

This is a scary fucking precedent that people are agreeing to, here. I get that Far Cry 4 is decent as compensation goes, but what about next time when they try and give you shit games and you've got no case at all because you've already agreed that this is an acceptable way to be "refunded"?

This is your money and it should never be kept from you like this. People should be offered Far Cry 4, or a refund.

It's still wonky in big crowd areas. That one church window still murders your frame rate. Do your research.
