iOS Gaming November 2014: GLORIOUS!™

I actually keep it bookmarked and if you do the "last" button in the thread then bookmark it, it will always take you to the last page regardless of what page it was when originally bookmarked. Pretty handy!

I just keep it up in my browser at all times, only way I find it. It basically kills all outsider involvement. Only people who post here are regulars now. I wish it were back in gaming too.
You know, you can just subscribe to the thread

I rarely venture into GAF proper, mainly just tend to stick my subscribed threads

So Mystic Chronicles on PSP is FINALLY on sale, $7.49 from $14.99.

I had been eying that for a year, but I have an iPad now, and it'll surely be 99¢ there in a couple of week (as Fantasy Chronicles).

I think I'm more likely to play this on my iPad at this point, but man having buttons is hard not to think about.

Not actually that important

Actually even better: I automatically subscribe to threads I post in and then just hit my subscribed threads tab and if you hit the > arrow it'll take you to the last page you previously visited in a thread if you set it up that way in preferences, it's great

Cool to see threads for IOS games with like actual discussion. I wonder if that means the opinion among GAF about mobile is changing.

Anyway, I picked up Sleep Attack and it's pretty ingenious. It's probably the most involved hands-on tower defense I've played. You always have to be focusing and considering how to best reconfigure your paths. Placement of towers is really important, even more so than other similar games, because your tactics rely more of manipulating paths and moving enemies closer to towers rather than just placing towers everywhere. The art style is really colorful and charming

banner saga fine on phones?

Don't really use my ipad for gaming due to being an idiot and getting the 16gb last year.

I "also" picked up Sleep Attack (how did that happen?) and was playing it earlier today but stopped because I couldn't figure out how to squeeze the jellyfish, only catch them

So what's a good iOS game to buy? I upgraded to iPhone 6 and want to buy something using TouchID just because I can haha.

Also bought Sleep Attack this morning, will try it later.

And regarding Kingdom Rush Origins, the first 5 levels or so were a breeze but now it’s getting pretty hard already, on normal difficulty!
Still one of the best ways to enjoy yourself on a 20 minute trainride.

I was playing it on Vita too but never finished. Might grab the iOS version since I sold my Vita. It's a really good game. If touchscreen controls such I'll get on Android and play it with a controller.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is out! Was this ever announced?
Oh shit. Hell yes. Almost picked this up on Steam yesterday. Well damn, always wanted to play this

I've been waiting for it for a long long time. It's one of my favorite game on Xbox and such a great game. A bit nervous to see how it works on iOS.
From PG:
Like most console ports, the touchscreen controls aren't ideal and the screen is littered with fake buttons to press. Luckily, the game has great MFi controller support which makes it feel exactly like you're playing the original game.

^^ Based on that PG quote, think I'll hold out for the Android version since I already have a controller of my Shieod Tablet. Was very tempted to press the buy button but also wondered about the touch controls,

Surprisingly the touch controls work! They don't look great but I've played enough to know that you can do the entire game with them. It's not ideal but it does the job. Performance is also great on my air but it dips when I hide in bushes. Other than that (and the compressed audio), this port is really impressive.

Picked up Proun+ and Sleep TD. Got in a few minutes with Proun+. Really cool. Owes a lot to Unpossible, with a lot more variety and the racing aspect. Kind of a cross between Unpossible and Tail Drift but mor arty and much harder than TD. Definately recommended for fans of either game.

Haven't tried Sleep TD yet.

My only issue with either of them is size! Didn't expect both to come in around 750 MB each installed.

Nah, Proun came first (2011). That's why there was a big debate in the TA thread about Unpossible being a Proun clone

Mark my words.

Playing Galactic Keep curled up in bed or sofa in total darkness with a good pair of headphones is an experience nobody who love turn based scifi RPGs should miss.

Whenever it will come out.

Amazing.

Any impressions of Necklace of Skulls? As good as Heavy Metal Thunder?

Also I asked the devs on Twitter and they said that Sol Invictus should be releasing mid-December

Kingdom Rush HD is 99¢ and Kingdom Rush Frontiers HD is $2.99.

I grabbed the original for now, should I get Frontiers too? And how does the Heroes IAP work in these?

Neuroshima Hex and all DLC is on sale too (50%), I'm picking up the Five Army Bundle.

edit: "Item is currently being updated." < for Neuroshima DLC.

^ It accepted my purchase now.

And done, all current 148 levels complete in Pikpok's Maze Runner. Entirely beatable without IAP, etc. I wish there was some "you escaped the maze!" picture at the end instead of nothing, but I'll live. :p

Found it to be a pretty good runner, stage-based instead of endless and with quite a few interesting ideas with the moving obstacles and such.
