they'll put the price back up come january. 350 with a game isn't going to be a permanent thing.
400 with a game was already a "deal" they were advertising the past months (granted, it was a download code so they put their bets on people not bothering to download a 30 gb game).

The same reason the PS3 and 360 sold every year. There will continuously be new entrants to the market. Holdouts jumping in and kids coming of age. The reason its so important for MS to get more boxes in homes now is to generate word of mouth for the next set of kids to influence their friends, etc. I know this is simplistic, but there is a ripple effect.

Yea, Xbox has a few more exclusive first and second party games than Sony. So what? The PS4 has has far better 3rd party and independent support. Games like Sportsfriends and Towerfall have been major hits at Thanksgiving and I've been playing Binding of Isaac since it came out.

I think both consoles are lacking on the game deparment, but I agree that the X1 has better deals this month.
Modern Os is modular, not all in one anymore. The reason Ms is able to improve the X1 so fast is because it's modular and has "apps". Why are people complaining about blu-ray being an app? Do you seriously want a full OS update to update and improve a single aspect of the OS?

I'm very much aware that it's supposedly a limited time deal. I don't believe that for one moment however. And if it causes the right momentum MS needs and is succeeding at selling the XBone, then that's how it'll stay. I'm sure if it didn't have the desired affect ie PS4 is still outselling it, then it would be a different story. But by all accounts it seems it been a huge success. But we'll wait for full numbers to see that difference.

Because it was the better deal and stronger system. It's still the stronger system but no longer the better deal. XBO also evoked a lot over the past year with the OS getting much better improving the customer experience.

They could give It away in some parts of the world and it still wouldn't sell, Sony has most of Europe Asia etc on lock Ms can't and won't do anything in those regions, Ms needs to focus on winnable locations like the use and uk.
Xbox One has been the better deal since the XO+Kinect+Titanfall for 400 dollars (and random similar offers every month since) and doesnt stop PS4 to beat them every month.
Remember guys, the only shocking thing happening here would be if Sony sold more. Its expected for MS to Win November. I know you guys know that but some may tend to say the opposite for some reason.

The Xbox One had better deals since February 2014, with a console +1 game for 399$, still the PS4 was selling better.
We know that they have sold a whole pallet at least.
Word of mouth like:
"I got me an XB1 to accompany my PS4. It is less powerful, but it was to cheap to resist"
"My parents got me an XB1 on BF because they couldn't afford a PS4"
"I bought one because I could afford it selling the bundled games. But now I can't play Bloodbourne or Uncharted 4, hope I can buy a PS4 later"
Man, I am pretty sure some will already regret their purchase after Playstation experience. Sony had a slow first year when it comes to games, but I think it will only getting better from here on.

This is the point I try to make, if it was about so called better games. The x1 would have won some months being the same price with a free game. Bottom line it didn't the price is the main factor in this simple and plain.
It all comes down to cutting prices. This system is cheaper than that system. Its definitely going to sell. Its especially the case because this year has been weak in terms of exclusives for both consoles....so they are basically on even ground except for that. All the outside stuff at the beginning that made a difference for core gamers doesn't matter to the kids screaming at their parents to get them an Xbox and COD for Christmas, and even the people just on the fence looking for the better pricing deal.
Its a fact that Sony was taken by surprise this time, and only offering a bundle..well...it doesn't really provide a mental kneejerk reaction of value like cutting prices, especially how low MS has done.

I meant evolved. Autocorrect. And you're absolutely right. An improved experience is lost on those who have no exposure to it. That's why MS is discounting it now to drive word of mouth momentum.
I don't think MS wins worldwide. But after all the changes and better price, they deserve a good showing and a closing of the gap.

The majority of games that people want are multiplatform.
Your original point is that consumers spoke out and said that they want the Xbox for its game library and that they prefer the library over the PS4.
When in reality, these consoles are so similar that it was obvious that a console with largely the same as the competition but much cheaper is obviously going to sell well.
Its not about preferring one library over another. It's about being offered a killer deal on the hardware.

You don't think people without an XBO regret not being able to play SSO, Forza, GOW, Scalebound, Quantum Break, Halo 5, D4, KI, etc?
I have both systems. Loved TLOU remaster and FFXIV on PS4. Battlefield 4 was great too after they fixed it. It's a two way street.
I think more people should give the Bone a chance though. It offers a good experience. Not a console warrior, I just think MS has a stronger formula for online gaming infrastructure which I important to me. The PS4 is a great system too and its unique library has a lot to offer. I love them both.

The more popular the platform the more developers will be inclined to release their games on it or make exclusive games for it. Also there's a much better chance the online communities will be more robust and stick around longer for games. So yeah, I care how many consoles are out there.
MS said the reason they went with 3 OS's (Main OS, games/apps and another to "combine" them) was so that they could turn things like blu ray/party chat into an app then update apps and such without having to update the whole OS, and also so that they could update the OS without messing with games because they're ran on another OS.
Or are you saying that MS doesn't know how an OS works? because if so...

Well, the average metacritic of all Sony games on PS4 is 69,2 - so he is not wrong.
Had at least 4-5 buddies jump on the XBOX One Target deal... They are total casuals and Xbros. So I think this year is where we see the casual 360 fans upgrade to the new model. Looks like Microsoft priced this perfectly for the impulse buy. We'll see how the sales pan out, but you have to give Kudos to them for being so aggressive this year.
And they'll soon be gone. It seems like a financially unhealthy way to boost sales only to end up back at square one. Sony hasn't really even started competing yet.

The Xbox One won't go back to $400. At $350, it'll still be cheaper than the PS4.
There's no way the Xbox will barely sell anything in the next 10 months. The Xbox One is $330-$350 now. Price matters.
