Game Informer January cover - No Man's Sky

Looks like a terrible game to me too, but people have convinced themselves it will be good. That's worth a cover. Next year's Destiny for sure, minus the solid gunplay.

I feel the same, I would like to be proven wrong, but I feel the game just won't have all that much too it like people are hyping themselves up to. I feel it's gonna be a game where you just fly from barren planet to barren planet with collection quests or no quests at all.

No Man's Sky looks like a poor game. But it's right it gets the cover for upcoming sci-fi games cause least their flying the flag.

Idk, I'm still not convinced that NMS won't be like any other survival/exploratory sandbox game where there's nothing to actually do in them. Their caginess of what the actual gameplay is like doesn't help my assessment of this.

Sue me I just can't get into those kind of games.

Is it weird that a Gamestop magazine has a cover feature for a game with no retail release and that it presumably can't even sell?

I know I'm probably wrong, but there's multiple ships on that cover...and they don't seem to be enemies. Group exploration with friends maybe??

The science fiction issue and they pick Destiny DLC over say Elite Dangerous, Enemy Starfighter, or Star Citizen?

It's crazy, I'm just assuming that they didn't want to cover PC exclusives. I can get behind the No Man's Sky hype train but those games+Starsector are where the scifi is in gaming right now.

More likely AI friends. The MP portion has been compared to journey, so group exploration with people you know seems very unlikely

"Hey i don't know almost nothing about this game, so it´ll be trash".....

Maybe the game will be fantastic, maybe will be bad. The extreme reactions on both sides are absurd.

But i prefer to stay positive until something is proved. And i think that the Destiny example is flawed, a lot of people really enjoy the game (yes, i know that it was overhyped to death), as we can see by the 11 OT's here on GAF.

If No Man's Sky is half of what they are aiming for it will be one of the greatest games ever made, but I am sort of at the show me stage of hype. I might have to get me a copy of this magazine, because it sounds like they get at least somewhat into the game play part of No man's Sky which is what I am really interested in.

This is such a cool looking game I do not understand how people hate it. If anything it will help drive the industry forward.

I kind of feel bad for the devs because I feel like no matter how it turns out it won't be able to live up to the hype and expectations.
