That's pretty much what I figured. And actually I just bought a new controller and that works great unplugged.

Figured it's about time to post on here to see if I can get some help on my controller. I got new triggers in to switch out the broken ones. Everything works fine when the back of the controller is off (triggers, buttons, etc.), but once I put it all back together, the triggers won't respond, the buttons will only work on the home screen, but once I get to the main menu for Shadow of Mordor where it say's to press X, nothing. I'm wondering if someone can help.
My issue:
Every other day or so I'll be playing a game and then hit the PS button on the controller to go back to the main menu, but hitting the button does nothing. Double tapping it does however take me back to the main menu but if I attempt to close the game, it just hangs up at a blue screen. If I then hold the PS button on the controller it makes the sound that it usually makes when it gives you the shutdown/sleep screen, but it remains on the blue screen. Only way to recover is for me to hold the power button down.
I thought this was perhaps an overheating issue on my new White PS4, so I returned it. I hated Destiny and didn't care for the white PS4, so I replaced it with a black PS4 and it just started doing the same thing tonight.
Any ideas what causes this? Thanks.

Send it back to Sony. Call Sony directly. They should fix or replace the console. I just sent them a Dualshock 4 yesterday because of the thumbsticks. Just be ready with proof of purchase.
Thanks for the advice. Wouldn't it be better to send it back to Amazon though? I've heard they have great customer support.
Also I'm kinda worried that it's gonna take months before I have my console back if I do it through Sony lol.

If it's within the first 30 days Amazon will replace it or refund it. After that they'll direct you to Sony. If Amazon is still an option for you, I highly recommend it.

When I had to return one to Amazon, they sent me a new one immediately. I didn't even have to send the defective one for like a month or something (I sent it in right away anyway).
That said, the one they sent me was defective too. I went the Sony route after that. It took about 2-2.5 weeks total, but it has been perfect in every way.
So I came home to realize my PS4 had it's orange standby light blinking indefinitely and it won't respond to the power button or the controller. Haven't unplugged it yet but I just wanted to know if anyone has had similar issues. I read it may have just not completed the standby phase and got stuck in a loop. I fuckin hope so.
All up to date also. Which makes me wonder if it was the cause.

Ok what the hell is up with my PS4's disc drive?
It's been in rest mode all day with a solid orange line like normal. I got home about 20 mins ago but I turned on my PS4 and I just heard it do the 3 beep noise and the disc drive would make like a grinding noise but no disc is in their. It kept doing this so I turned off my PS4.
I turned it back on and it's still making a noise like a disc is being inserted like every 3 seconds..I'm gonna try rebuilding the database.

I got PS4 10month.

I boot up my PS4 and all the audio is out of sync. The noise the UI makes when I move from one tile to the next or click a tile doesn't actually occur until a few seconds after I've done it. Then if I play a game, the audio is out of sync for that too. A reboot fixes it.

Mine recently started auto ejecting disc a few weeks back, i followed the video Sony released to fix and it worked... for a while. Then yesterday when i was having a nap, it randomly switched on a spat out my disc which woke me up! Followed the fix again and it was fine. Woke up this morning and now it wont accept any disc, I've reset the PS4, followed the fix but as soon as i turn on the PS4 it will just keep trying to eject even tho there is no disc in the console.
So i spoke to Amazon UK and they have agreed to a full refund as it was a launch bundle which they no longer stock. That's £424.99 with killzone and NFS: Rivals.
now i can get a White PS4 bundle at a fraction of the price! Result!

something is really fucked with the downloads. It was moving along at a snails pace when I started but after pausing/resuming the speeds are back to normal. a few minutes pass and it seems to have slowed again but toggling the pause button speeds it back up. wtf is up with this software/network?

Have a new PS4 I got a couple days ago. I also have the discoloration on the matte part, mostly on top. You can't really see it unless you shine a bright light directly on it. The glossy part looks better than the matte part on top. The console itself is pretty silent, even after a few hours of infamous. Not the most demanding game I'm sure.
My OCD wants to get another one, to see if I can get a consistent matte finish, but I know deep inside it will be just in another place on the new console, or just be worse. I got it from Amazon, but seems like to much of a hassle to send it back and get a new one. Its just a blemish, the console works and its great. I'll just deal with it.

This happened to me after trying to download and install AW and The Crew at the same time. I had some corrupted files. Support had me start in safe mode to rebuild everything, delete the two games, and reinstall. Everything has worked fine since.

^Yep. This is why, when I had to send mine in, I just lied and told the guy that my problem happened again while we were talking. I knew they'd try to delay it. I had the disc eject problem and I had already tried initializing it on my own 4 times. I wasn't about to wait any longer.
Just curious, do you need to pay for your own postage to replace a DualShock 4 with Sony? I called in about three or so days ago to set it up but they told me I needed the receipt before I continued with the exchange. Understood that part but then the representative said I'd have to get a box myself and pay for it to be shipped. It would've still been under warranty.
Most of the time it's best to just lie so they can continue with their script with any technical issue you've already troubleshooted. I just tell them to hold on while I fiddle in the background then say it didn't work so we can get the ball rolling.

Well PS4 number 3 has developed a fault and PS4 number 4 is on its way! The story so far...
PS4 #1: weak disk loading mechanism, would struggle to pull the disks in and was getting worse over time.
PS4 #2: sounded like a jet engine. Disk drive was perfect though.
PS4 #3: has unbelievably developed the same fault as the first. Disk drive loader has gotten weaker and weaker, struggles to pull disks in.
I'm shocked I've had the disk drive issue twice as its not something I've seen anyone mention. Anyway I'm going to sit the new PS4 horizontally rather than vertically like all the others.
EDIT: PS4 replacement number 4 has arrived and it has come with the added bonus of near silent fans! Yay! http://youtu.be/FmCI9cIlIbI

Can the ps4 alternate between wired and wifi without me having to go through settings? Basically, when no ethernet cable plugged in it goes with the wifi settings, and when it detects a local connection that one takes priority

I just received my second PS4 replacement system that will not power on. Plug it in, press the power button, it beeps and no light comes on. Press the power button again and it beeps, blue light comes on, then quickly beeps and turns off. What's going on here?

Have you tried holding the power button down to see if it boots to safe mode?
That worked one time, didn't make it past a restart. Got done with an online chat, customer service person didn't say much of anything about the problem but started up another service repair case.

Ok here is my problem. Dont know if its because of the latest update, My ps4 is randomly when playing auto renooting itself into rest mode. Ans even sometime when its off, well it turn itself on and put itself into safe mode.
Read on the internet to restore default settings, install back the latest update, still got these random problems.
Anyone lnow if i should call sony to ask for a replacment? Im crossing my finger its just an update issue....

Mine has occasionally failed to boot up (3 or 4 times now in the past month from new). From off mode, it'll beep for power on with the blue pulse and it'll never go white. No display is ever shown either. After 10 seconds it'll restart and go through the same thing but actually boot up.
Sometimes it would start in safe mode, or even fail to boot again.
Always on the latest firmware. System is hooked up to an AV receiver also.
Any body have experience on this fault?

Not sure where to post this, figured I'd give this thread a shot. i'm having an issue with one of my controllers: it occasionally becomes unresponsive to input. For example, in GTA V, if I press up on the left stick, it may or may not respond to the input, the character will sometimes walk/jog in that direction or sometimes stutter. This consistently happens if I press ALL the way up on the stick. if I just press up slightly, then input response is ok (not perfect as even then I have to be careful not to press to far). The issue does happen in Destiny as well for example if I start running with the stick all the way pressed up, then my character will stop/stutter, may or may not move, etc.
This doesn't seem to happen with my other controller. Anyone else experience this? Should I just contact Sony support and see if I can get the controller replaced?

Every time I try to upload saves to the cloud I get the error message 'Cannot upload. (NP-34926-4).
It doesn't matter what game saves, nor whether I try to upload them individually or in bulk, I get that same message. Anybody else get it? Is there a fix?
My PS4 is set as my primary PS4 also, if that makes any difference.

I had a weird occurrence last night. When I turned the system on rest mode the fan continued to spin eventhough I've set the USB charging off. I had to turn the system off completely in order to stop the fan. Today the problem is gone, and the fan doesn't spin in the rest mode. Weird.
Not sure if it'll work but it works sometimes to fix video/screenshots that won't upload. Go to your Notifications then scroll down to Uploads. If you have anything here, delete it. Now try to upload your saves again.
If that doesn't work, power cycling your router with your PS4 off.

Gaf, long and excruciating story short, I reformatted my 1TB SSHD to NTFS as per the Sony tech's ultimately redundant advice (it turns out the problem was that Sony are shit and are yet to get around to hosting the proper FW reinitialization files).
So, my question is basically whether there are any issues with using an NTFS-formatted HDD in a PS4. It seems to be working a-OK.
