Cain can cut 40 pounds, right?

Cain is a very podgy heavyweight, even though he weighs in at around 230-240lbs. I could see him making 205 if he really wanted to, but I envision a potential superfight being for the HW title.

Cain vs. Jones must surely be on the agenda now. If/when Cain beats Werdum and Jones beats the winner of Gus/Rumble. It'll be a fantastic "revenge" angle. That and considering the landscape and lack of clear-cut contenders in both divisions it'll be the only real option.

Good to know you take the judges in the UFC as gospel...Yeah that's what counts but they can be right fuct sometimes.
That's the exact same score myself and several others in this thread gave. It wasn't just the official judges. Anyways, like they say "never leave it in the hands with judges". If DC had finished the fight him and his fans wouldn't have a reason to complain.

Edit: I don't know if even DC can really object to the scores to be blatantly honest.

Seemed like Cormier didn't gameplan for Jones' kicks at all.

I think they expected he wouldn't throw many since he'd be worried about getting taken down.

this is what he said before the PPV lol
Daniel Cormier on Jon Jones: 'I plan on giving him what Gustafsson gave him times 10'

or we get Cain vs Bigfoot 3 and Jones vs Teixeira 2

Ok cool that fight's done, now can we get Rumble or Gus, thanks that'll be lovely either way

Rumble is basically a wrecking ball and Jones has been hiding from Gus for ages, let'sgo

Good fight. Not as exciting as I'd expected, but can't complain.

I think DC had the right idea of pressuring Jones, and it worked here and there, but he ate some shots trying to close the distance and ultimately gassed. I don't think he was smart initially because he rushed a little too much, which got him hit. I thought he'd need to get some serious work in the first two rounds because with the effort required, the latter rounds wouldn't go his way, and that's pretty much what happened. Jones is just really good at using his size and reach advantage. Last two rounds were boring and the usual grindfest since Jones didn't have to do much and both men were spent at that stage. Jones had that advantage going into the fourth round, and he pretty much sealed the deal in that round with little work.

DC needed to win the first two or three rounds and do something noteworthy, before the fight went towards the latter half. That way he'd have been able to play the game too, and Jones would be forced to work more which could result in mistakes.

I actually liked it, and I wouldn't mind seeing a re-match at some point in the future. But first, I want to see a re-match with Gustaffason.

Rest of the PPV was pretty crap.

Can Cormier cut off a leg and get down to middleweight? I'm sort of surprised by his gameplan. He did not try to wrestle/takedown Bones at ALL. Maybe he thought he couldn't? It seemed like his plan was to box with Jones and hope to land a one and done shot but Bones has a better chin than people give him credit for.

Also I reiterate that UFC should get rid of the 5 round fights completely. Most guys just don't have 5 high level rounds in them. And for every barn burner where guys go rock'em sock'em for 5 rounds, you get 8 or 9 fights were guys just lean on each other and the cage for the final two rounds. Three is enough.

Wait.....what?

I think Jones won, but i thought it was 2-2 . Octagon control means something with the judges, and Cormier was hunting him down.

You brought up the judging to justify this -

WAR DC!!!!!

I give round 1 too DC for octagon control and a close round 1 btw.

Cormier is winning so far whoever thinks Jones is winning needs help.

Cormier is gassed......not good.

At no stage in that fight was Cormier winning, you said people who thought Jones was winning after 3 rounds needed help, then when challenged you said the judges give points for octagon control.....and then to top it off when I told you the judges only gave DC a single round you accused me of siding with the judges.

The fuck you been smoking dude? Oh and nobody with a set of eyes gave Cormier the first.

For an Olympic wrestler DC's lack of cardio surprised me

His cardio was never an issue thus far because he was in control.
Your cardio is like a balloon that looses more air when you don't get to do what you want AND when the other guy keeps kicking your stomach.

Its like jogging because you want or jogging because there is a tiger behind you.

Cerrone justifying the asskicking: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sjn0ra

Wow. Hot fire from Cerrone: "What the hell was that? That wasn’t a fight! What a joke, man. This kid talked a lot of trash about how he was going to come in here and do this and that to Cowboy. He said he was gonna push me for 15 minutes and all he ended up doing was run. Those leg kicks at the end were out of sheer frustration. I come here to fight hard for the fans every time and put on an exciting show win, lose, or draw. Jury clearly had no intentions to fight tonight and that’s not what it’s about.”

Them wolf tickets. Bones clearly dominated him though and nullified anything DC had so major props. Those 2 takedowns really took it over the top. But all the stalling, clinching and bullshit really ruined the event for me. I don't see Bones losing to anyone any time soon but also see him struggling with the big boys at HW

Yup. Cormier fought admirably but Bones controlled 100% of that fight.

If I had to guess I think Cormier partially tired himself out making weight, dude looked significantly bigger than 205 even at his height.

Damn. Stop kicking him when he's down like you're Donald Cerrone.

Let him wallow in his hero's demise at the hands of the champ.

That makes sense

The Conor MacGregor fight should have been on the undercard of this one. Expose Conor to a huge audience. instead it'll be buried on FS1.

I want a rematch. I think DC could do it next time.
I've also got the feeling that DC is a good match for Jones. I think this fight proved that Jones is impossible to wrestle and muscle around at 205, but DC hung with him for 5 rounds and even hurt him at times. For awhile there it looked like he might've gotten the knockout. DC's gameplan in a rematch might actually be to keep it a dirty boxing fight and look for takedowns second.

Sadly, it will never happen for Cormier.

He probably could. But if/when Luke Rockhold wins the belt, DC would just be stalling the division like he did at HW.

DC should probably retire now. If not, I wonder how mentally broken he will be from this.

I don't think Jones was ever in danger of a KO. I mean he got a few good shots in but Jon never even looked wobbly at all.

I'm biased as fuck too be honest I just wanted to see Jones lose, So I might have gone a little overboard. But I still think Cormier was doing what he should have (hunting Jones down) was the right gameplan. I think Cormier looked good and one point ( i believe it was the 3rd round) Joe even talked about how close they were in strikes.

Oh and BTW I have been smokin them tweeds and have 8 beers under my belt so what do I know right?

lol I wouldn't put it past them.

In all seriousness a Cain vs Jones matchup would be awesome. Jones in the HW division would be awesome.

I could see Jones beating Cain and retiring with both belts.
