Oddman 11 chapter 18

I missed this.
Continuing with the out there references at that Robocop one, but I think that was actually kinda popular in Japan.

Silent Hill 3 - Untitled doujinshi by Douman Seiman

Uhhhh...
Okay, sure. Why not.

Ordinary people trapped in a world full of tall buildings/skyscrapers where they're stuck at the top with no idea how they got there in the first place.

All the while, some masked people are trying to kill them by either using direct means or making them fall to their deaths.

Sounds terrifying and interesting at the same time.

Sometimes I go on a nostalgic trip and realize the goodness of Takeshi Obata's art in Hikaru no Go. He got better as the series progresses. It was a pretty good traditional sports manga and Sai is one of the most lovable mentor I come across.

This guy deserves good writing partners for his future works.

As said before, if this takes long after having them fight in the locker room will be disappointed. Especially if something related to the locker room fight causes a loss.

Aiko no Maa-chan ch1

This is kind of bizarre and rather creepy. Is this going to be some sort of educational manga?

yea i wrote a post about it yesterday and no one really cared

I added it to my backlog if it means anything.

Also obligatory monthly avatar change

All these avatar changes won't hide your black soul~

I'm still amazed I can read this manga even though I can't stand watching organs, blood, injuries... We finally got a desperate situation where Hibiki had to choose who to save, poor guy :(

FRIENDSHIP COMPLETE

The '2 girls, 1 pick-up' routine was a borderline work of art. Circumstances aside, Nagisa's lower sanity stat makes her the better choice. With the club now successfully conquered, I'm assuming the next chapter'll bring Yurika's time there to an end.

Even read it in a public area too :p

i have seen some shit tbh...

(maybe Zweizer and Lain can back me up here...or not :O)

Talking about normal manga (because in the guro and pron world there's naturally all kind of fucked up shit), the first two to come to my mind are Mercenary Pierre and Innocent. Mercenary Pierre because it deals with a character I love and feel bad for, Jeanne d'Arc (it always sucks seeing her used and thrown away like that and in this the rape while she's imprisoned is there), and the other because I read the first volume not long ago and the torture scene the main character suffers is still stuck in my head.

Reading Tetsuwan Girl and Hito Hitori Futari concurrently reminds me that I like Tsutomu Takahashi's art. I don't think it's the prettiest thing in the world of manga but it's looks good enough and easy on the eyes for breeze reading.

I maintain that Tetsuwan Girl art is really good at giving the reader a kinetic feel while looking at those still images and the gritty art is really good too. It's not the prettiest art in the world, but it works and fits really well the stories Takahashi tells.
Then there's Muyung, which he didn't draw yet the characters look like something he'd draw, just in a cleaner way. I'm still really sad that Takahashi is such an under-appreciated artist here in Italy. All his works bomb (took 3 years for the last volume of Muyung to be finally published).

It doesn't matter if it's guro, ntr and whatnot, you could come up with some of the sickest imaginable stuff but still fail to evoke a reaction if the whole thing is so far-fetched that it is unrelatable to the audience.

It's all about the touch of humanization. It fails instantly if the characters don't at least try and reflect like actual human beings.

That's my opinion anyway :(

I'm curious, what's popular in Italy. Anything unconventional in particular?

I never see him as someone who does justice to this 'kinetic feel' you mentioned here, mostly because the other works I read from him don't (adequately) feature this aspect.

One of my first guro manga is MPD psycho.
That mutilation scene make me feel a bit ill. i even have a nightmare about it. Later, i was introduced to a certain rotten sites by a friend and well, i don't really bother with most gorn. At least until i know Kago Shintaro. Took me a while to get used to all the shit he thrown (pun intended)

Mozuya-san Gyakujou Suru 10

Every chapter, it's so very hard to pick just one or two pictures from it because there's so much material, because they're shoujo-length and seriously full of text and pretty good art. You will not see a full-page panel unless it's going to be very, very detailed

The series keeps conveniently forgetting the "mental disorder" aspect of the tsundere just to bring it back in full force. At one point I still thought it was just inconsistent writing, but now I can't ignore the idea that it is deliberate and we're meant to let generic tsundere moments slide for a moment just so the author can later force the reader to take a serious look back at it.

The anime-savvy nurse treated Mozuya like she's a generic tsundere ojousama (in her defense, Mozuya totally is one) and cute because of it, only for Mozuya to, for good reasons, to give her a verbal lashing and call her out on this incredibly offensive and unprofessional behaviour.

The last pages heavily implied that Mozuya's putting on a heavy layer of self-delusion to keep her facade of peacefulness going currently. She's a walking time bomb, and someone will end up in a hospital if she realizes that she's happy for once, rather than keep telling herself she hates hanging out with everyone.

Also, that nurse, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh
She has more problems than Mozuya

I wish Alice in Borderland would sell as much as Kamisama no Iutoori Ni. It's much better imo and sell at best about 1/3 of that manga per volume.

Manga.

Ended on a sour note. Consecutive losses in the tournament, ended up not being able to defend Sai's honor (from his perspective), and just... ends there.

Well, where else do you want the story to go after the international tournament between China, Korea and Japan? Isn't it implied that Hikaru would eventually be greater than Sai since the reason Sai came back to this era is to guide him?

Well, at least resolve the misunderstanding with Ko Yongha or something. Or give him a win. Something that acknowledges Hikaru in earnest.

I don't need the story to go further than the last passing of the fan from Sai ( though it was nice to see more adventures from Hikaru and his older self ), but at least give it something more hopeful to its end.

Assassination Classroom 114

Sad to see this character arc go as long as the others, considering how it seems a lot bigger than this one. I don't mind the random assassin as I've expected that random weird assassins try to attack Koro-sensei during the night.

Seeing her 'change' after 1 life threatening experience didn't do much for me.

Terrarium in a Drawer

I'm like two weeks late with this. But better late than never!

Solid compilation of short to very-short stories (some are 2 pages!), with a nice feeling of surreal humor and good use of imagination. There are a few that are a bit weak but are the less of them, the usual when you have so many stories in a single volume, and of course the good ones balances it out in the other hand.

Love Catalogue, Love, Murder Paradox, Attoney at Law, Travelogue, Extremately Wealthy, Autumn, short short story's main character and Utopia were some of the best, though not the only good ones.

I thought Hikaru got a good send-off. Manages to send shiver down the brightest Korean talent twice in the era where Koreans are the most dominant in Go and only narrowly losing to him. In this sense, I don't think a win is needed.

If you meant the Sai mystery which surrounds Hikaru and baffles almost everyone, including Akira, then I get where you come from. Nothing really resolve on that part except the notion that it will be clear in the future.

The same stuff that's popular a bit everywhere. One Piece, Naruto, Bleach. Shonen and Shojo are the big sellers. After years of trying and trying even someone like Urasawa now sells, much to my dismay.

It's something I noticed in Tetsuwan Girl. The changes between panels in the baseball scenes, the way certain parts are given a big importance with spreads without any text etc, gave me the feeling as if I was looking at stills from an animated piece. I dunno how to really put it in the right words but it's another reason I really like Tetsuwan Girl.

Kazumi the master strategist strikes again. I know it's just the way she is, but it's pretty hilarious seeing her getting incensed over being called a slut by Takaya, and then acting like that on those last pages. Wonder if they'll run into the other loving couple during their movie date.

I do really wonder how Pokemon would change if it had some light dating sim elements.

Pokemon can be played by people of all ages and they can find enjoyment in it.

But it is meant for small children who care less about that stuff. No need to think about it because it is the total opposite of what the game is about lol.
