I would take that list seriously, because 7 unfortunately is very true to this day, if not long download complaint. Starting from last gen I hardly can remember a big game that I didn't have to download shitload of stuff, much slower than on PC and I don't mean downloadable games.
PS3 takes too damn long to install games. I bought the digital versions of Uncharted 1 and 2 the other day, and they took at least 30 minutes each to install. That's very annoying.

How is anybody supposed to know what the spoiler is about? People don't know how to use the tags correctly. Unless it's 100% clear what you're referencing put something like "<name of game> spoilers" next to it.
If there is no mention of that at all people might think it's a fake spoiler.

Which of course everybody here is aware of
This is how I spoiled myself a Heavy Rain ending :(
I still loved the game though!

There was a spoiler tag, and it was basically a comment about the game. If I put a spoiler tag, there was a reason, so why do you open it?

I didn't see your post in its original form, but as an FYI, users are encouraged to contextualise masked text because so many people abuse the spoiler tag by hiding asides in them. So, for instance, if you're posting an actual spoiler, instead of (actual Portal 2 spoiler, by the way, so click carefully if you haven't finished the game):

blah blah blah

Portal 2 ends with you briefly insta-travelling to the moon.

Ideally you'd say:

blah blah blah

(Portal 2 finale spoiler)
Portal 2 ends with you briefly insta-travelling to the moon.

Strictly speaking, misusing the spoiler tag is a bannable offence, but in practice you're only going to cop one if you, say, deliberately hide Game of Thrones spoilers where you shouldn't be.

how long do you have to wait when you get flagged for too many activation attempts?

Half an hour. If you hit the limit again within half an hour of the cooldown being lifted, then you're locked out for a full hour. Whether or not the cooldown continues to increase beyond that point, I don't know.

Don't leave us hanging like that. More details, man.

I decided to play some Blops 2 (alone) last night, and ended up matched up against a group of 5 shitty people. They couldn't handle that I could carry my team against their camping bullshit, so they decided to bring it back to XBL circa 2004-2005. I feed off the salt, but this blend was just too potent. I just need another hit. I'm talking salt+shitty players+racists+Florida.

I just want to bring a friend or two with me, that's all. I want to see how quickly they rage quit against 2 decent players vs their 5 stack.

Dude, I'd say this is actually a bad post itself, as the spoiler warning appears after the spoiler :p

Was thinking the same thing. Despicable.

Call me if you somehow manage to find them and need some help. Also how invested is BLOPS2 with hackers?

I'd say the spoiler warning is implicit in ".. if you're posting an actual spoiler ...", but I suppose hammering the point home early on couldn't hurt. ;) Admittedly, though, I could see people being misdirected by the "blah blah blah" and not reading the rest of the post before clicking.

Well that was a morning's work down the shitter when I've entered about 2,000 dates all as 2014 instead of 2015. Urgh! I hate the turn of the year.

Where did you input them? Most tools allow for selective replace, unless you're dealing with some kind of invoicing/factoring software (then you're already dead).

My real horror story comes from trying to play Gran Turismo 5, so I finally get my own PS3 (I've already played GT5 before on other PS3 where I didn't have to install myself), I get back home after work and think about doing several carrier races (need to mention I bought version with all dlcs, can't remember how it is called right now). So I put disk in my PS3, it asks to download the patch, or I can't play without it, I OK it, 40 minutes later, it's still downloading, then it asks to download some dlcs, process continues, then it does something else, probably installs, more than two hours later it's about ready to play... I already don't have time to play. I was so mad, I was ready to beat somebody (><)

I know, but as I said it was clear to me, I mean the game the spoiler was referred.

Please understand that you had three game titles in your original post. How was it clear to anyone else than you? Yes, Valkyria was mentioned first, then you mentioned the two others.
You finished your post with a spoiler! Not to mention, even if you mentioned that it was referred to Valkyria, you could at least point where it happened, which you did not. And please don't make an excuse that you already posted something related yesterday. Most of us probably don't every post in a thread, I certainly don't. I skip most of the posts about games I don't play or haven't played yet

Snape kills Dumbledore

Spoiler warning.

Worst spoiler warning ever >.<

For sure.

Blops 2 is surprisingly clean. It took 2 years+ before I saw an obvious aim hack (and the ban hammer hit quickly). It's nothing like the IW/Sledgehammer games.

The most bizarre thing about the PS3 is that if you buy a digital game you still have to download the updates separately -- the build you purchase is the original. I don't know if Sony fixed this for PSN 2.0 but I'd certainly hope so.

not sure if serious, but it's Harry Potter

Harry Potter and the Game of Thrones.

Man, that Most Powerful Player Character thread had me rewatch most of Asura's Wrath cutscenes again. That was like 4 hours down the drain while at work.

Did you make a sandwich?

One of the many architecture problems of that system.

"Hey, let's play LBP!"
...
30 minutes later
...
"Let's have pizza instead"

Did you play Little Big Planet? Well, patching never ends.
I played it not on my PS3 some, so no patching or installing, but I installed and downloaded LBP2 and I don't remember such problem. Although I must say that quite a few games are patched extremely slowly on PS3, seems almost deliberate mocking (><)

Good question, not sure about that but to be fair download, patch installs, basically everything got a LOT faster on PS4. I'm pretty sure you don't even need to download and install each consecutive patch separately to get to the latest version.

Hahaha well 2,000 is a bit of an over exaggeration but find and replace to the rescue. Though I'm kind of on a tight time schedule to meet deadline so that's about 30 mins to an hour lost.

I could do it during lunch now but sod that as this is my time to catch up with important world issues like reddit guy and his wife cheating on him (sounds far fetched so far that or it's a viral marketing campaign by Tommy Wiseau for the plot of The Room 2) and Durante's latest blog entry on his unfinished projects over the years ('Holiday Tetris' looks awesome).

What happened? RMA?

I don't have the money for it as work stuffed up the taxation on my pay and I didn't pick up on this for a few weeks, so in the here and now I'm down over $700 (I'll get it all back come tax time). I'd been trying to get it sorted out for the past week and finally managed to get the form I needed earlier today, but when I went back to the invoice office no more than 6 or 7 minutes later, they'd already left for the day even though it was barely 2:30pm. Pays are finalised on Tuesdays (which is tomorrow) so there's a very real chance that I'll be losing around 40% of mine yet again.

So I finished Hexcells Infinite last night.

This experience has taught me that I need to work on my brain-mouse coordination. I don't know how many times I clicked the wrong button ç_ç

Now to decide if I should keep playing puzzle games or get back to my main backlog.

guy a cube over is playing some mighty mighty bosstones.

Guess I'm not the only one.

Apart from their bigger tracks I always get Mighty, Mighty Bosstones, Me First and the Gimme, Gimmies, Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish mixed up. Doesn't help past and present members of each have represent various acts.

Say I have a game installed on Drive C, that I want to transfer to Drive K on an external HDD.
Now assuming that game's data was previously transferred to Drive K using Steam mover but then Steam didn't recognize those files and I had to redownload the game onto Drive C.

If I were to use Steam mover again to transfer the game to Drive K, even though the same files are there, will this cause an issue to the game's data?

not even that is my problem, I manage to misclick always at the end of level, always! I probably just get tired and lose concentration, but I'll be damned if it isn't worst possible way to make stupid mistakes.

Well, let's say that, between patches and DLCs the game download, you will spend a good amount of time on looking your download bar progression on TV :D

Can't really remember Uncharted 1 (but I'm pretty sure the game only download the trophy support patch?), but Uncharted 3 is simply terrible. There are a lot of GB to download too, and I can't really understand why Sony simply doesn't put an updated version of their title on PSN.
Downloading a game, then downloading 4 GB of patches is stupid.

Oh boy, Unch 3 is like slowest game to start in existence! It really takes 15 minutes or so just to start, not to mention download is enormous at PSN speeds.

The only instance in which Steam wouldn't recognise the files is if you lead it to where the files are not. That's the beauty of junction points/symbolic links -- as far as programs are concerned, data hasn't moved.
