Pretty great one OP, It'd be great to keep it updated with any new information.

Anyway I really wonder how Sony Santa Monica is going to deal with God of War story, as much as I'm excited about a new GOW, I hope they be careful to not mess it up, especially after Ascension which sucked in my opinion.

I never was interested in Guerilla Games new game Horizon until I read what you quoted of Shinobi, I'm down for more Third Person Open World games, also Sony Bend's new project is something to keep an eye on.

GOW 3:

Despite what a lot of people here say, Kratos is one of the most popular characters for them. I wouldn't rule out anything.

Quite interested in Quantic Dream's next project. Enjoyed Beyond and Heavy Rain.

Three biggest studios all taking the safe (Predictable) routes on upcoming titles it seems. I'm excited at the thought of Uncharted 4 admittedly, but Santa Monica and Polyphony aren't really going to be of much use to me for a while it seems :/

Good to see so many new IPs coming from several of the others seemingly though.

Iirc Polyphony has a second studio but I don't know if they're also dedicated to Gran Turismo

I just want to see Naughty Dog not work on a cinematic third person shooter.

Uncharted
Uncharted 2
Uncharted 3
The Last of Us
Uncharted 4
TLOU 2

I'm starting to get bored with their output.

I want to see them work on something out of the ordinary that can push forward solid gameplay.

*Edit

I'd like to add that I will also die of old age before the Last Guardian is ever released.

They started hiring again like 2 months after the layoffs. It was just post release shrinking. They're moving onto whatever is next. Can't wait.

That's great to hear then, Second Son was solid but just lacked content which I hope they will not have a problem with second time round.

Eagerly awaiting for GT7 news and also this new Guerrila IP, they've spoken about it for so long now it has surely been in production for some time. Also so damn good that Barlog came back after all those years to work on God of War again, at this point something has to change with the formula so excited to see what it is. Naughty Dog get a lot of accolades for tech but I think God of War 3 is the best looking game released on PS3 full stop and to think that was 5 years ago now!

That Japan Studio JRPG rumor. God damn it just the idea of another studio taking the risky big shot at a high budget JRPG is enough to make me interested.

Is there a collection of rumors or whatever of what the Sony Third-Party relations team can potentially come up with? With their output lately (Tales of Hearts R, Grim Fandango, YAKUZA 5 GOD DAMN THANK YOU ADAM BOYES) I'm ready to believe anything is possible.

Iirc Polyphony has a second studio but I don't know if they're also dedicated to Gran Turismo

They have three studios, one in Tokyo, an online studio that's also in Tokyo, and another in Fukuoka. Kaz moved to the Fukuoka studio. But they're all working on GT as far as we know.

Wait a second! Aren't San Diego Studio supposed to be developing Drawn to Death,OP?

drawn to death is a collaboration between Sony San Diego and David Jaffes new Studio The Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency

So its not really San Diegos game. But still i should mention this in the OP. Thanks

Assuming that big budget JRPG rumor is true, that would most likely be another collaboration. Level-5's "bigger than WKC" PS4 game will be revealed at E3 sooo....I'm guessing this is it?

I'm fairly confident that's going to be Ni no Kuni 2. It's not just wish fulfillment; if you overlook Studio Ghibli being in a state of flux right now then it all makes sense otherwise. The first one bombed in Japan but did decent business in the West, hence the E3 unveiling.

That's great to hear then, Second Son was solid but just lacked content which I hope they will not have a problem with second time round.

I have faith. It was just so early on in the generation, they virtually made a launch title. For being so close to launch, it's utterly amazing. People say it's light on content, which is hard to deny, but by August last year, Sucker Punch were the only first party dev team to have released two internally developed titles.

What are the chances of us getting a sneak peek of GT7 at GDC?

Probably none. GT7 will either be revealed as its own event or one of the four major gaming shows (E3, TGS, gamescom, and PSX). Which one will probably be an indication of when it's going to release. If it's at E3 then it may end up coming out this year, but anywhere else and it's more than likely a 2016 release.

Didn't know that it was a collaboration game. Thank for the explanation!

I think this Verendus post is relevant

It's nothing like those, they're all Sega productions (I don't even know what Miku is, first I'm hearing of it).

If I break down what I know of certain upcoming titles in terms of genres:

4 RPGs (this includes the announced Bloodborne)
3 TPS (this includes The Order and Uncharted 4)
3 Horror (this includes Until Dawn)
3 Action/Adventure (all unannounced, one will be the GOW shake-up)
3 Platformers (includes LBP3 and Tearaway)
1 Arcade racer (unannounced)
1 Stealth (unannounced)
1 Brawler (unannounced - think like that old PS1 game Fighting Force)
1 Fighter (unannounced)

The Sony/Capcom and Sony/Sega projects fit into those. I would personally put Bloodborne into Action/Adventure but GAF has always referred to Demon's Souls and Dark Souls as RPGs (I wouldn't really know since I never played them), so I've been following suit pretty much whenever I talk about it. Someone will also probably be begging Konami to get something off the ground, but we'll have to see about that since they're about to shit out 3 Metal Gear games in the next 6 years.

He also says Sly 5 is coming in the next two years.

Polyphony Digital need to throw everything at this game. They have no excuses with the hardware. GT7 needs to be the ultimate driving experience and they should use Evo to help them achieve that if needs be.

This. Like most fans of the series, I have a love hate relationship with GT5 and GT6. GT7 needs to drastically improve and evolve beyond what we played last gen.

I'm also looking forward to what Sony Santa Monica can do on the PS4.

god damn knack avatars everywhere! if someone at sony skims through these forums they would think it is like the best game/character ever or something lol
OR IS IT :)

anyways hoping for getaway 3 from sony london but i doubt it is happening and bend already ruined my syphon filter dreams :(

next god of war being a proper sequel on a more powerful platform should reignite interest after 2 years of no god of war games and will be 3 by the time the game comes out. they were really digging the franchise into the grave for a lengthy period there especially releasing a prequel story on ps3 after announcing ps4....

I can't see a last of us sequel, if done, living up to its predecessor but I believe in the Naughty gods!

should be great couple of years for playstation fans.

Oh man, this is so exciting :D I love Sony's software output. There's just too much mystery here, it's driving me nuts! When's the next big game show?

do you guys remember this game?

I would like to hear the status of that Sony Japan JRPG. Also, I would like to hear more about Bend's game. Recent articles from a former employee haven't been too nice about it.

I remember, before PS4's launch when discussing the launch line up and 2014's outlook, people were saying "and barely any 1st party studios unveiled their projects yet!". Hell, I was one of those people.

We're over a year after the PS4 launch and funnily enough, pretty much nothing has changed.

WWS output since PS4's launch and outlook in 2015 looks really weak, I mean it's been on par with MS 1st party output, that's not good. A couple of smaller projects, few bigger releases, a racing game, mixed reception.
Quite a lot of studios were closed since 2011 and it shows. What was left was spread thin between a couple of platforms.

2012 was very weak in terms of releases, 2013 admittedly was fanstastic, probably the biggest year for WWS, 2014 weak again, and now 2015 looks meh as well, maybe some surprises, but from what we know or speculate about, nothing major.

Studio Japan and SSM seem to be becoming more of xDev America and xDev Asia, which may not be bad, but I liked their internal games and would rather them focus on that.
Media Molecule just had their 9th anniversary, their last big, major project released 4 year ago, with the next one not announced yet.
Bend as well, last game over 3 years ago with nothing announced yet, if what this latest rumoured employee is saying is true, nothing in 2015 as well.
Sure those studios might have problems as they both have switched platforms but development times are really long.

As much as I love him, maybe Yoshida should be replaced. I've had a lot of issues with some of his decisions and studios under his management in the last couple of years, a lot of studio closures since 2011, bad game platform choices in 2013, franchise mismanagement, studios not keeping up with projected release dates, project cancellations, reported chaos in studios like Studio Japan, now rumoured Bend, turmoil in Naughty Dog with UC4 and high profile staff leaving, arguably critically lower games quality as of late (I don't agree with a lot of reviews of some of the games though)

He's definitely a fantastic creative supervisor, but he's also seems so lenient. Maybe it's time for someone more of a better businessman.

As a PS4 owner I've had way bigger expectations of WWS when the PS4 was announced than I have now, which is a bit sad.

According to this job listing, Sony London is "embarking on exciting new concepts that showcase the recently announced Morpheus VR hardware".

Really looking forward to 'Horizon'. Going by the concept art, Guerrilla could be on to a winner.

Also looking forward to the rumoured FF-killer.

Sony has a long list of owned properties & franchises, ranging from PS1 to PS4 as well as PSP & PS Vita:

Link.

Sadly, most of the IP's/games are dead & aren't coming back. :(

Damn Solid, don't bring logic into it! :(

I'm afraid that GT7 will become the next TLG if they don't show something soon.

Thinking about Sony's first party output for the last quarter of this year, what will they have?

Uncharted 4 almost certainly but not actually confirmed yet....and?
